@TerribleImagination @Whiffle77 I feel
Exactly the same. Our families are missing the baby months as they change and grow so quickly. He's my second but it still makes me sad as he's such s brilliant baby. 😢

I'm in Scotland so the difference between tier 4 and lockdown is no schools and nurseries although we've managed to keep max at nursery as my husband is a category 2 key worker. It's good for him to get a bit of normal! I'm bored of walking already!! Really hope things are different in the spring. I don't want max to have another lockdown birthday in April. 😢

@Fizzl

House renovations is actually good those days to keep you busy!!! I envy you 😁

Movements wise, tbh with my anterior placenta i just went from nothing to kicks at around 20w. The butterfly wings/ bubbles never really noticed or if i did i probably took it for gas. But i remember that first kick (you can't miss it!)
Then went quiet for a week and then suddenly it started again and just increased in intensity and more often. Now it sometimes startle me or take my breath away a little, I literally wonder if she ever sleeps!!!! Constantly doing her gym turning stretching, moving my belly in all places 😅

Honestly i can't wait for you to feel properly because that's when my anxiety went away and i felt like i am actually creating a life. I am more and more confident everyday that i am meeting this little girl and taking her home in 3 months 🥰

Are you finding out the sex btw?

TerribleImagination · 06/01/2021 21:34

@Fizzl I started to feel very subtle movement between 15 and 16 weeks! 😍 I had to be lying on my back still to really feel it, but it felt like a little fish swimming against the side of a bag (weird analogy but that’s the most accurate description I read at the time 😂). I have a posterior placenta, so was lucky that I felt so much so early!

@BecsterG It’s so rubbish isn’t it? Are you bubbled with anyone for support? I hope for all our sakes that restrictions start to ease soon. I was speaking to my Dad earlier and he was saying the absolute earliest he can imagine coming to visit and meeting baby girl would be April, when she’ll already be 3 months old 😢

ChampooPapi · 07/01/2021 10:08

We've cracked and separated the twins into different rooms at night. We have been assigned one each! One on one off was no longer sustainable, yes amazing to get 8 hours sleep or more in one go, but then the dread at the next night of being up sometimes all night creeps in soon after waking. Got us through the first two months though.

Now we have one each we get less sleep in one go but actually do sleep every night so the days don't have the hanging sense of foreboding that comes in the afternoon when it's your shift so to speak.

I am obsessed with sleep 😂 so apologies to all the ladies who are not at this stage, all my posts will be about sleep for like the next few months so in advance I'm sorry to be a sleep bore! It's all that matters now 😆🙏

I have been reading all your updates and sending virtual hugs and waves to you all, hope everyone is coping ok with the new restrictions, it makes sense but it's like ground hog day as we are nearly the year anniversary really of our March lockdown. I found out I was pregnant the day before they announced the 2020 one, it was a sunny Sunday and I was so happy when I saw that suspiciously dark line 👣👣

I've been assigned Violet-May who is our larger much less velcro like baby, she's a velvet beast. So soft with perfect silky skin, but so strong and chucky, and very wide eyed and fierce root reflex. She slept 10pm untill 3-30am so longest stretch yet, i was thrilled! It's been practically every 2 hours before last night so we are finally moving out of the clustering of newborn phase.

They are both 2 months now, 9 weeks 🙌

My partner has Jean who is much smaller and has a dummy, she's our delicate flower who gets carried in his sling and needs to co sleep with him (Violet-May sleeps in her snuzpod cot). Jean though also only woke for one feed last night he said but she did a lot more whimpering and snuffling and needed more cuddles.

As cute as that sounds at this stage of tiredness I am a hard woman ladies and so over night cuddles with Jean 😆 so personally not jealous of him being assigned her as 'his'.

All the best to everyone and a special twin wave to you @MilsCookie 🥰 how are you doing with yours? Have to caved and separated them? Or are they being angels? Ours were driving me crazy so I too have of course put the Gina ford on ice, got to be baby lead really untill three months , they are more pliable by then, but up till 12 weeks they just to feed and sleep when we they wish. I am doing a bedtime routine with them, but we don't bother bathing them. We do that randomly in the day when they actually need cleaning, it's about utility rather then enjoyment still as it takes so long to do both. They seem to love the water so that is good, it's the dressing after the water that's a little stressful with the double crying and the squirming, oh god the double squirming ! 😂

Very exciting we are now in the year all you ladies will give birth, cannot wait to see some more baby pics. I'll update some too soon

Fizzl · 07/01/2021 14:04

@SunnySideUp2020 you won't be envying me when I'm knee deep in dust with potentially half my house knocked down and no bathroom or kitchen 😂. We're still deciding what to do at the moment but there's a few things on our radar! We renovated our whole house 8 years ago and we've got an itch to start again it seems 🤦🏼‍♀️

Just seen the midwife and she found the heartbeat fairly quickly thank goodness! 🥲 so that was reassuring! First time we've heard it and she said it all sounded great. She thinks from what I described it probably is baby I can feel so now I'm going to be super on the look out! My anxiety does seem to have really eased up recently and it's all starting to feel a little more real and exciting!

@TerribleImagination it's not recorded anywhere yet where my placenta is so we don't know! I would assume if I am feeling some movement it probably is posterior though - midwife said I'll find out at my 20 week scan.

We are going to find out the sex - but we've said we might not tell anyone else and keep it a secret so only we know (I'm sure we'll slip up tho!). We've decided not to have any private scans at this stage and are going to wait until the 20 week scan in feb. Our gut feeling is it's a girl but no science behind that at all! We'll be genuinely happy either way though - will be a nice surprise if it's a boy just because we think they're a girl 😂

BecsterG · 07/01/2021 15:15

@TerribleImagination we're not allowed to bubble with anyone in Scotland unless you are a single parent. I'm doing OK though for now. My parents will have Max (my eldest) at some point to give me a bit of a break but he's at nursery Monday to Thursday which helps.

Ladies I have a question about Nuchal measurements. Did anyone have a measurement above 3.5 and the tests came back clear? One of my friends has a measurement of 5 she just found out today at her dating scan. She's getting rescanned tomorrow.

@Fizzl I started to feel like I had popping gas at around 16 weeks but more to the front than it would be if it were regular gas, didn't feel kicks until about 20 weeks then and by 22 weeks my DH could feel the kicks. So it does sound like you are feeling movement alright😊 It is so lovely and reassuring when the movement is definite! I'd imagine doing those renovations will make time fly for you! Are you living there for the renovations? We did that here 2 years ago and it was very tough, so worth it now though but coming home on a freezing feb afternoon to an al fresco kitchen and using a portaloo in the garden were not fun at the time😄

@BecsterG that really is so disappointing not being able to share the baby months with family 😔 here's to hoping that spring will be better. Sorry no answer for you on nuchal measurement, I never got one for some reason or maybe it just wasn't recorded (so did Harmony test privately instead)

@ChampooPapi you have such gorgeous descriptions of your babies, even though the lack of sleep sounds like torture you still manage to make it all sound worth it 😄 you are a trooper!

@TerribleImagination any signs of stirring yet or is baby girl still comfortable where she is? So close now!!

Leok83 · 07/01/2021 19:55

@Whiffle77 just read your post there too..I really feel for you ladies who haven't been able to share your little bundles of joy. I am hoping so much that when it comes to our turn in March we don't end up in the same situation but it's still not looking great. Bloody Covid..I was saying to my coworkers today that at one point I used to google when will my morning sickness end and now I google when will covid end.even though I know fine well there is no answer 😄!!

BecsterG · 07/01/2021 19:59

Oh yes @TerribleImagination not long to go now. Are you hanging in there?

OP posts:
TerribleImagination · 08/01/2021 06:15

I’m hanging in there, just 😂 Feel massive and like I might explode haha. Been having period type pains randomly, but not at all regularly, for a couple of weeks now... I’d say more so in the last few days, but that’s it! I’m 39+5 today and have my 40 week appointment with the midwife later, but I think I’m not going to have a sweep... I’m in two minds! The info on what’s going on in there would be nice, BUT I kinda feel like if she tells me my cervix is closed and unfavourable, that I’ll be disheartened! I think I’d rather carry on thinking the twinges are a good sign and hoping baby girl arrives soon!

BecsterG · 08/01/2021 07:36

@TerribleImagination I'd defo say it's a sign things are starting but yes it doesn't mean it's imminent. I had this with Jude for a few weeks and had an appointment on the Monday where there was no signs but I went into labour on the Thursday so you just never know with these babies. They have a mind of their own.

Are you managing to get any sleep?

How about a bump update? 😁
I'll post mine later. It definitely has popped properly now!

SunnySideUp2020 · 08/01/2021 08:03

@Fizzl good idea to keep it a surprise for the sex for people.
We had a name for ages and actually call her the name but we keep it until birth for other people. Except at xmas she was kicking and my husband was like ^is it the name ?
And we both looked at each other like oopsie but nobody heard 😄

SunnySideUp2020 · 08/01/2021 08:05

@ChampooPapi
Love reading your updates!
I am not in newborn phase but honestly i am already obsessed with the sleep i will be missing 😂😂
So can't blame you.
How do you manage during the day?
Are they also assigned or whoever is free is doing the job?
How are your other girls?

Do post pics whenever you can! 😍
9 weeks already. It's crazy!!!!

SunnySideUp2020 · 08/01/2021 08:06

Also do you feel like you have recovered from the section now? Are back to your usual movements etc?

TerribleImagination · 08/01/2021 08:45

@BecsterG I’m getting broken sleep at night, from shifting from side to side and getting up to wee every couple of hours max 🙈 but I can nap in the day too, so it’s not bad.

BecsterG · 08/01/2021 10:45

@TerribleImagination I remember it well. That's good you can nap though x

@SunnySideUp2020 Here’s my bump update! I am officially a planet 🤣

SunnySideUp2020 · 08/01/2021 13:47

Haha @TerribleImagination

A planet is a good description 😁😁
Beautiful planet !

TerribleImagination · 08/01/2021 14:24

@SunnySideUp2020 Haha thanks lovey!

scrumdiddly123 · 08/01/2021 18:20

Ah wowsers @TerribleImagination definitely ready to pop! You look fab though ☺️ Hopefully not long now, how was the midwife?
@SunnySideUp2020 I will do a bump picture later, I feel absolutely enormous! Don’t know how I’ve possibly got 13 more weeks of growing to do! Have you put much weight on? Baby girl is kicking/ moving so much now, pretty much non stop it seems. I had to go to hospital this week as was having lots of painful tightenings and lower back pain. Thankfully everything was fine with baby and cervix closed etc so don’t really know what it was but they weren’t concerned!
Schools have obviously closed now so I am officially WFH until I start mat leave 🥳 a huge relief as I was so worried about getting Covid from school. Just a shame my 3 children are also at home and needing me to support them with their online learning as well as my own teaching! Roll on half term!
@Fizzl great the midwife found the heartbeat! They don’t check here until 25 weeks so I had that pleasure at my last appt ☺️ Lockdown can be a bit of a blessing in terms of not having to tell everyone your news straight away x

TerribleImagination · 08/01/2021 19:07

Ahh thanks @scrumdiddly123 🥰 Midwife appointment was good! BP and everything ok... baby girl all happy in there, still head down and pretty low! My next one is next Friday at 40+5, so if not sign of little madam by then, I’ll be having a sweep!

Glad everything was ok for you from the tightenings! Could have been some mad braxton hicks?? It’s mad when you reach that stage where you feel huge! All the big movements make it so worthwhile though don’t they 🥰🥰

Looking forward to seeing the rest of the bumps! There’s not many of us left with them now is there??

scrumdiddly123 · 08/01/2021 19:37

That’s good news @TerribleImagination, are you trying anything to get labour going or just chilling out waiting for the big event? So exciting!
Yes I think they must have been braxton hicks- also think I’ve been a bit constipated so part of the pain in my tummy was to do with that 😳 oh the joys of pregnancy!
Here’s my 27 week bump 💖

TerribleImagination · 08/01/2021 22:03

@scrumdiddly123 Aww lovely bump! 🥰

Yep I’m doing everything I can to try and kick start labour 😂 So I’m hoping something kicks off soon! 🤞🏻

SunnySideUp2020 · 09/01/2021 13:00

My bump! We do these instant pictures all the time 😁

@scrumdiddly123
Your bump is so cute! You are slim so it really shows nicely :)
I have put on 12 kg now. Passed the 80kg mark today 🥲
I feel very heavy. Now i understand why the midwife said to watch my diet... but i am always hungry!!!
It's good that you are finally wfh! You will enjoy 😉
I had these tightenings one day before xmas and texted my midwife as it was so worrying. Was like so much pressure down there. So uncomfortable... it eventually passed.
Glad yours are better too!

Reached 28 weeks today so small achievement in my head. Next will be 34 weeks 😇
