We've cracked and separated the twins into different rooms at night. We have been assigned one each! One on one off was no longer sustainable, yes amazing to get 8 hours sleep or more in one go, but then the dread at the next night of being up sometimes all night creeps in soon after waking. Got us through the first two months though.
Now we have one each we get less sleep in one go but actually do sleep every night so the days don't have the hanging sense of foreboding that comes in the afternoon when it's your shift so to speak.
I am obsessed with sleep 😂 so apologies to all the ladies who are not at this stage, all my posts will be about sleep for like the next few months so in advance I'm sorry to be a sleep bore! It's all that matters now 😆🙏
I have been reading all your updates and sending virtual hugs and waves to you all, hope everyone is coping ok with the new restrictions, it makes sense but it's like ground hog day as we are nearly the year anniversary really of our March lockdown. I found out I was pregnant the day before they announced the 2020 one, it was a sunny Sunday and I was so happy when I saw that suspiciously dark line 👣👣
I've been assigned Violet-May who is our larger much less velcro like baby, she's a velvet beast. So soft with perfect silky skin, but so strong and chucky, and very wide eyed and fierce root reflex. She slept 10pm untill 3-30am so longest stretch yet, i was thrilled! It's been practically every 2 hours before last night so we are finally moving out of the clustering of newborn phase.
They are both 2 months now, 9 weeks 🙌
My partner has Jean who is much smaller and has a dummy, she's our delicate flower who gets carried in his sling and needs to co sleep with him (Violet-May sleeps in her snuzpod cot). Jean though also only woke for one feed last night he said but she did a lot more whimpering and snuffling and needed more cuddles.
As cute as that sounds at this stage of tiredness I am a hard woman ladies and so over night cuddles with Jean 😆 so personally not jealous of him being assigned her as 'his'.
All the best to everyone and a special twin wave to you @MilsCookie 🥰 how are you doing with yours? Have to caved and separated them? Or are they being angels? Ours were driving me crazy so I too have of course put the Gina ford on ice, got to be baby lead really untill three months , they are more pliable by then, but up till 12 weeks they just to feed and sleep when we they wish. I am doing a bedtime routine with them, but we don't bother bathing them. We do that randomly in the day when they actually need cleaning, it's about utility rather then enjoyment still as it takes so long to do both. They seem to love the water so that is good, it's the dressing after the water that's a little stressful with the double crying and the squirming, oh god the double squirming ! 😂
Very exciting we are now in the year all you ladies will give birth, cannot wait to see some more baby pics. I'll update some too soon
