@BecsterG shall we just change the thread title with Mumsnet to something like

Graduates of trying after miscarriage part 4

Or

Pregnant after miscarriage part 4, TTC graduates

I know we will always signpost other women and support them, but it must be painful for them as well to come on perhaps thinking and confused this is a conception thread only to find a post that follows or proceeds theirs about baby feeding or even my list with all our due dates

ChampooPapi · 27/10/2020 21:47

Or the silly post I did without seeing hers about bed storage for baby bits 🤦

BecsterG · 28/10/2020 01:32

@ChampooPapi yes I can change it. It is in the pregnancy section though and not conception section but of course no problem

Thanks @BecsterG , I think it was the right thing. We've had a fair few poor souls recently who definitely thought it was a conception thread, and at least they'll know it's for pregnant women now. Then if they still come on for advise on miscarriage or signposting they are aware of that element & have made the conscious decision to perhaps read upsetting or triggering posts from excited expectant mums

ChampooPapi · 28/10/2020 09:37

@BS9790 what are you doing with your last day today?! Do you just go in to hospital for 7-30am tomorrow and then wait to be called? I'll be thinking of you today a lot, just knowing your having a baby tomorrow is quite something 😊

BecsterG · 28/10/2020 10:30

Good luck @BS9790 . Will be thinking of you. How exciting!!

BS9790 · 28/10/2020 10:52

@ChampooPapi, it's in the afternoon so I arrive at 11.30 and then they'll tell me which time slot my op is.

Well I've been up all night with bad period like cramping so I've spent the morning dozing in bed whilst watching Disney plus!

Sending DH to get me a macondalds for lunch 🙈then house cleaning, bath, eyebrow plucking and nail varnish removal this afternoon haha. Takeaway from our fave restaurant tonight! X

Whiffle77 · 28/10/2020 11:22

Ahhh good luck @BS9790! The wait is finally almost over. That sounds like a lovely day ahead of you Smile

ChampooPapi · 28/10/2020 12:29

Any more last minute recommendations from you ladies? I panic brought a travel kettle from Amazon last night for our bedroom, why, I'm not entirely sure, but it seemed like a good idea at the time 😆.

What have I forgotten?! Help 🙏

Annny27 · 28/10/2020 13:04

Just marking my place as I like to keep up with your baby news 🥰

BS9790 · 28/10/2020 13:16

@ChampooPapi, I'm doing the same... Been messaging my friends wondering what I've forgotten 🙈

www.johnlewis.com/cantaloop-caesarean-section-briefs-pack-of-2-white-black/p587769?size=m

I've just ordered some of these, they get really good reviews both on mumsnet threads and on websites, bit pricey for underwear but I like the fact they are supportive but also breathable to allow wound to heal.

My friend who's just had a section also suggested one of those travel changing mats which holds wipes & nappies in its pockets, she said she used this in bed when struggling to get out. I got one a while back from aldi special buys for my changing bag but might have it at side of bed just incase 😊

BS9790 · 28/10/2020 13:18

I attached the snuzpod to the bed last night... Found it virtually impossible to get in and out of bed with it there and that's with a bump... So might have to unattach it until I'm more mobile after the surgery 😩

SunnySideUp2020 · 28/10/2020 13:23

@BS9790 enjoy your last day of two your DP 😉

ChampooPapi · 28/10/2020 13:56

@BS9790 fab pant recommendation, I think I might get them, black obviously (why white!) I am going to need the support. As regards snuzpod, don't attach it to the side! When you have a section you won't be able to get out with it there!, so instead put it at the end of the bed just for the first week with the sides up and your husband will have to pass the baby too you. Also you may need to attach a sheet to the end of your bed , this is to pull yourself upwards so you can get out as you can't sit up unaided otherwise for the first few days/week or so (no stomach muscles). These were tips from my friend who had a section and did the same as you, then realized she was essentially trapped in her bed 😆😬

The sheet trick is something my mother said about, standard practice on maternity wards when she was nursing back in the day, think up until the 80s they used sheets twisted like ropes so women could pull themselves up without always being physically aided

ChampooPapi · 28/10/2020 13:58

@MilsCookie hope today is going ok for you guys, let us know when you can 😘

MilsCookie · 28/10/2020 15:47

@BS9790 thank you for the positive 30 week birth story!! Definitely reassures me to hear success stories like this Smile. I'm so excited that you're meeting your baby tomorrow!! Sounds like you're doing all the right things today, relaxing and eating whatever you want. Will be thinking of you tomorrow and I'm sure it will all be fine and your baba will be in your arms before you know it!

@AlviesMam sorry the sweep wasn't a success :-( hope you're not too disappointed. Just think, the later she's born the better in terms of things like breastfeeding (if you're planning on doing that) and she'll be a nice healthy weight!

@ChampooPapi thank you for asking... Today was okay, although we were at the hospital for AGES cos I was waiting almost an hour for my scan, then after they'd arranged for us to speak to a neonatal paediatrician (who didn't come for another 40 minutes) and then I had to get another iron prescription and had to wait half an hour to get that.... so we were there for over 4 hours in total which was a pain! BUT I was just so relieved that their fluids/dopplers etc all looked okay so they're happy to keep them in at least another week. They've also booked me to have another echocardiogram on both their hearts next week so I'm a bit nervous about that, even though their hearts looked good at 20 weeks. They're doing well measurements wise too.... 3lb 10oz and 2lb 14oz. Which hopefully means they'll both be at least 3lb when they're born. I can breathe for another week!! How are you feeling about tomorrow? You're SO close now!!

SunnySideUp2020 · 28/10/2020 16:19

Glad to read another positive (although long) day for you @MilsCookie

So before most of the lovely ladies here get busy with their little rainbows, i have a question!!

When did you all start buying baby stuff? And how did know what to get?
As FTM i have no idea where to start or when...

TerribleImagination · 28/10/2020 16:49

@SunnySideUp2020 I bought a few bits of clothes, but not much at all, after the 12 week scan (kenny keeno over here!). Then got more clothes and the pram after the 20 week scan.

I’m 30 weeks this Sunday and have just bought stuff like the reusable nappies, bottles, car seat etc etc. But I’m super impatient and a planner haha!

AlviesMam · 28/10/2020 17:52

@BS9790 So excited for you. Will be thinking of you Smilexxxx

Bea11 · 28/10/2020 18:31

Hi ladies, would you mind if I joined? I have a 6 year old at home but my 2nd died at 10 hours old due to T13. I then went on to have 3 consecutive miscarriages, the last being at the end of last year. I'm now 11 weeks pregnant and have my first scan next week. So nervous as the second miscarriage wasn't discovered until the 12 week scan. Keeping everything crossed that there's a better outcome this time but so so nervous! Lovely to read all your positive stories of healthy pregnancies after losses xx

ChampooPapi · 28/10/2020 18:46

@MilsCookie so glad,.and relieved, to read your update 💜

@SunnySideUp2020 with all mine I always do any buying after the 20 week scan though less about superstition or anomaly checks, I think it's more about with me once I open that door is OPEN. Meaning the floodgates of spending flow and don't stop to literally the day before I birth 😆

@Bea11 of course you can join us! We are open to all who have experienced loss and after everything you've been through we totally understand the need for support, reassurece, a virtual handhold, or just information really. Plus having somewhere to vent is so cathartic when you've experienced loss and are pregnant again, it is safe here 🙏

Bea11 · 28/10/2020 18:57

@ChampooPapi thanks so much. I'm on a couple of the May pregnancy threads but don't want to bring the general excited vibe down when that's not how I'm feeling. It's lovely to know that you'll all get it! xx

Leok83 · 28/10/2020 19:45

@BS9790 hope you've had a lovely relaxing day today and the best of luck tomorrow, can't wait to hear your update!!

@MilsCookie that's great news it's another positive scan and the little ladies get to hang on for another while longer in there😊

@SunnySideUp2020 I'm the same in not knowing what or when to buy! I heard there was a really long lead time on the popular travel systems here a few weeks ago and we were going into a full lockdown last week which will be until the end of November so I ended up having to go in quickly on a really busy work day to have a look..literally only got 20 mins max but enough to decide on one which we'll order then (can still call them to order) after the 20 week scan. That's the 1st and only thing I've looked at until this week I started a small list of what we might need and looked up some reviews but it's a minefield! Hoping might get some stuff on Black Friday deals! I'm really looking forward to parting with my money😂

@Bea11 welcome and congratulations! I'm sorry for your losses, that's been a really tough road for you and its such an anxious time now. I really hope your scan goes well next week to ease some of your worries but we all definitely get that constant anxiety and worry that goes with pregnancy after loss so feel free to write exactly how you are feeling here. xx

scrumdiddly123 · 28/10/2020 22:06

Good luck for tomorrow @BS9790! Hope it all goes well.
@SunnySideUp2020 I haven’t bought anything yet, not feeling it at all! Though I don’t actually need much at all as kept most of the big stuff or gave it to my sister who had her baby in June. I think we’re going to find out the sex at 20 weeks so maybe after that I’ll feel a bit more ready to shop!
Welcome @Bea11, sounds like you’ve had a really hard time 🙁 will keep everything crossed for your scan xx

MilsCookie · 29/10/2020 07:38

Thinking of you today @BS9790 hope it all goes as smoothly as possible (I'm sure it will)! Can't wait to hear your update ❤️🌈

@Bea11 I was heartbroken reading your story... you've really been through a horrendous time. Of course you're welcome here... this group has been so supportive to me so I hope you find it helpful too. Sending positive thoughts for your 12 week scan 😘🌈💫
