@ChampooPapi ahhh nice tree. Can't wait to have one with kids :)

@Leok83 oh not doing any hospital bag 😅
Just was reading my maternity website and the what to pack section and was unsure of the long sleeve vs. Short sleeve vests to bring.
We still have plenty of time. Might do mine in February.

I have just done an online antenatal where they were talking to pins and needles in extremities due to fluid retention around nerves and perhaps you should try to put your feet up a couple of times a day or wear some compression socks maybe?
Good on runners tho. That's the only thing i wear when going out walking or standing in shops. You will appreciate!!!

Leok83 · 19/12/2020 18:38

@SunnySideUp2020 that's interesting about the fluid, makes sense. The compression socks are a good idea, I have definitely noticed my ankles looking a bit puffy in the last few days!

scrumdiddly123 · 19/12/2020 21:53

@SunnySideUp2020 my notifications have stopped coming through too so not been on for ages! Thanks for the list again, can’t believe we’re both past 24 weeks now! So happy baby is now viable 😀 I tend to use long sleeved vests in the winter so will just buy short sleeved vests for April- it’s a tricky time of year as the weather can be so changeable! Hopefully it won’t be too cold or boiling hot!
Can’t believe Christmas is so close- I finished work on Friday for 2 weeks so can finally get my last bits of shopping and wrapping done!
@MilsCookie that’s amazing that you are all
Home together! So pleased for you x
Gorgeous pics @ChampooPapi, I bet it makes the sleepless nights easier knowing you’re going to get a rest the following evening!

SunnySideUp2020 · 20/12/2020 04:15

@scrumdiddly123
I knowww! We made it :)
Where i live they closed all non essential from now until 11th jan. So no xmas shopping for us...
Good that you are off and been able to do yours and hopefully relax ☺

Ok for the vests. Will buy some short sleeves ones then when the shops reopen in January.

As for notifications i ended emailing Mumsnet and they fixed it for me.
DH laughed when he saw my email saying i don't receive Mumsnet emails anymore... i was so desperate 😭

MilsCookie · 20/12/2020 18:21

Thank you @ChampooPapi !! Definitely - would love to compare notes at some point!! Love the photos of your girlies too - thank you for sharing! They're such cuties!
Oh my god the nights are killlllllling me. I almost lost my shit last night cos they just would not settle. Or one would be awake, then we'd finally get her settled, then the other would wake up!! Not going to lie I shed a few tears. I'm absolutely loving every second and feel so so lucky, but wow sleep deprivation is HARD. And I am trying to nap in the day but I find it difficult! I like the idea of one night on, one night off. Tonight we're going to try shifts but if that doesn't work I'll suggest your method! How often are yours going between feeds? I've ended up buying another perfect prep machine to have one upstairs and one downstairs 🙈 to make life a bit easier! #diva

ChampooPapi · 21/12/2020 12:13

@MilsCookie, haha! I can totally see why you've perfect prepped twice. If money was no option id have the things in every room!

Yes we basically get zero sleep, or an hour when we are on shift so have a whole night each just makes it possible and sanity is kept vaguely alive then. With other children as well this is essential, someone always having had 9 solid hours makes a huge difference, even if the other is completely bat-shit crazy at least the lunatic can sleep by the end of the following day and so on.

I can reassure you it gets a lot easier from 6 weeks, especially if you throw routine put the window when you can't be arsed! I find a combo of letting the babies lead me and a little sprinkle of Gina ford is best, and sometimes I don't bother to wake them both to feed a i certainly do not try and keep the awake yet! I think what Gina doesn't account for is different birth weights like ours with multiples, and that the bigger twins can always go longer between feeds while the smaller catches up so don't worry about them not being sycranised , they fall into this naturally as they reach over 9/10 pounds and become more able to stretch feeds a little. However sometimes mine sleep for three hours, sometimes 45 minutes, sometimes 1 and a half hours....it's all random still and I just feed feed feed on demand, my god that prep is a godsend. I'm marrying mine instead of my partner now 😆.

So to answer your question they go random amounts of time between feeds I'm afraid still but they are sleeping longer between them at night now, they go no more though then 3 hours, but no less then two, which is an improvement from the hourly wakings (and downing of bottles cluster feed style!) Week 1 through to week 4.

Mine will be 7 weeks Wednesday.

Sleeping through by 8 weeks? What do you think ladies 😂

Lol, anyway as long as they just start to go a bit longer at night I will be happy.

Also formula is bankrupting us 😬 they drink like 30 onzes each in 24 hours. The tiny one, my goodness I don't know where she puts it because nothing comes up. Luckily they are not sickly babies, the hip organic triamphs 🙌

AlviesMam · 22/12/2020 21:51

Hey all!
Sorry I've been quiet but it's because I'm finally moved back in my house! Yay!
It's great reading all your updates 😍
Paisley is doing well, she's a little chunk now and gets weighed tomorrow so I'm so keen to find out what she weighs now!
We're kind of in a routine but not putting pressure on myself. Last feed is between 11-12 then we go to bed and she's been sleeping through until 4/5am then sleeps until 7am after her feed, which I feel is good because it means I'm now actually getting sleep! Yay!
Just a question... I hear ladies being in a strict routine where baby is bathed from 7pm fed then bed, what stage is this because if I tried to do that I'd be up two to three times feeding her as she can sometimes go every two hours for a feed, but then I'm panicking going to bed at 11-12 because she might get used to this, any advice?
Hope your all well! Xx

Whiffle77 · 23/12/2020 14:44

Congratulations @AlviesMam, that's amazing news! Great to be in before Christmas too! Hope you are all settling in well Smile

Great news to hear how well Paisley is doing too! How was her weigh in?

And finally for the rest of us hope you are doing well!
This isn't the Xmas we were expecting (lots of restrictions for us too here outside UK) but we are trying to make the most of it.
Baby girl is kicking away, this is our most precious present, we are happy.

Having the 3d scan on Monday morning and cannot wait!

Thanks @SunnySideUp2020 for the list.

You are right, this is a very different Christmas but I am so incredibly grateful for what I have and so grateful for this group!

Merry Christmas everyone xxx

Leok83 · 25/12/2020 09:22

Thanks for the list @SunnySideUp2020!

Merry Christmas to you all😊 🎄🎉🎅🏻

Ejb86 · 25/12/2020 10:14

@SunnySideUp2020 thanks for the list! We have 3D scan on Sunday (Boris permitting, fingers crossed!) I'm so excited to see her especially since my growth scan 2 weeks ago showed me very little other than rough outlines of body parts.

Merry Christmas ladies. Bittersweet as it would have been our twins' first Christmases, but it also means we don't have long until this little lady makes an appearance. I'm 30 weeks today, into the final countdown!

Hope you all have a wonderful day xx

TerribleImagination · 25/12/2020 21:46

Merry Christmas everyone! I hope you’ve all had gorgeous days with your bumps or rainbows! ❤️❤️❤️

ChampooPapi · 25/12/2020 21:49

Merry Christmas everyone! 🥰🌈

ChampooPapi · 27/12/2020 15:15

How is everyone doing? Can't believe we are heading towards 2021!

I very tired currently , even alternating nights , when you get next to no sleep one whole night your still only getting half the sleep you need each week and it's impacting now, so weary! I'm so fortunate my partner is not working though. One twin did a five hour stretch last night but I was feeding the other one so I still only got an hours sleep 🤦. I can't lie, I'm willing the time away untill the 12 week mark, things really settle down by then usually and neither are difficult babies, they are a dream separately it's the fact there is two of the blighters! 😆

Ejb86 · 27/12/2020 19:25

@ChampooPapi You can see why sleep deprivation is used as a form of torture, can't you?
You're doing amazingly, hopefully things will settle soon.

Had a 3D scan today. My baby is no longer breech! Just need to keep her that way now. It's the first time I've had a head down baby, my little boy was always breech. We saw her drinking the fluid and rubbing her eyes. I'm so in love with that little face already.

SunnySideUp2020 · 28/12/2020 08:02

@Ejb86 awwww 🥰😍

We had ours too!! She is head down and occiput anterior so for now ideal for birth but i know she will be moving a lot 😅 just have hope she likes it that way and stays...

She was also drinking loads and yawning a lot
😄

@ChampooPapi
I honestly can't begin to imagine how tired you must be. Sending you hugs!!
Sounds like your DH is helping a lot though which is great!

scrumdiddly123 · 28/12/2020 09:28

Wow beautiful pictures @Ejb86 @SunnySideUp2020! I still find it hard to believe there’s a real life little person in there! I’ve never had a 4D scan, would have liked to have had one and taken my other children to see their sister but I can’t see that being allowed any time soon with Covid 😏
@ChampooPapi I can’t even begin to imagine how tired you are- twins must be so hard! Sounds like you’re doing amazingly though- keep going! Hopefully you’ll all settle into a routine that involves more sleep soon xx

Leok83 · 28/12/2020 11:07

Ah wow @Ejb86 & @SunnySideUp2020 what gorgeous scans 😍!!! Makes it all so real and also slightly surreal that that little person is growing away in there😄

@ChampooPapi you poor thing it sounds really rough. Hoping things start to get easier for you soon and you get to have some decent sleep!

MilsCookie · 29/12/2020 09:13

Hey everyone! Sorry I've been a bit AWOL... I just really struggle to find time to do ANYTHING these days 🙈 hope you're all well and had a lovely Christmas? (As much as you could have in these strange times?!)

Gorgeous scan pics @Ejb86 @SunnySideUp2020 - part of me really wishes we'd got a 4D scan! I can never get over how clear they are!! I've just looked down the list and can't believe how many of you are now in the third trimester (or approaching it!) it's so exciting to see how far everyone has come. I'm desperately wishing for the girls on the other thread to come over too... particularly @Annny27 if you see this - I still think of you often!! ❤️

@ChampooPapi it's just such hard work. And I can't even imagine it with two other children - you are an actual real life super woman!!! It's strange... my girls were going closer to every 4 hours for feeds but I think that's because it's how they did it in NICU with their tubes... now they're going more like every 2 and half - 3 hours between feeds! 🤯 I got the Gina Ford book that you recommended and I like the idea of the routine but I feel like because the girls were so early it's not going to work for us just yet... although it sounds amazing!

@AlviesMam - woooo love that you're finally back in your own house! Was this in time for Xmas?

SunnySideUp2020 · 29/12/2020 10:12

Oh nice to hear from you @MilsCookie
Did you have a nice xmas?
How are you doing?

3rd trimester coming up for me on Saturday!
And i am feeling so much better than 2 weeks ago.
I sleep so well, feel baby girl all the time so no anxiety, my itching has completely gone and SPD pain is mild as i learn to manage it.
Not huge at all apart from overall fat layer and puffy face 😂 but that must be xmas food :)

So can't complain over here!
Actually was contemplating going on a trip but covid scares me a little. Not sure it's the most responsible thing now to do long haul flights.

Does anyone know how long the premade formula bottle last for? I want to order some on amazon for hospital but birth is 3 months away. Do you think they will still be good expiry date wise?

Annny27 · 29/12/2020 14:05

@milscookie thank you lovely 💗 I read everything on here quietly in the background 🥰🥰

Hope you all had a lovely Christmas with your babies/ bumps

Whiffle77 · 29/12/2020 17:06

@Ejb86 and @SunnySideUp2020 what incredible pictures, they are amazing! You must be so pleased! Glad you are feeling so much better sunnysideup2020 too

You are a warrior @ChampooPapi!! It must be so frustrating having them on different timetables, at least you have the knowledge of sleep the next night. It is amazing how little sleep your body keeps operating on, I was a 8-9 hours a night girl previously. Feels unimaginable now!!

@MilsCookie glad to hear you are still surviving too, are you getting much of a respite? We have wildly variable gaps between feeds - sometimes 4 hours, sometimes 1 hour! Makes it very difficult to plan anything. Luckily the longest stretch is always overnight, 🤞 it isnt just a fluke and continues!!

We are doing much better, back on the breast for a week now and way above birth weight as of today. So very pleased and feel like we are coming out of the fog of worry and being able to enjoy him now. DH is off for Christmas too which has been lovely to spend it together, in a bit of our own world really. He is mostly a chilled baby (other than very fussy in the evening!) So its nice to be able to enjoy that now.

Hope all the other babies and bumps are ok, I cant believe we are nearly into 2021!@Annny27 i keep an eye on you guys too, sending you lots of new year love and luck xxx
