@SunnySideUp2020 thanks it is just lovely to be able to start planning when I leave now😁
Your DH definitely sounds like mine..I tried to get him to research too but his thoughts are that I'm better at that stuff so has left it to me and I'm happy I get to do the shopping myself! I splurged on some Mori stuff last night too after hearing you and @ChampooPapi recommending it..you should both be brand ambassadors😄
I haven't had colon kicks yet thankfully but lots of bladder kicks which is really such a weird sensation!!
That pic of the snow you put up is fabulous!! Would love that here but we're just destined for rain as usual!

@Fizzl that's great news about your scan!! You are flying by to the 12 weeks now!! Second trimester not far away at all!
Im doing great thanks..other than back pain at the end of the day the second trimester is soo much easier thank god (although I didn't start to feel well again until 16-17 weeks so technically from then on😄). Had my GP check today and everything seems good. Have the glucose test tomorrow and absolutely dreading that..the fasting and then the horrible drink sound like torture!!
That's tough with your little dog, it's so hard to see them get so frail but hopefully there's something the vet can give you to help a bit.

Aww @BecsterG Jude is absolutely gorgeous😍😍

@MilsCookie so good to hear your little girls are out of high dependency! Hopefully it will be no time until you get home with them! The breastfeeding sounds like really tough going you poor thing.

SunnySideUp2020 · 03/12/2020 01:58

@MilsCookie thank you for updating! Been thinking about you and your girls and so pleased to read you are all doing well. Hoping for a xmas at home with your babies 😊

@Fizzl sounds like things are going well on your side too! Almost 12 weeks 🌈
You will finally be able to relax a little. Are you doing combined screening or nipt?

@Leok83 how was the gtt? Mine is on 22nd!

kkr168 · 03/12/2020 04:45

I've not been very active on this thread, tended to post on the due Nov/Dec thread but thought I'd update you all as I'm on the list.
I started having very regular but manageable contractions at 9am 2/12/2020, kept busy at home, even popped out for some Xmas shopping. The contractions started getting longer & more painful so we headed to the hospital, arriving at 9pm, the midwife examined me & I was only 2cm. Things progressed very quickly from there, I started pushing & the midwife was telling me to stop because he couldn't possibly be ready, well he was. Our beautiful baby boy was born at 11:45pm, we are so in love.

Leok83 · 03/12/2020 10:31

@kkr168 aw that's fantastic new! Congratulations!! He's absolutely gorgeous😍

@SunnySideUp2020 the test wasn't actually as bad as I expected. I wasn't actually too hungry with the fasting and the drink was just like sugary water and a small glass. Had to wait around the hospital for almost 3 hours but I'd brought a good book so bet having a busy morning at work😄. I did end up with a headache for the day though which prob was the fasting so have some paracetamol ready just in case, I tried without but my head was banging by 6 so def needed them. They said if I don't hear back in 24 hours it's a negative..only another couple hours to go and I'll be in the clear 😊

MilsCookie · 03/12/2020 10:33

Thank you @SunnySideUp2020 @Fizzl @Leok83 @AlviesMam @ChampooPapi!
They're both superstars ❤️ on our way to see them now. We're having really long days but it's so worth spending every minute we possibly can with them. I'm also learning a lot too... even though I'd much rather them be home with us, they're both so tiny and I'm scared I'll do something wrong so it's been amazing having the nurses on hand to check I'm doing things right!!

How are you getting on @Whiffle77 - does baby boy have a name yet?

Have you got your 12 week scan booked in @Fizzl or any more before that one? How are you feeling?

Gorgeous bump pic @TerribleImagination 😍 it's your turn next!!

@AlviesMam I hope you've moved back home now!! Paisley is just so gorgeous 😍

Absolutely gorgeous pics of Jude too @BecsterG !!

Here are a few of F and G 🥰🥰

mlax · 04/12/2020 09:44

Thanks for updating the list @SunnySideUp2020 can't believe how many of us are left to go! My date/is wrong however - it was supposed to read 27+1 for yesterday!

SunnySideUp2020 · 04/12/2020 09:53

@mlax ok noted for next week! 🙂

Fizzl · 04/12/2020 09:59

@Leok83 I know! Thankfully it does seem to be going quick! Roll on second trimester, this nausea really isn't for me anymore 😂 I felt a bit tearful yesterday because although i want to feel something and I'm so thankful to be where I am (and keep telling myself I'm not complaining) I just felt fed up of feeling queasy! I'm feeling ok about it all again today - hormones! Glad you're doing well tho and the glucose test wasn't too bad!

@SunnySideUp2020 I think we're just going to do the screening test. If that comes back indicating any higher risk then we'll pay for nipt. It's actually starting to snow where I live today! It's more like sleet so definitely won't settle like it has where you are but it did get me a bit excited this morning!

@kkr168 congratulations! He's beautiful!

@MilsCookie your girls are looking so healthy!
So good to hear how well they're doing too! And great you're getting so much support. Do you know when you might be able to come home?

Whiffle77 · 04/12/2020 10:01

Hi everyone,

Sorry for being so awol, had a really tough first week or so with the little man. We stayed in for two nights and then were allowed home. He then got really poorly two days later and we were sent to a and e. Spent another few nights in hospital where DH wasn't allowed to see us, and little man was pumped full of antibiotics and tube fed.

We are finally home but he seems an awful lot better but I am completely overwhelmed by everything. Think my baby blues are hitting me hard, and he does his best sleeping during the day rather than at night so I am exhausted. Finding feeding really hard work too. But just pleased to be home.

Not caught up on thread that well but pleased to see lots of positive scans, and glad to hear your girls are doing well @MilsCookie xxx

Mammacooks · 04/12/2020 10:22

Hi everyone,
I’ve just rediscovered this thread. Wow what amazing and exciting news for lots. I’ve been keeping in touch with @MilsCookie and so happy her twins are here.
I’m now nearly 34 weeks with our little boy due on 17th Jan and all looking good. He’s measuring up well had a growth scan yesterday.
Congratulations to everyone on this amazing journey! X

SunnySideUp2020 · 04/12/2020 10:34

@Whiffle77 this is awful. So sorry. Do they know what caused him to become so poorly?
Were you ok yourself?
Good that he is now better and you are both home though. Must have been scary...
Do you have support apart from your husband? Could anyone help you at all?
Sending hugs 🤗Flowers

@Mammacooks will update the list with your correct due date! Almost there too!

SunnySideUp2020 · 04/12/2020 10:37

@Fizzl makes sense tbh. We just went for nipt because we are paranoid and impatient. But unless someone indicates an issue it is not needed really...

I totally get you on the nausea front. I was the same. First crying because i was scared of lack of symptoms then crying because i couldnt live like this anymore!
I know these days seem endless and it really sucks to not be able to feel normal or yourself or just enjoy a nice day but hang on, it's almost 2nd trimester bliss 😄🤞

Whiffle77 · 04/12/2020 12:30

Thanks @SunnySideUp2020 they think probably some kind of infection, he lost a lot of weight. Just been reweighed and has put some on but not enough which is frustrating considering how much he is eating! So I have to feed him more and start expressing for top ups.
I'm OK just not looked after myself very well and am absolutely exhausted. But could be worse.

DH is being great, and getting good midwife support so this should all help hopefully.

AlviesMam · 04/12/2020 17:11

Congratulations @kkr168 he's beautiful ❤️ hope your doing well xxx

@Mammacooks Great update! Not long now 😍😍 xx

@MilsCookie Omg just adorable!! ❤️❤️ xx

@Whiffle77 Sorry to hear this, that extra worry ontop of new mum worry must have been awful, I'm glad your home now ❤️

Hope everyone is doing well.
Paisley has had some photos done today, she had a little Xmas hat on which we are going to put on Xmas cards! Xx

Whiffle77 · 04/12/2020 18:58

Sorry @kkr168 congratulations!! He is just yummy

Looking forward to seeing some pics @AlviesMam, that sounds very cute! We have been given lots of hand me down Christmas outfits which i can't wait to put him in! DH nought a tree today, I haven't felt that festive yet so trying to get in the mood this weekend!

Ejb86 · 04/12/2020 20:49

@Whiffle77 expressing for top ups is hard, especially when you're struggling with baby blues. I had to for my little boy. In the end we topped with formula for a bit until he fed a bit better. If you need to do that to just get by, it is perfectly acceptable! I'm still feeding 3 years on, so it is not as though it is the start of the end of feeding.

Hope you don't mind me saying, I just remember how hard it was. Xx

Whiffle77 · 05/12/2020 11:50

Thanks @Ejb86, im hoping it will only be for a few days but if it is any more I will def consider formula. It is really hard work. Had a perfect afternoon/evening of feeding until the early hours and then he has completely refused it all morning. Really frustrating.

Ejb86 · 05/12/2020 13:33

@Whiffle77 oh I remember it well! My advice would be to wap the boobs out and just get loads of skin to skin with him. I think when that happened with us a bath helped too. Xx

SunnySideUp2020 · 05/12/2020 14:56

@Ejb86 i hope you will still be around with all your advice when i am struggling breastfeeding in April 😁
Looks like you know the tricks !!!! Good BF advisor 😉😉

Ejb86 · 05/12/2020 16:52

@SunnySideUp2020 Aww thanks! I'll be here, probably pinned underneath my little lady Grin If I didn't go through it the first time around then my friends did. Between the 3 of us, we probably had every issue under the sun!

MilsCookie · 05/12/2020 19:12

I'm really struggling with the feeding too and finding it so, so disheartening. My girls can latch but when I pump I only make around 10-15ml so they definitely wouldn't get enough. It's all because of them being prem, having a c section, and huge blood loss (I lost 1.8L 😅). It's really depressing seeing other mums in NICU pumping and getting full bottles worth, or watching them breastfeed and I'm literally sat there pumping and get a few drops. I've been prescribed a drug by my GP to try and increase my supply but if that doesn't work I think they're going to end up being fully formula fed. I'm not against formula at all, I just feel really disappointed that my body just won't make enough milk!! 😔
