OK so the title isn't the best haha but didn't want to lose you all and the other thread is filling fast! Gonna flip between the two to tag everyone and make sure I get the usernames right.

Woop woop for the head down! And for the induction!! Mini Hatepickinganame is about to join us!

Hatepickinganame · 01/12/2020 18:39

@Needallthesleep I know, so excited and nervous now. Didn't think anything was gonna happen today! Sweep was unpleasant lol but 2cm dilated apparently 🤞🤞

Are you staying in hospital now or are you home?

Hatepickinganame · 01/12/2020 19:59

I'm home, they've said to call delivery if any waters bleeding etc and given me some syringes to try expressing colostrum, apparently the actions will help produce oxytocin. She said babys head was nice and low but cervix was still very thick so time to bounce on my ball I think!!

How's it going @Hatepickinganame ? I'm in a different time zone 😜

Hatepickinganame · 02/12/2020 06:00

@calimommy its 6am here, I had my sweep nearly 12 hours ago, had a little brown discharge after and then a big fat nothing. Barely even a braxton! Saturday needs to hurry up now!

OP posts:
calimommy · 02/12/2020 06:08

Sorry to hear that! Sweeps never do anything for me either. Bummer

MummyBearBoo · 02/12/2020 07:34

My sweep last time worked after 24 hours it was on a Wednesday and I was supposed to be induced on the Monday after but the mw who did my sweep said my cervix was too thick there's no way I'd be ready for Monday -my waters broke the next day!!
Glad the head is down and you have an end date that what I like about being induced- tho I've never actually been induced but it's been planned twice so I had an end date if the babies didn't come early!

Roll on Saturday if nothing happens before! Xx

professorastrocat · 02/12/2020 08:48

Great news @Hatepickinganame ! You never know things may still kick off before Sat....get that oxytocin flowing!

Hatepickinganame · 02/12/2020 09:30

@MummyBearBoo did you have any signs before labour started? Gonna do all the old wives tales today lol nice long walk etc I mean it can only help right?!

OP posts:
MummyBearBoo · 02/12/2020 09:51

No perfectly normal day then I got a gush and that was it contractions started straight after! Xx

Hatepickinganame · 02/12/2020 14:49

@MummyBearBoo well nothing is happening here lol went for a walk, now ache like a mofo. Think I might have a nap 😴😆

@Hatepickinganame eeek so exciting!! Hopefully you go before Saturday and won't need induced!

Turns out it wasn't wind! Went to triage yesterday, baby has bruised me internally apparently with his acrobatics, didn't know this was possible! Dr said babys have been known to fracture ribs, crazy! So yea nothing can be done just have to wait for it to get better! Baby moving so much isn't helping 😂

Hatepickinganame · 02/12/2020 17:51

@whatsthecraic91 oh my god! Thats mad, although I quite believe its possible cause my little wriggler makes me cry sometimes she kicks so hard. Hope you're ok and taking it easy!!

In my news, and sorry for the slightly gross update, but I'm definitely losing my plug. Not that it means labour is imminent but I think its a good sign for induction, right?

OP posts:
professorastrocat · 02/12/2020 21:58

Def a good sign. Exciting!!

professorastrocat · 02/12/2020 21:59

@whatsthecraic91 🙀🙀 poor you, hope you're feeling a bit better and less beaten up!

MummyBearBoo · 02/12/2020 22:30

Oh dear @whatsthecraic91 - my baby was super active too and loved wedging her foot between my split stomach muscles!!
I can see by all the arm and leg movements she does now (and I had a posterior placenta) why I could feel her move all day and most of the night! Xx

calimommy · 03/12/2020 05:56

@Hatepickinganame always a good sign!! 😀🤞

whatsthecraic91 · 03/12/2020 21:51

@Hatepickinganame eeek very good sign!!

Thanks all feeling better but still a bit tender!!

Last day of work tomorrow which I am finding so strange!

MummyBearBoo · 03/12/2020 23:06

Bet you can't wait to finish @whatsthecraic91

How you getting on @Hatepickinganame? Xx

Hatepickinganame · 04/12/2020 05:40

No news here I'm afraid, still losing lots of very gross plug, and have therefore decided against dragging my oh to bed to try and kick-start things 😅 have very strong braxtons but not regularly at all. Baby kicking like crazy though and I have to ring delivery at 8.30am tomorrow to get my time to go in, so hopefully just over 24 hours left 🤞🤞

Thinking of you today @Hatepickinganame ! Hope all is well if you're in for your induction x x

Needallthesleep · 05/12/2020 20:49

Sending all the good vibes your way @Hatepickinganame. Can’t wait to hear some good news!

Hatepickinganame · 06/12/2020 01:37

Thanks guys, its not going great. Had 24hr pessary at 10.30am and nothing really happened til 7.30pm when contractions suddenly got to 3 in 10 mins, and really strong. They got worse and worse, to the point I asked for pain relief but they aren't doing anything. They were literally 2 mins apart lasting a min each for hours, and I'm still only 2cm. Theyve removed the pessary thing now to slow it down cause I was in agony and I don't think baby was coping well. Sent my oh home to get some sleep and see what happens tomorrow.

@Hatepickinganame I'm sorry to hear that! I kept checking for updates. I hope you can get some rest too. Hard work being in pain, exhausting. What's the next step? IV induction?
