OK so the title isn't the best haha but didn't want to lose you all and the other thread is filling fast! Gonna flip between the two to tag everyone and make sure I get the usernames right.

Mine always come back pretty early too. Last time was only 8 weeks PP I felt robbed tbh haha especially since baby was on me round the clock.

Hatepickinganame · 10/01/2021 00:56

Ugh i don't remember when mine came back last time. Not looking forward to that! Were 5 weeks into breastfeeding now, hoping to do 3 months exclusively then start combi feeding potentially as I don't want to be bf when I go back to work and I plan to use my kit days but we'll see!

I bet you felt robbed @calimommy I have my fingers very firmly crossed for a while again this time, was 14 months with first.

calimommy · 11/01/2021 15:09

Wow 14 months! I got to 22 weeks PP the first time. Can't remember the second but it was less and then the third time barely had a break from the Lochia and then my cycles restarted. I don't know if that means it will be short this time too but I'd hope not. I also had a coil fitted at my 6week pp check the last time so that could
Have affected it. This time DH is getting the snip so I shall be free of birth control from now on haha! Its bizarre, I want him to have it, we are done with 4 children, I do not want to be pregnant ever again, when I wake during the night to pee I think "in a few weeks I will be shattered from new born night waking, and yet when I think of the finality of the snip I think oh what wait?!? 😂🤯😂

professorastrocat · 11/01/2021 16:10

Ha yes there is something very final about the snip isn't there! My oh says he wants it done. I definitely don't want to do pregnancy again though. Probably get a dog next! 😆 I take my hat off to you with 4 kids but what a wonderful home it will be full of noise and love. How many weeks are you now?

calimommy · 11/01/2021 16:30

Definitely a dog 😂👍 we are starting building on a house back home so I'm sure that will occupy me pretty solidly soon. I've enlisted a designer because I can't see how else it can be managed from abroad but there's still a lot to consider even with their support. 28 weeks now so close but also far. 😬 I've only made it to my due date once. Hoping to go a little early. 🤞🤞🤞

Hatepickinganame · 11/01/2021 19:24

@calimommy I'm with you on the weird feeling about the snip! My oh is going to, we have 5 kids between us, Luna was my 4th. We definitely don't want anymore but it just feels so odd to think that we won't actually be able to 😳

How is everyone? @Wise0wl how's the nights going x

OP posts:
Wise0wl · 11/01/2021 22:41

Hi @Hatepickinganame nights are much better thank you! Still not perfect and it takes a while to settle him, and I’m often feeding to sleep. But we are getting some sleep! DS is feeding a LOT, is that ok? I don’t really have lots of people with kids IRL so have few reference points for what is ‘normal’ (if such a thing exists).

How are you?

calimommy · 11/01/2021 22:57

@Wise0wl I always feed them to sleep. Not much I could do to stop them falling asleep tbh 🤷‍♀️ My mother gives out to me saying Im being lazy (she's always giving out to me, I do everything wrong apparently) but it just is what it is tbh. Sometimes you just can't keep them awake during the feed.

calimommy · 11/01/2021 22:58

I meant to add, if they started to kick off after I put them down I use dummy's to distract them but not everyone likes to use those.

Hatepickinganame · 11/01/2021 23:52

@Wise0wl @calimommy yep I feed her to sleep all the time! And she feeds on average every 2 hours still, sometimes less, occasionally longer. I was wondering if I should start stretching feeds out a little 🤔 I don't think there's a one size fits all though

OP posts:
calimommy · 12/01/2021 00:31

@Hatepickinganame absolutely, all babies and their families are different! X

MummyBearBoo · 12/01/2021 11:18

Either sleep regression had started a couple of weeks early or my baby is broken from 6.30pm last night til 8am this morning she woke up 6 times and didn't sleep in her own bed for longer than two hours at a time! Hope this was a one off- I've been lulled into a false sense of security I think xx

Hatepickinganame · 12/01/2021 13:06

So I've started putting the munchkin in the travel cot and she sleeps so much better overnight, someone please reassure me that its OK for her to sleep in it for the foreseeable future! I've looked online and can't find a decent mattress to fit it, they all seem to be too thick? Driving myself insane with mum guilt right now 🙄

OP posts:
MummyBearBoo · 12/01/2021 15:27

Mine's in the travel cot she's too long for the Moses basket we did get a better mattress to fit -it's like a bassinet at the mo as it's on the higher level she'll be going in a cot bed in a couple of months anyway xxx

calimommy · 12/01/2021 15:30

@Hatepickinganame travel cots are perfect, don't spend another moment feeling badly. I use a rocker chair for the first few months. It lies almost completely flat -with just a small lowered bit for their bum. It helps massively with reflux and they sleep so well in it. I've just never been able to get my babies to sleep on a very flat surface -mainly reflux related I think. Its quite big and clunky, not your average light rocker and tbh doesn't even rock 😂. Rio Concord or something. Anyway it's been a life saver. I was hugely anxious with the first guy so I had it looked at by a paediatrician and they thought it was perfectly fine, met any issues they could consider.

Hatepickinganame · 12/01/2021 16:36

@MummyBearBoo mine doesn't have the bassinet, its a pain reaching in and out to get her but she sleeps so much better! I'm just worried about how hard that mattress is. I've found mattresses that will fit but not sure on the thickness in a travel cot? And @calimommy thanks, I don't remember worrying this much before!

OP posts:
calimommy · 12/01/2021 23:13

@Hatepickinganame the anxiety never goes I don't think anyway! 😂🤷‍♀️ each time you think, but if I do this WILL THEY DIE? 🙈🙈🙈

Wise0wl · 12/01/2021 23:39

@calimommy @Hatepickinganame thank you both. That’s so reassuring!

@MummyBearBoo so sorry, I hope tonight is better for you!

MummyBearBoo · 13/01/2021 09:51

It was better but she took a while to go to sleep in her own bed she was asleep on me for a bit after feeding and it was quite late when I could put her down in her own bed - she only woke up once in the night again but it was 2am so didn't really get a good stretch like I used. It took me an hour to put her back in her bed after feeding her at 2am. She used to wake up at 3am or 4am if at all! Xx

MummyBearBoo · 14/01/2021 00:17

So actually haven't got my period? Had a couple of days with light brownish discharge sorry if TMI so assumed AF was starting but then it's stopped? Xx

professorastrocat · 15/01/2021 08:35

Babies don't generally like flat surfaces 😅 but that is what's recommended so if she sleeps well in it, great! @Hatepickinganame
My girl starts the night in her side car cot and usually around 2 or 3am wakes and more recently I've just been keeping her (safely) in the bed. It's not for everyone but done safely I get much more sleep as if she wakes again I just feed her and go back to sleep.
Also the mattress for the cot is really hard! So I wouldn't worry about travel cot one being hard.

professorastrocat · 15/01/2021 08:38

I think they can start and stop for a bit before starting properly @MummyBearBoo but fingers crossed it wasn't anything! See doc if concerned?

Does anyone know about baby jabs? We've had our 12 weeks ones cancelled today cos of snow (she's 13 weeks) and they can't rearrange until she's 15 weeks. They said it's fine, but seems late!?

MummyBearBoo · 25/01/2021 23:54

4 month sleep regression is horrible she's not settling down til like 11pm if I'm lucky she just wakes up at 4 then 6 but 1 night she woke up 6 times -a few nights have been like last night where she wakes up 1am then 4 then 6am -it seems worse coz I'm used to her only waking up once or not until 6am!!
Shes rolling from front to back but shes funny coz sometimes she rolls onto her side then stays like that for a bit before going onto her back -she chats loads and her laugh is well cute! She usually wakes me by shouting instead of crying too! She won't take a dummy or a bottle but I'm not EBF after 6 months!! Xx

Hatepickinganame · 26/01/2021 07:54

Hi all! How is everyone doing?

@MummyBearBoo ah sorry you're having a rough time of it at the mo, Luna has only just started having a 3-4 hour block of sleep at night. Shes in her actual cot now and settles so much better. We have our 6 week check up today (shes 7 weeks though) so hoping all is good. Weve tried giving her bottles of expressed milk and she hates it, so going to try again when my oh is off work in Feb as wanted to start combination feeding soon. Hope everyone is doing well 💗
