OK so the title isn't the best haha but didn't want to lose you all and the other thread is filling fast! Gonna flip between the two to tag everyone and make sure I get the usernames right.

How you feeling @whatsthecraic91 ? All the best for tomorrow!!

whatsthecraic91 · 28/12/2020 22:30

@professorastrocat thank you! I'm actually really pissed off because they haven't even gave me a time yet! I called them tonight to ask & the lady on the phone was quite bitchy with me 😒 I'm really hoping for an early phone call in the morning x

MummyBearBoo · 29/12/2020 00:57

@whatsthecraic91 -good luck for oh today now!! Xxx

I'm not even up coz of the baby she fell asleep 2 hours ago on me while me and DH watched Netflix our eldest has started taking herself off to bed between 7-7.30 even tho we set her bedtime at 8 she's normally wanting to go at 7 - DH spends 5 mins reading a story and she's fast off!!

No doubt the littlest will wake me hopefully not before 3am she does occasionally sleep thru til 5am or 6am but that's the exception rather than the rule -she's 3 months old next week so not looking forward to her second imms or the 4m sleep regression! She still doesn't nap consistently she'll sleep on me fine if I put her down she'll sleep for 10-15 mins -I have stuff to do so she tends to nap little and often and is the same with feeding!! Xx

MummyBearBoo · 29/12/2020 01:00

@whatsthecraic91- I got a call at 9am telling me to go in for half 2 - I didn't need anything tho coz when the examiner me I was already 2cm and my waters broke and contractions started 5am the next morning! Xx

Hatepickinganame · 29/12/2020 02:00

@whatsthecraic91 I had to call after 8.30am on my induction day to find out what time they could take me, it was all.dependent on staffing levels that morning vs how busy they were. I literally sat staring at my phone watching the minutes tick by from about 7am 😅 good luck, hope its nice and speedy and easy for uou!

I'm currently on nightfeed 1. We went to bed at 11pm ish, she usually lasts 2 to 3 hours between feeds now which is an improvement on every hour 😅 shes getting quite sicky now and I've started giving her infacol cause she's so windy her poop was foaming due to all the air! She was weighed at 2 weeks and was 9lb so we are doing something right it seems.

How are you all doing? @Wise0wl i really hope all is well with you. @calimommy how long left for you now? Is anyone else still waiting for baby? I lose track so easily haha

@Hatepickinganame another thing to try is lactase drops -they are the enzyme which break down the lactose in milk. If you are BF then you feed for a min or so and then unlatch and drop a few drops into their mouth and then finish feeding. If you are bottle feeding then you can pop the drops into the bottle and it will break down the lactose before they drink it. It helps an awful lot to reduce wind/gas. Colief is the brand I used for my three.

I'm doing well thanks! 26 weeks now and feeling heavy. I'm either starving or full to the point of discomfort/nausea -nothing in between 😂🤷‍♀️

Wise0wl · 30/12/2020 23:18

Hi everyone I’m so sorry for taking a few weeks off - I didn’t have the birth I planned (or my plan B, or C...) and had some post birth complications resulting in an extended stay in hospital. Baby is fine and has been keeping us busy, we’ve enjoyed Christmas and I’m in the road to recovery now which is good. How are you all doing? I bitterly regret not getting more sleep when I was pregnant 😅

Hope you’re all well and belated Happy Christmas!

calimommy · 30/12/2020 23:58

@Wise0wl good to hear from you! Glad things are going well now even if they didn't before. Tell us all about it when you have the energy. Don't worry, you will sleep again someday! I dont make babies who sleep. I can confirm you don't die from tiredness even though you think you will xxx

professorastrocat · 31/12/2020 09:15

@Wise0wl congratulations and don't be sorry, we've just wondered how you were. Pleased you're recovering ok and sorry things sounded stressful. Hope you're being looked after!

@whatsthecraic91 looking forward to news! 😊

MummyBearBoo · 31/12/2020 14:37

Congratulations @Wise0wl glad your recovering and baby is ok!! Looking forward to hearing from you @whatsthecraic91 xx

whatsthecraic91 · 01/01/2021 08:40

Hey all!!

Baby boy arrived at 1.42am on New Year's Eve. Had to have an emergency section in the end. Induction went fine went from waters breaking to 10cms in about 6 hours but in the end he just didn't want to come out! He's absolutely perfect and weighed 7lbs exactly! Hoping to get home around midday! Happy new year everyone x

MummyBearBoo · 01/01/2021 15:27

Congratulations @whatsthecraic91 glad he arrived safely and you'll be able to go home soon! Xxx

MummyBearBoo · 01/01/2021 15:31

Happy new year all!! At least for us 2020 wasn't such an awful year coz we have our babies either born or still utero! Xxx

calimommy · 01/01/2021 17:12

@whatsthecraic91 amazing news so pleased for you xxx

Hatepickinganame · 02/01/2021 16:40

@Wise0wl @whatsthecraic91 ah so happy for you both, congrats guys! How are we all getting on? Luna finally seems to be lasting more than 2 hours between feeds 😅 can't believe she's 4 weeks old tomorrow!

Congratulations @whatsthecraic91 fab news!! Hope you're home and settled with your lovely boy x

calimommy · 02/01/2021 21:09

This is a side topic but are you all in Birth Month baby groups on FB? I didn't join any for the first two babies but did for my last one and it's still going. I joined one this time and I have to say I think I'm at saturation point with it 🙈😂 it's being 'run' by quite a domineering administrator. Halp I can't be the only person to be exhausted by online groups 😂 Obviously I spend more time online thanks to the year that's been in it but my goodness! Have any of you ever left a group for this reason? 🤯 some of the women are lovely but I cba anymore.

MummyBearBoo · 02/01/2021 23:23

Izzy is still eating lots almost all day- but usually only wakes once a night between 2-3am but some days she does sleep thru til 5-6am -on New Year's Day she woke at 6am for a feed went back down at 7am and slept til 11am so when she woke me up it was almost lunch time DH was looking after our 4yo downstairs!

MummyBearBoo · 02/01/2021 23:38

Had to upgrade our baby to the travel cot in our room for the next 3 months as she's too long for the Moses basket it is a dual level one so she is in the higher level atm it has a sound box attached to it where you can play white noise or lullabies and tonight I put her down she was tired but fighting it so seemed wide wake I put the white noise on and it took 15 mins but she went to sleep on her own!! I don't want to get into the habit of feeding or rocking her to sleep! Xx

Wise0wl · 03/01/2021 11:48

Congratulations @whatsthecraic91! So happy your baby is here and hope you’re recovering well x

professorastrocat · 03/01/2021 20:51

I think that makes sense @calimommy if youre a bit fed up of mum groups after a while. I haven't done any this time actually though I have lots of local parent groups and friends through them. I like having this thread though, even if we don't chat babies all the time, feels like we've all been through a lot together and still standing and rocking it!

Plus we're still waiting for your little girl of course!

professorastrocat · 03/01/2021 20:54

Does Izzy have a dummy @MummyBearBoo ? If not I think you have yourself a couple of unicorn babies (with your eldest taking herself off to bed at 7 aswell 😘😉)....

I'm only joking of course and totally just jealous! Can you believe it's a year since the jan bus all started.

MummyBearBoo · 03/01/2021 22:01

She won't take a dummy ( much to my annoyance) and she is funny about bottles (will take a max of 2oz so I can't have alcohol after 9 months of not having any!) if I express unlike my eldest who was great with both!

My eldest takes herself off to bed now but it took us about 3 years to get there as a baby she woke every 2 hours and would hardly ever sleep in her own bed when she got her junior bed she'd come into our room in the middle of the night and get in our bed and go back to sleep or she'd want us in her room! Then she'd want loads of stories and it used to take up to 2 hours to get her to sleep so she's not always been such a good sleeper! Xx

calimommy · 03/01/2021 22:20

@MummyBearBoo you can drink, and you don't have to wait several hours to feed. Previously they believed alcohol went into the breast milk at the same rate as blood but in fact very little if any does and it dissipates within a short period. So no need to pump and dump either. The main reason women are encourage not to feed and drink alcohol is related to risk of injury to baby from mishandling ie, dropping baby or falling asleep in an unsafe situation.

Hatepickinganame · 03/01/2021 22:24

@MummyBearBoo luna has been a fussy one with dummies, the only one she will take are the mam ones. (We've had to tommee tippee, boots airflow, cheap coop ones, I literally have a dummy store 😅) shes not the biggest fan of it still but it helps settle her occasionally 😅 never thought it would be an issue as my other 3 all loved a dummy 🤪 she just very much prefers boob to anything else!

How's everyone coping with the latest tier rules? We've just gone into 4 here from 3, so not a massive difference but my eldest is off school for an extra two weeks now. Starting to worry that she will struggle with her gcses if this carries on!
