@Hatepickinganame shocking isn't it how fast it goes. 2 months on Sunday for us.
Go with the night cluster feeding in these early days if you can, great for boosting your supply and doesn't mean she'll always sleep this way. I slept during the mornings with dd for a good few weeks til I was getting a bit more sleep at night.
Is she still getting some longer feeds in?

@Needallthesleep did you have an ok night in the end!? We have our jabs next week.

@DPSawMyUsername that's awesome re his weight. Was the tongue tie cut straight away?

DPSawMyUsername · 11/12/2020 10:34

@Hatepickinganame I don't know if the pics have gone in the right date order but I just wanted to show you the cluster feeds are survivable 😆 I didnt mind him clustering even in dream mode but I'd try and get a minimum of 5 min feed each time by wiggling boob, tickling his feet or nose.

@professorastrocat It got found at week 2 I think and the referral went in the week after. We were told 4-6 week wait and got the letter through this week. 20th January it's booked for. He'll be coming upto 10 weeks 😔

@Hatepickinganame - glad feeding us going well!

We had our little chunky monkey's vaccinations on Monday 8w&6d old she wasn't actually too bad we had to give her calpol as she had a temp - only issue was with the Rota virus oral vaccine she seemed fine but then vommed everywhere so they gonna try again next time!! She weighed 11lbs 4oz on Monday she has proper chubby cheeks!

@MummyBearBoo BEAUTIFUL baby bear xx

professorastrocat · 12/12/2020 08:42

@DPSawMyUsername we have her appointment on Monday she'll be just under 9 weeks. Feeding has got a lot better though even with the tie but I'm taking her anyway for their advice. Is feeding ok for you with it? I've still an oversupply at the mo, showing no signs of settling down and she struggles with this.

@MummyBearBoo how lovely! We've some chubby cheeks here too, isn't it so lovely when they want to smile at you all the time.

DPSawMyUsername · 12/12/2020 09:25

@professorastrocat Text came through yesterday that the appointment has been cancelled 😔 No rearrangement given yet. Yeah, we've got his feeding working fine after changing positions after seeing a specialist and a couple of midwives. He's gaining weight great now so I know I don't need to panic.
Went from 8lb 8oz to 9lb 9oz in 8 days.
My boobs have been feeling drained all the time for the past few days but supply must still be fine, although was starting to worry me. Had to use the haakaa this morning because he had a near 4 hour kip last night, first time since his first night in hospital.

@MummyBearBoo Them chubby cheeks!!! 😍

professorastrocat · 12/12/2020 11:47

That's disappointing @DPSawMyUsername . How old is he now? It's normal for supply to regulate and suddenly seem lacking...nappy output and weight gain is your best indicator he's getting what he needs. Great you've had some good support though.

professorastrocat · 14/12/2020 16:14

How's everyone doing?

Does anyone have a specific savings account for their kids or have a junior ISA?
Even if it's piddly amounts I'd like to start putting something away

MummyBearBoo · 14/12/2020 16:34

We set one up for both DD coz DH's Nan gives us a lump sum for each DC when they're born then my DDad pays some into it every month and we pay some in too! They can't access it til they're 18 xx

Hatepickinganame · 14/12/2020 20:48

@professorastrocat I plan to set one up for Luna as soon as shes registered. One of her grandparents gave us £100 for her so I want to pop that away for her then I'm thinking ill add her child benefit too. Feel guilty cause irresponsible me never did this for my other 3 although eldest has a trust fund from the government, so she'll get £500 ish. Am gonna set ones up for my other 2 as well now that I'm more financially secure and level headed!

I'm good, struggling with nights. We had maybe an hour sleep last night. My oh is amazing and sent me to nap this morning, has done all the housework and cooked us dinner every day since she was born. So dreading him going back to work! Can't believe she's a week old already, time goes way too quick!

professorastrocat · 15/12/2020 13:21

Thanks both.

Sorry the nights are hard @Hatepickinganame they'll get better soon, even if sleep doesn't improve drastically very quickly, you'll get more into a swing of things. Is she sleeping and you're tag teaming or was she struggling to sleep too?

professorastrocat · 15/12/2020 13:21

Are these specific ISAs or through your bank?

MummyBearBoo · 16/12/2020 06:17

We used Childrens ISA with the Halifax xx

professorastrocat · 20/12/2020 17:34

Hope everyone's ok and if you're affected by the Xmas changes / tiers 💕

@whatsthecraic91 how's things?

@Wise0wl I hope everything is ok with you? I realised we hadn't heard ❤️

Hatepickinganame · 22/12/2020 01:23

@professorastrocat I neeeeeeeeed sleep 💤 luna is definitely a night owl. Starting to get very windy/sicky now too. I'm currently watching pitch perfect trying not to fall asleep with her on my chest where she's finally settled down. She's not asleep enough to move yet 😳 how are you doing?

Hope everything went well @wise0wl

Hey ladies sorry I've been crap on here recently 😂

Now on meds for my BP so they said at my last app I will more than likely be induced at 39 weeks! I'm seeing the consultant tomorrow so will discuss then. 39 weeks is Boxing Day so I'm more than happy for them to do it then!

Struggled for a few days on and off about if I should take the induction or head straight for csection but I've decided to try the induction first. Just scared of all the intervention that can happen with it. I am very afraid of assisted delivery!!

If anyone has any advice please 😅

Hatepickinganame · 22/12/2020 14:58

@whatsthecraic91 I probably know the answer but I'm very sleep deprived, is this baby no 1 for you? My Inductions were both really quite fast but was 3rd and 4th babies. Maybe ask them to check how favourable you are for induction (is cervix already dilating/effacing) and decide from there?

OP posts:
whatsthecraic91 · 22/12/2020 15:15

@Hatepickinganame yes 1st baby. They want to do the balloon catheter way and I've reading online it sounds like absolute hell 😅 would rather have the pessary but I don't know if they will let me! I have a list of questions as long as my arm for the consultant tomorrow 😂 I would just hate to be sitting 3/4days with failed induction then end up with a csection anyway! So hard to know what to do x

calimommy · 22/12/2020 15:48

If you are dilated at all they may just break your water and put you on the drip (which is what I had for my induction). I was 2 ish cm. baby was out 6hrs later it was quite fast. I would recommend the epidural for an induction as it's not a natural labour, in my experience anyway. My contractions went straight to 10. My other labours were spontaneous and 4&2 hrs each -honestly no matter how fast or slow it always hurts but it doesn't last forever xx so exciting!!! I'm a little anxious that this baby will be quite fast. I said to my
Husband he might want to read up a bit in case baby came at home and he looked at me and said "I WILL GET YOU TO THE HOSPITAL IN TIME" 😂😂😂

whatsthecraic91 · 23/12/2020 08:07

@calimommy ooo I never thought I could be dilated at all! Hopefully I am as I have been sitting/bouncing on my ball as much as I can & keeping active. I have been getting cramps too the last week or so. I'll find out later my app is at 3pm so have to wait all day 😢

Heard that about the drip too. I think they will recommend an epidural as it brings BP down & mine is sky high. Then I'm ready too if it turns into an emergency section

Hatepickinganame · 23/12/2020 09:19

@whatsthecraic91 good luck for today! Hope all goes well. I will say I was only 1cm so they gave me a pessary as they couldn't break my waters, the contractions were strong but manageable for a few hours, I don't rate morphine or whatever it is as it didn't take the pain away and just made me so sleepy in between. I've never wanted anything besides gas and air, which they wouldn't let me have until I was in established labour (after the early false start I was contracting regularly from like 5am, no one examined me until 9.30 ish and I was 8cm from 2cm at 1am. I was literally begging for gas lol) and if it happened again I'd refuse to have the morphine. Not sure on others experiences of it but I hated it and id say def go for the epidural instead.

OP posts:
MummyBearBoo · 24/12/2020 00:26

Morphine makes me sick every time I've had it! Doesn't take the pain off. I had an early epidural about 2 hours in as a precaution coz I can't have GA's but by the time the pushing but came it had warn off I didn't want them to increase the dosage coz I wanted to be able to feel when to push but when I got to -10cm she stopped moving down and my contraction stopped I just thought sod waiting an hour to see if she moves she's coming out and i pushed her out with just gas and air - my contractions didn't seem to come back it was hard to tell coz once I'd moved her a bit further down I could feel the pressure of her head and had stomach and back pain anyway so I just pushed whenever! I was much more exhausted this time than with my first even though my labour was 12 hours shorter!
Good luck xx

professorastrocat · 24/12/2020 15:36

How did you get on @whatsthecraic91 ? Hopefully you feel more informed from the consultant appointment? I think it's important that you understand all benefits and risks of induction, obviously if it's for your health and baby's health that's very important. But informed is best!

whatsthecraic91 · 24/12/2020 15:54

Hey!! Being induced on 29th Dec I'm so excited 👏🏼 having the pessary which I am a lot happier with. Baby will be here to see the end of 2020!

Hope you all have a lovely Christmas! xx

professorastrocat · 24/12/2020 16:31

Ah brilliant, glad you're happy with it all and it really won't be long until you see your baby! 😃
