@Buzz22 I've been told I can have a sweep anytime I'm sure MW will be able to do it tomorrow if you want.

I'm 40+4 no sign of anything yet..

NWnature · 08/10/2020 17:06

@StrawberrySprinkles I keep getting nervous about movement too 😬 but trying to hold my nerve as don’t want an induction and I have struggled with movement the whole time so nothing new! Heartbeat was ok at appointment. Our babies will probably be able to scan their own bumps by the time they have kids 😂

@Viletta and @Buzz22 I can definitely have a sweep at 41 weeks however I’m wondering whether they will offer one at my post dates clinic this Saturday when I will be 40 weeks exactly. Not sure if they will or if it’s just acupressure, aromatherapy and massage. I’m still feeling patient at the moment and enjoying the relaxation and lounging about to be honest! Making the most of it!

Viletta · 08/10/2020 17:24

@NWnature it's nice that you are feeling well. Enjoy it, the baby will come soon one way or another. I'm getting really heavy, achy and tiered but trying enjoy my days as well. Acupuncture and aromatherapy sound really nice and relaxing!

NWnature · 08/10/2020 17:40

@Viletta yes totally appreciate I’m lucky to not have SPD or anything - or indeed any other kids to look after as that must be bloody impossible!!!! remind me, is it your first baby and do you know if you are having a boy or girl?

I know the post dates clinic sounds way too good to be true doesn’t it!? I’ll report back- probably will end up being a nightmare.

I’ve just ordered a crochet pumpkin newborn hat off Etsy !

FourPlasticRings · 08/10/2020 17:45

@Otterbaby That's great news! Congratulations on the birth of baby Olive.

Good luck to those still waiting. @Buzz22 I think it depends on your trust, but as far as I know most do offer sweeps at 40 weeks.

Thanks for the congratulations and a bit congratulations and well done to anyone I've missed out- I read through the thread and make a mental note of who to say what to but I've always forgotten by the time I reach the bottom! Mumsnet needs a reply to comment function for this type of thread.

Viletta · 08/10/2020 17:57

@NWnature aww I was also thinking of little Halloween outfit. I'm having a little boy, first time mum pregnant after IVF, we tried for about 4 years I think on and off. So due date should be accurate but he's not out yet 🤷🏻‍♀️

NWnature · 08/10/2020 18:07

@Viletta ahh lovely yes I remember now! So so exciting!!!! Bet you guys cannot wait. He is probably just mega cosy in there. I was quite tempted by the bat outfits too 😆 but thought could get away with pumpkin hat as autumnal attire on walks maybe ?! Will keep everything crossed things get going for you over the next few days 💗

Viletta · 08/10/2020 18:09

@NWnature thank you, lovely 😊 we can't wait to meet him! Do you know if you're having a boy or a girl? When is your due date?

MummyBearBoo · 08/10/2020 19:26

Congrats @otterbaby xx

CharlieBalf · 08/10/2020 21:02

Big congratulations to all the new mums! Love all pictures of the little ones...all so different and perfect on their own way.

I'm struggling a little with BF- Rufus can't latch without a nipple guard but he really grumbles about it. Expressing some, around 40ml each time, and obviously he much prefers the bottle! Am now in engorged and have a painful lump under my arm 😭 Hope everyone be else is doing better than I am!

Zaalfruit · 08/10/2020 21:15

Congrats @otterbaby - I love the name Olive !! ( it was on our short list)

We went for the name Sophia - because my husband thought she looked like a Sophia when he did skin to skin. My husband cried when I gave birth because I was so exhausted I couldn’t do skin to skin .

Anyone thinking of doing the sweep - I had the sweep done and within 24 hours I gave birth - I was already 3cm when they did the sweep for me at exactly 40 weeks. The sweep feel really weird I didn’t know what to expect - my sister in law had the sweep done and she really put me off as they accidentally broke her waters which meant they kept her in on her 40 week appointment she was so mad .

( girls - I tried to bf it’s so hard - )

LostinAusten2 · 08/10/2020 21:21

Just wanted to say sympathies to @CharlieBalf and @Zaalfruit - my little one is willing to BF but won’t take a bottle yet so I’m pretty sleep deprived ☹️ and on antibiotics for possible infection - it really is hard work! x

Spark27 · 08/10/2020 21:27

My little one seems to be getting breast feeding too, which surprised me as it didnt happen with my older daughter. But that might have been because of her being in SCBU and me being scared of the tubes. I want to do it for a few months at least, but its bloody difficult. Not knowing how much they're getting, cluster feeding, waking up with engorged and painful boobs, etc. And it's difficult for my DH too as he wants to be able to help more and was used to feeding and bonding with my other daughter. But ultimately fed is best, and if it's too difficult or I reach a point where I want to move on I will happily go to formula. xx

BettyBotter1 · 08/10/2020 21:27

Hi all, I have a couple of pages of posts to catch up on, but wanted to say congratulations to everyone who has had their baby and tell you my baby girl arrived this afternoon. Absolutely in love 😊

Thinking of everyone still waiting x

FourPlasticRings · 08/10/2020 21:39

Awww, congratulations @BettyBotter1!

booroo · 08/10/2020 23:05

Haven't read the full thread yet as exhausted but my baby girl (name undecided 🙈) was born 5.35 this evening after induction started late yesterday evening she is gorgeous!
Will write about her birth tomorrow,
Good luck everybody who's labouring or waiting xx

Spark27 · 08/10/2020 23:26

Congratulations @Bettybotter1 and @booroo xx

FourPlasticRings · 08/10/2020 23:41

Congratulations @booroo! We're getting to the last babies now.

StrawberrySprinkles · 09/10/2020 01:30

Congratulations @BettyBotter1 and @booroo! 💛

@NWnature glad to hear your baby’s heartbeat was all good and the clinic on Saturday sounds really lovely - a good way to relax hopefully! I often think how great it would be to be able to peek in there and check baby’s all okay 😅 Baby has been moving quite a lot for the last couple of hours so feeling more reassured (though trying not to worry about “excess” Fetal movement 🙃 there’s no winning!)

LexiM · 09/10/2020 03:26

Congratulations @booroo and @BettyBotter1 - hope you are both doing ok and cant wait to hear more about your girls!

@Zaalfruit lovely name Sophia. I am tempted to take a sweep if I get to 40 weeks, wasnt sure but I've had enough now so if it could help!

@StrawberrySprinkles I also find it hard not to over analyse every movement right now, whilst they are so important, I feel like I have nothing better to do than overly think right now!

Hope for those still establishing bf that it's going well and all the new mums are getting some sleep.

Aquablue1123 · 09/10/2020 03:29

Ahh yay @booroo @BettyBotter1 congratulations! Enjoy your newborn bubble!
❤️🥰😘 xxx

Zaalfruit · 09/10/2020 05:05

@LostinAusten2 dd here takes both - but with breast it’s more comfort she falls asleep in 2 seconds and leaves to stay latched on. For example she has been on my left boob for 20 mins if I pull away she hold on tight and starts sucking .

Deffo congrats in order to all the new baby’s born!! Well done mummies and babies xx

@booroo deffo I’m a ftm and I got it done - I really didn’t expect much but I got it done and I also booked for another one three days later. ( I didn’t need it - as she was born in 24 hours ! ) Also the week leading up to the baby I did really long and fast walks - everyday I found it harder as I could feel more and more pressure.

Zaalfruit · 09/10/2020 05:07

Sorry not @booroo - meant to be @LexiM - lack of sleep is making me crazy . And thank you about the name - I know it’s quite common and lots of girls in her year would have it - but it just suits her so much .

marauder1994 · 09/10/2020 05:17

Frankie sleeps all day but is just wide awake in a night. Currently been up: 10:30, 11:30, 12:30, 1:30, 2:45, 4:00 and now another feed! Exhausted

Zaalfruit · 09/10/2020 06:19

Ooh @marauder1994b that sounds so tiring I just leave her on the boobs it’s just too much effort un latching her - 3am dh woke me up till 5am she was having milk on and off. Also I think she is getting a cold her breathing seem so off :(

@LostinAusten2
OMG i don’t know what’s wrong with me - i wanted to ask - how long on the antibiotics that must be sooo tough :(

In terms of pumping - do I need to strerlize after every pump all the bits?
