I had a lovely experience with Window to the Womb - maybe it's hit and miss? Hope your time there is as positive as mine. They were very informative and took their time. No rushing in and out like at the hospital scan Smile

DSP21 · 05/10/2020 10:55

@chloxhunt I think it's just the Watford branch that seems to be really hit and miss. When I complained on the phone they went back and explained all this info about baby and babys position that wasn't communicated to me at all in the scan. It was more like 'there's baby, strong heartbeat, all done'

Like woah wait a sec, let us absorb this for a sec!

chloxhunt · 05/10/2020 11:05

@DSP21 ohhh really?? That's kinda want my emergency scan was like on Friday tbh they showed me the screen but only for like 2 seconds 🙄

DSP21 · 05/10/2020 11:08

@chloxhunt my emergency scan and nhs scan too :( I haven't had a single decent experience yet and so feel like i'm missing out, alongside hubby not being able to attend, and the liklihood of no gender reveal or baby shower (I know there are worse things going on in the world) I just feel like the experience isn't quite what I expect so far!

chloxhunt · 05/10/2020 11:16

@DSP21 yeah I know what you mean! It's a special time and they should be making us feel special!

motleymop · 05/10/2020 13:44

@chloxhunt @SnickerdoodleSnek I'm going to the Chessington one on Saturday

chloxhunt · 05/10/2020 14:06

@motleymop oh really? I'm going to the Southampton one

SnickerdoodleSnek · 05/10/2020 14:55

@motleymop Leicester for me! We'll have to report back with our experiences 😊

SnickerdoodleSnek · 05/10/2020 14:57

@loobyloo1234 So glad you've had a good experience! Honestly we originally booked the scan wanting to know what we're having but right now, all I want to see is our baby alive and healthy, as I'm finding 2nd Tri hard with no symptoms but no bump to show for it either yet. Finding out the sex is just a bonus.

motleymop · 05/10/2020 15:11

@SnickerdoodleSnek Same - I just really want to know everything is OK in there!

SnickerdoodleSnek · 06/10/2020 13:08

@motleymop Me too. Honestly everyone is posting these lovely baby bumps they're getting and I feel like I'm not getting one. I'm a big gal anyway so I know it won't be as easy to spot as others who are slimmer, but I look at myself and don't really see any changes. It's making me more and more nervous about the scan in case it's not good news. But I just want to know whether all is okay, I couldn't wait until 20 weeks for that.

ArtemisBean · 07/10/2020 06:53

Could I have the Facebook link too please? :)

loobyloo1234 · 08/10/2020 10:43

@SnickerdoodleSnek

Hope your experience is good too. I always feel so rushed at the NHS ones tbh so for me it was worth paying a bit more to have the relief of seeing all was ok - and obviously my partner could be there (local hospital still not letting partners in until 20 week where I am)

Has everyone joined the FB group now? I don't use it so I may just have to talk to myself on this group instead haha

chloxhunt · 08/10/2020 10:55

@loobyloo1234 yeah mine was rushed on Friday and I was there to be assessed for a miscarriage

loobyloo1234 · 08/10/2020 11:26

Thats really sad @chloxhunt - I know to them we are probably just a production line of Mum To Be's - but each time, I have left thinking I cant even remember what they said as it is quick, nothing is really explained and you're just left with a quick scan pic. Maybe if I werent a FTM it wouldnt bother me as much as I'd be more used to it?

chloxhunt · 08/10/2020 11:31

@loobyloo1234 I know what you mean! They only told me I had a bleed they didn't even explain it to me and I only saw the screen like 3 seconds

loobyloo1234 · 08/10/2020 11:40

Not being able to have our partners in with us I guess just heightens it all for me. As I'm lying there crying most of the time - emotional wreck haha - so I cant take it in. Then my OH asks me all these questions and I'm like 'I cant remember' ... not fun

SnickerdoodleSnek · 08/10/2020 15:14

@loobyloo1234 Would it help if you took a little notebook in and took some notes? I know it's not ideal but it'll help both you and DP take it all in a bit better after the appointment. You could even ask your MW or sonographer to tell you what to write down.

PeggySue83 · 08/10/2020 16:00

I went to Window to the Womb in Hitchin for the early scan and then for the gender/reassurance scan at around 17 weeks and despite the god awful name, they have been great. Sorry to hear the Watford one hasn't been a great one. Are there other Herts mums(-to-be) here? I'm in WGC.

ArtemisBean · 08/10/2020 21:15

@loobyloo1234 Is your partner not allowed in to appointments where you are? I had a letter come through to say DH could join me for everything after the 16-week appointment, just not before. Maybe different areas have different rules?

Sinead543 · 08/10/2020 21:32

Finally found a March thread!!Grin

Due March 3rd with baby boy💙

Sinead543 · 08/10/2020 21:35

Anyone else with an anterior placenta and not feeling movement yet(19weeks)? I’m just waiting everyday fo feel something :(

Thack · 09/10/2020 06:34

Hi @Sinead543 I'm only 16wks (due end of March) and haven't felt anything yet. Is this your first? I've seen posts on here saying it's easier on the next babies because you know what to feel for.

My partner isn't allowed into scans, I haven't asked about MW appointments (they seem quite dull. He'd be bored and I'm happy to get on with it!). His mate had a baby two days ago, he was sent away for a couple of hours until labour had established (I don't know details). I hope it changes. We're in a lockdown area, but the hospital hadn't relaxed the rules in between anyway.

Dipsy77 · 09/10/2020 06:36

@Sinead543 when my midwife used the Doppler for heartbeats at 16 week appointment she said one of my placentas is anterior. It's weird as I can feel baby on my left but not on my right. I'm 17+4 and can't wait to feel movement of other twin xx

Sinead543 · 09/10/2020 08:24

@Dipsy77 Congratulations on your twins! I get a stitch feeling on my left where his legs would be(if he hasn’t turned since last scan 2 weeks ago) but when I looked online it said that’s not what it feels like, I do get the “bubble” feeling but I’ve had BAD painful trapped wind the whole pregnancy so I don’t know if that’s just gas.

@Thack Yeah this is my first, like I said above I have felt sensations in my stomach but is it round ligament pains? Is it gas? Who bloody knows LOL I’m getting more and more anxious about the birth knowing that I will be doing most of it on my own potentially, even when he is finally allowed in the room there’s nothing like your mamas support :( so I’ll definitely have to have her on FaceTime lol.
