I’m very early with this! I found out yesterday I’m pregnant, due 1st June.

Anyone else with me yet? Smile

@Sitchervice

I find it really odd that my midwife won't be calling me till the 1st of December??
My first prenatal isn't until Dec 3rd, so I'll be 11.5 weeks at that time. They told me that there wasn't much they could do before then (other than verifying the pregnancy) and didn't want to risk exposing me to Covid unnecessarily. It's made me really anxious because this is my first pregnancy and would have liked to see the doctor between 7-8 weeks. If nothing else, for peace of mind
lucieloos · 13/10/2020 22:19

Hi there, can I join please! I'm 41 and 3+6 tomorrow with baby no 3. This is our first ever natural bfp after many rounds of ivf for our first 2 babies so we were really shocked. Feeling nervous too as it's such early days and hoping everything goes smoothly. Will book an early scan for around 7.5 weeks if all goes well.

SkittyKat · 14/10/2020 07:07

Congratulations @lucieloos, how brilliant to conceive naturally! I’m 41 as well and this is my third, except this is our IVF baby and my other two were naturally conceived (with my ex).

How old is everyone, and is this your first pregnancies or have you got other children?

Finallybfp · 14/10/2020 07:26

Congratulations @lucieloos that’s amazing. I’m 29 atm , I’ll be turning 30 the day before I hit 12 weeks. I’m hoping I can have my 12 week scan on my birthday, I probaby won’t be able to though .I’m probably going to be accepting lots of alcohol presents off family etc and they won’t even know I’m pregnant yet lol Blush x

Penny2020 · 14/10/2020 07:31

@lucieloos I just turned 34 a few days after my BFP and got about 5 bottles of red wine! Really nice ones too that I now can only stare at wishfully for 8 months!
Second pregnancy for me, but my first one sadly ended in a MMC so trying to stay positive for this one.

Ivybutterfly · 14/10/2020 08:00

Congratulations @lucieloos

I am 39 and on my third. Xx

Scarftown · 14/10/2020 08:11

35 and 1st. I’ll turn 36 day after my 12 week scan.

Bulz · 14/10/2020 08:15

Hi, I'm 9 weeks pregnant went for a scan when I was 7 weeks I'm seeing my midwife again today, I'll be seeing her biweekly since I'm high risk I've had 2 miscarriages the sec one was in April this year. To be honest the scan did help with the anxiety but I guess I will only stop worrying once I hold my baby in my arms.
Strength and joy babes

lucieloos · 14/10/2020 08:26

I'm stressing a bit really and still doing tests and I will get the odd lighter one but then when I try again a bit later it will be darker. I'm going to do another digi tomorrow when I will be 4 weeks so I'm hoping to get 2-3 weeks but I'm not sure which way it will go.

DollyParton2 · 14/10/2020 08:37

Finallybfp you’re a week ahead of me. Funny how you become jealous of people further along! Hope your scan goes well- I’ve got one next Friday at 7 weeks. I’ve told my mum and dad so far x

cd24x · 14/10/2020 09:46

Late to the party on the morning sickness chat! @jinglebells87 I'm exactly the same as you. Feel nauseous pretty much all day, eat something and get relief for 30 mins before its back again. I really struggle to eat an evening meal too, and have found sleep a struggle for the last few nights because I'm so bloated.

@Finallybfp my boobs are constantly sore, however there are days when they are worse than usual and if anyone generally breathes in my direction my nipples hurt!

I've got my booking appointment with midwife on Monday when I'll be 8+2. I'm excited but equally nervous about it! I have a high BMI so trying to mentally prepare for some sort of comment regarding my weight 😬

GeeHO98 · 14/10/2020 10:43

@Bulz hi did you have to ask for your scan? Glad your first went okay. I've just found out I'm pregnant after a miscarriage in April too I'm really anxious this time around as well so I was thinking of seeing if I can get a reassurance scan is that what yours was? Sorry for the questions I'm just wondering how it's all working at the minute

Hayz2020 · 14/10/2020 11:57

Hi all! I have been reading the thread for a while and decided it’s time to join! Found out I’m pregnant with my first baby, due 8th of June 21.
6weeks 1day pregnant.
I’m really down with the symptoms, the nausea and sickness is overwhelming. I am almost bedbound and went days unable to force myself to eat anything. After a urine sample I was told to take cyclizine and force myself to eat as I have ketones in my urine because of lack of food.
Cyclizine is making me extremely drowsy but still no appetite :(
Worried for the health of the feotus, just hoping my symptoms will settle after 1st trimester. Has anyone had previous similar experience and can give me some hope? (Ps, ginger doesn’t work for me, in fact it makes me more sick)

SkittyKat · 14/10/2020 12:07

Hi @Hayz2020 so sorry you are feeling so rough, you poor thing. I don’t have anything useful to say other than the chances are your foetus will be just fine. The growing foetuses take all they need from us so we definitely hear the brunt of feeling terrible and they are just fine! As others have mentioned, beige food is often better tolerated, dry oatcakes/crackers were ok for me in my first pregnancies when I was feeling sick but hopefully you will find something that works for you. It doesn’t really matter how unhealthy it is if you can manage something that’s great!

Sitchervice · 14/10/2020 12:39

@Hayz2020 do you think you could stomach smoothies? My sister said when she was pregnant she had bad morning sickness and recommended smoothies because it's not quite solid but gives you the energy you need

MrsK21 · 14/10/2020 13:18

@Hayz2020 I had the same experience and been diagnosed with hyperemesis. I had 2 ivs yesterday evening and feeling much better and feel the cyclizine is able to do its job now I've got some fluid. Will your a&e provide you with an IV? That was the thing that helped me improve a lot. They also gave me an injection of some anti emetics which helped. Definitely push your gp for different meds if the cyclizine isn't helping, I spoke to pregnancy sickness support (you can find them on google) who were such a help.
Yesterday was the worst I've felt and it does get better but needs to be tackled early xxx

MrsK21 · 14/10/2020 13:21

@Hayz2020 forgot to say as well, the doctor at a&e reassured me that baby will take all its nutrients from mum. And just leave us feeling like crap! But baby will be fine.

I'm also 6+1 and due on 8 June. Weird how we're both experiencing the exact same thing x

Hayz2020 · 14/10/2020 16:11

@SkittyKat @Sitchervice @MrsK21Thank you ladies so much for responding! I have been surviving off of dry crackers, I managed an apple yesterday which was a huge improvement, although I had to force myself to take the first bite, it was relieving to give my body something!
Relieving to know the foetus should be unaffected. I had heard of morning sickness before but did not know how entirely all consuming it could be, the feeling is totally miserable and every second I am awake I am just wishing for it to be bedtime again so I can pass by another day!
I think my next option would be to go down the different meds/IV route like you MrsK. So glad you are feeling better though, I can imagine what a relief it would be to feel better during this! That is weird we are on the exact same journey at the exact same time haha!
But it is strangely very comforting to know I am not alone in this. It is very lonely. My OH has been incredible, he is patient and is helping me through everything, I am just hoping I get some of my excitement back, as right now I am feeling down about it (although incredibly grateful I managed to conceive)
Thank you for the smoothie recommendation sitch.. I think after the apple yesterday that does sound like a good idea to try. I will get my OH to experiment with some different smoothie making in the morning (I haven't entered the kitchen for a week now 🤣)
Thanks all xxx

Sitchervice · 14/10/2020 16:13

@Hayz2020 it's no problem at all! Let us all know how you get on. It seems so unfair that some people suffer more than others with morning sickness :(

Hayz2020 · 14/10/2020 16:14

I also read somewhere online (in case anyone reading this is going through the same) that eating ice lollies and ice cubes mixed with a tiny bit of squash is a good way to keep your system hydrated and put sugars into your body if things are really difficult (obviously mixed with seeking medical help)
As this is my first baby I have no idea what the feeling of being a mum is like, so I am starting to think "oh no what have I done, I already miss my old life" but I keep being told it is totally worth it!

scrambledeggy · 14/10/2020 16:36

Happy is the wrong word, but I'm glad to see others surviving off crackers and fruit as my other half is baffled at my inability to eat hot food and thinks I must be absolutely nuts. It's my first pregnancy that's gotten this far (about 7 weeks), so I've never had the joy of morning sickness before. Hope it eases for all of us soon.

A tip for those suffering with breast pain: check your cup size with a tape measure to see if it hasn't gone up. Mine's gone up somewhere between 1 and 2 sizes already, and putting on a correctly-sized bra today has relieved A LOT of my pain.

I'm 25 and this is technically my second pregnancy, with the first one having sadly ended around week 5. I will be relying on all of your worldly wisdom to get me through this Grin

@Hayz2020 I know what you mean about the early feelings of regret, I wasn't expecting to feel this sick, and that combined with MC worries are not making me feel great tbh. I think once I am (hopefully) passed 12 weeks I will allow myself to be a little more hopeful.

Caitoliver · 14/10/2020 16:53

Hey! I'm due 21st of June 🥳

Sitchervice · 14/10/2020 17:04

@Hayz2020 I've not had much of an apitite so I've been drinking Berry water. Frozen berries in a glass of water.

Sitchervice · 14/10/2020 17:04

@Caitoliver welcome congratulations :)

bex757 · 14/10/2020 17:34
