I’m very early with this! I found out yesterday I’m pregnant, due 1st June.

Anyone else with me yet? Smile
@SkittyKat I feel the same way!!! I imagine everything has changed!
I've just seen your elder two are about the same ages as mine! Yes it does feel as though it's all different - I'm hoping my body can remember what to do if nothing else!

Sitchervice · 13/10/2020 16:40

I find it really odd that my midwife won't be calling me till the 1st of December??

GeeHO98 · 13/10/2020 17:59

Hi I'm new rough due estimate 21st June does anyone know what's happening in regard with midwifes with covid going on?

Finallybfp · 13/10/2020 18:28

I live in Northumberland When I rang the midwife to arrange first appointment today she said they were really busy atm . I have an appointment next Wednesday where I have to go into the clinic for bloods taken . She then said she will ring me on Thursday to complete the first appointment by asking me questions over the phone . There trying to limit the amount of time you spending the clinic so only going when needing bloods or scans etc .

PabsyPops · 13/10/2020 18:54

Sorry TMI but anyone else seriously constipated? Or have any advice?

Coffee4me · 13/10/2020 19:07

Welcome new joiners! 👋

I'm also going to be staying here and not planning to join Facebook group. So good if this stays active as well

Finallybfp · 13/10/2020 19:26

I’m also staying in this group not the Facebook group! Smile

Jinglebells87 · 13/10/2020 20:05

Hi everyone. What's everyone's morning sickness like? Mine is pretty much all day. I feel sick so I don't eat. Then I get so flipping hungry that I do eat, feel fine for about 30 mins and then go back to feeling sick!
I'm sticking to small meals and trying to snack in between but I'm still either really sick or really hungry! It's driving me mad!!

DollyParton2 · 13/10/2020 20:10

My GP told me to self-refer to my hospital- did this online last Friday and today- so 4 days later already received my pack in the post. My booking in appointment is in person next week, scan on 1st December (my DS, 6 birthday!). Incredibly impressed at how quickly they’ve booked me in!

Re. sickness my body rarely ever lets me be physically sick but I’ve got pretty much all day nausea- worse in evening. Horrid. Remembered had this with my other DC. I’ve got such a huge appetite/ look forwards to meal planning usually but right now can only manage the simplest of foods.

Finallybfp · 13/10/2020 20:11

@Jinglebells87 I just tend to have a slight sickness in the mornings when I wake up , I’ve been eating a ginger biscuit when I first get up as I heard ginger is good for sickness and tbh it seems to be helping me . Is anyone else’s nipples sore to touch ? X

DollyParton2 · 13/10/2020 20:15

finallybfp yep mine! 🙋‍♀️

swiftt · 13/10/2020 20:17

@Finallybfp oh gosh yes, mine are sooo sensitive!

Suite88 · 13/10/2020 20:20

@Jinglebells87 I'm the same. I've ordered some sickness bands and they arrived this evening so going to see if they help at all.

Jinglebells87 · 13/10/2020 20:22

@Finallybfp I tried ginger biscuits in my last pregnancy and I just don't like them (even when not pregnant, lol). I'm eating a lot of Satsumas and drinking lemon squash.
@DollyParton2 I am the same in that I'm never actually sick. It's driving me nuts though. I'm trying to keep distracted because as soon as i stop it just gets worse! And that's exciting you have your first appointment and scan already booked!

Finallybfp · 13/10/2020 20:32

@DollyParton2 - when are you due ? Just with you having your scan already booked ?
I’ve got my first appointment next week but I’m going to have to tell my manager ( before ive even told my parents) tomorrow that I’m pregnant so she can arrange my shift for me to be able to go , I work in a nursery . Don’t want to tell anyone else at work until I’ve had my 12 week scan. Has anyone else told there employer ?

DollyParton2 · 13/10/2020 20:38

Finallybfp am due 11 June. So 5+4. When are you due?
I’m still WFH 3 days a week so will just go to scan/ take phone and reply to odd email waiting for my appointment. So won’t tell anyone at work then. Totally appreciate different for you in nursery.

Jinglebells87 · 13/10/2020 20:48

I told my work last week. I was getting really anxious about what my boss would say as I've only been there a couple of years (he was so lovely about it). I'm quite an open and honest person and so I would rather they know.
I also wanted to have a plan for when I go on maternity (I know its ages away but no one else can take over my role and I got pushed out after taking maternity leave at by previous employer so was feeling a little nervous). I also love my job! It's nice not having to hide it anymore and they are all looking after me.

SkittyKat · 13/10/2020 20:50

@PabsyPops

Sorry TMI but anyone else seriously constipated? Or have any advice?
I was constipated whilst having IVF and have found that prunes are helpful. I usually have some every evening. Personally I have the dried ones but the tinned ones might work quicker (as they also contain the juice). I hope it eases!
SkittyKat · 13/10/2020 20:52

I’m not sure what to do about telling my employer. According to our workplace Covid policy, pregnant women should work from home where possible (I work for the NHS) so I should probably tell my manager sooner rather than later so I can start working from home or at least not be patient facing.

What is everyone else doing about pregnancy and Covid?

Hbw18 · 13/10/2020 21:09

Morning sickness has been terrible the last couple of days. The only thing that helps is constantly eating biege food, even if I don't feel like eating. I've also been waking in the night feeling nauseous so have also been really tired which doesn't help. I'm 6 weeks 5 days I think...

Finallybfp · 13/10/2020 21:15

@DollyParton2 I’m 7 weeks on Thursday . So due 3rd June . I have a private scan booked at window to the womb on Sunday 25th October I’ll be 8 weeks 3 days . Thinking about telling my parents and my partners parents after the early scan if all looks well . Don’t feel like I can wait till 12 weeks to tell them . I won’t tell any other family or friends or work colleagues until I’ve had 12 week scan though. 😀 x

Penny2020 · 13/10/2020 21:23

@PabsyPops agree with the prune suggestion. I couldn’t sleep with the pain, I’ve been miserable, but 5 or 6 of the dried ones every morning and I’m back to normal. Isn’t pregnancy glamorous!
I’ve just booked a private scan for Sunday. I’ll be 7 weeks 5 days, I was trying to wait until after 8 weeks but the anxiety is killing me! I’m already so nervous though, not sure I’ll be getting much sleep between now and then. How am I going to do another 7 months of this?!?

Finallybfp · 13/10/2020 21:26

@Penny2020 - ooh how exciting , you’ll have to let us know how your first scan goes . I’m exactly the same , I was going to book one for this weekend but I also wanted to wait until 8weeks plus, luckily for me there was no sat or Sunday appointments left for this week so I had no other choice but to wait until the following weekend. X

Penny2020 · 13/10/2020 21:31

@Finallybfp I definitely will do. Really hoping for good news, keeping everything crossed

Kamacs12 · 13/10/2020 21:32

@Hbw18 I am the same. Only beige foods. I think I might be turning into a mini cheddar.
