DH was a trooper and brought some things over. On the machine again now and waiting for Covid result to put me on the ward. What a day. These last couple of weeks seem like a non stop rollaxoaster!

@justanothermamma me too. I'm hoping I can avoid the induction even by 1 day so I'm trying everything possible apart from eating a full pineapple haha.

Wow, and I thought my midwife was a bit much! Basically, none of the old wives tales about starting labour actually work, except possibly nipple stimulation, and even that has to be for an absurd length of time and only speeds up labour rather than bringing it on. According to QI, anyway.

@FourPlasticRings Yeah, she said they were doing studies. I had loads of sex last time because apparently the orgasm would help but they always said it was the sperm that was the thing that moved things along. But now they're saying it might be the orgasm that's better hence why she suggested 'self care' 😂. I told DH what she said about ingesting sperm and his eyes lit up like it was Christmas, I just laughed at him. If either of us are going to have an orgasm at this point, it's me, not him ahahah.

Omg @justanothermamma haha your midwife sounds amazing but yeh I'd struggle to get turned on with the big belly in the way haha.
If you do want to try involving DH I found leaning against the bed while your knees on the floor (if that makes sense) makes it easier and less painful and also the belly doesn't get in the way. Saying that I've not had it for weeks and belly size has doubled so let me know if you try it 😂

So I'm in hospital. 3 cm dilated.

Ha, ingesting sperm is not high on my to do list at the moment!
I've overdone it this evening. Whilst cooking tea I decided to scrape out all the ice from the freezer. After 35 minutes I had a washing up bowl full of ice and was stuck on the floor! Baby has been very active to make sure I know it didn't appreciate being squashed during that and my back has seized up completely! I think nesting may be starting to kick in with that...

@MrsK89 SPD and sciatica have taken any chance of sex out of the equation and the thought of 'ingesting' sperm is making me feel a bit queasy also! I could not feel less sexy at this point in time. I'll stick to walks (if I can) and spicy foods for now I think 😂.

@BntTowers My agenda consists of finishing work for mat leave and resting! DH will have to suffer I'm afraid. Bless him.

Oooh, exciting @Herondaleducks.

The thought of sex or 'ingesting sperm' is making me feel very sick. No way. I am way too uncomfortable and have no motivation for all that malarkey. Coupled with the constant wriggling baby, heartburn, backache, swollen bits, wind (both ends) I'm not sure DH would be that interested either 😅

Think I managed about a hours sleep before yay, I'm now awake again. 🙄

Thanks girls, was asked to come in and admitted at 7pm. Doc thinks this bug is virus which has ended up labrinthitis. Can't walk without help of two nurses the dizziness is so bad, had to hold onto walls getting in as partner wasn't allowed in 😖Baby is completely fine, just me. Just pray I don't go into labour as feel so damn awful 😔 Feel rotten but in best place. Hope you feel better soon @CharlieBalf and @booandbumpp. Oh v exciting @HerondaleDucks. Great news for you 💃 @otterbaby.

@Treacle81 oh no! I'm glad you phoned. That's awful your DH wasnt allowed to help you in. I hope you feel better really soon and are getting some good sleep.

Anyone got any thoughts on whether adopting upright, forwards positions actually works for turning a back to back baby? I need to encourage mine round if I can.

@justanothermamma that sounds hilarious- I am going to not mention that to dh ,he would get to excited. I have been eating pineapple, drinking pineapple juice, having spicy foods , long fast paced walks this baby does not seem ready to come out at all. I just feel so uncomfortable constantly .

@BettyBotter1 Wish I could help you , baby was transverse for me for most of the pregnancy bouncing on the ball for hours on end worked for me .

I was woken up with a steroid injection in my bum this am which was just a lovely way to wake up
I’ve managed about 2 hours sleep as babies crying and alarms beeping. I am dead on my feet but I guess I should get used to this feeling.
Injecting sperm to bring about labour def suggested by a bloke and would never have been happening in my house poor DP has been neglected for rather a while bless him!

Busy day here - getting two window panes replaced sometime this morning. I'll need to take the cats into the nursery and hide. My mum is also on her way to move in and bubble with us, was meant to be Friday but trying to avoid restrictions. A few roads are closed on the way and trying to coordinate a taxi to take her the last leg from Glasgow as it's like a covid hot tub up there. I told dh all the stress might put me in labour and he's forbidden it. He's got too much work handover so I'm to keep him sucked in until at least Monday 😹

@Treacle81 oh no poor you. Well done for going and getting seen. I had labyrinthitis years ago and it was awful then, I cant imagine suffering while being heavily pregnant. I hope you feel better soon. X

@Quiffy same here! I was determined to get baby out before Saturday but it's just not happening! I'm hoping midwife is right and induction will be easier this time round.

@MrsK89 Im with you on toilet breaks, I know baby will be hard but trying to get out of bed and waddle to the toilet every hour is so tiring. Did your induction last long last time? I have heard second can be easier 🤞🤞🤞

I'm fed up with the hassle of sleeping. It seems fairly non existent at the moment and I spend a lot of time and effort trying to roll from one side to the other to get comfortable or trying to get up for a wee. All the while DH is next to me sleeping like a baby. Fighting the temptation to smother him with a pillow or accidentally kick him when I get up.

39+3 today and no signs of anything happening. DD has got a few hours with grandma so I'm jumping on the nesting train again. Got a desire to clean the kitchen blind 😅

Just woke up to all these funny ingesting sperm messages 😂 I am not telling dp! If he doesn't want sex anymore because he feels bad for his baby then he certainly isn't getting a bj!!😂😂

Feeling happy this morning actually feel like I've had a full solid sleep!!
