Zaalfruit · 22/09/2020 17:08

@LexiM so sorry to hear the news about your dad. Sending you lots of hugs in this difficult time x

Treacle81 · 22/09/2020 17:35

Girls are any of you experiencing dizziness. I've had it on and off around a week, just put it down to this cold but it seems to be getting much worse. I've felt it sitting for the last 30 mins now, lose focus and feel like my head isn't attached to my body. It's awful. Last night was around 30 mins it lasted too, whilst sitting. I know you can get it standing up too fast, doing to much etc but surely this isn't normal? xx

justanothermamma · 22/09/2020 17:45

@LexiM I am so sorry for your loss. Sending love to you and your family. Just take this time to process everything and make sure you give yourself time to rest before baby arrives.

@Treacle81 Are you getting heart palpitations/nausea as well lovely? That's what I get with my dizzy spells and they happen mostly when I'm sitting down. I just have to drink water, lie down and breathe through it, something sugary helps too!

AutumnBabyWinterMummy · 22/09/2020 17:57

@Treacle81 have you spoken to anyone, midwife? I only would be concerned about pre eclampsia (I know that's not an actual symptom but it's sort of a bearish symptom) I would def ask someone medical. Sorry I'm sure it's all ok though.

I feel like I've been hit by a bus today, it's slightly been getting this way over the last few days. But ribs killing me, horrific back pain, spd fine now during the day but not when in bed, can't sleep properly and today new symptom of needing the toilet very urgently all of a sudden (not for a wee, sorry tmi!)
I hope I won't be feeling this way for the next 4 weeks if she's late!

How is everyone else feeling? Xx

blankiesandunicorns · 22/09/2020 17:58

@LexiM I am so sorry for your loss, but sounds like your dad went at the right time for him and you got to be there which must be a comfort to you all.

@MsSian93 @LostinAusten2 congratulations on your babies I am loving seeing the new baby posts.

Had some pains earlier this afternoon but didn't amount to anything more, wondering if she was moving further down as she was moving while I was feeling cramping. Going to keep on my feet and bouncing on my ball! Will be 39 weeks Thursday.

AutumnBabyWinterMummy · 22/09/2020 17:58

@Treacle81 I meant to say it's a *nearish symptom

CharlieBalf · 22/09/2020 18:05

I'm being kept in for observation... Totally unprepared of course, poor hubby at home with the dogs, no charger and low on battery, deep clean team coming tomorrow and the online shop at 7 AM. Hubby thinks I planned it all 😂

Another scan tomorrow and the doc said they might think about inducing? Seems a bit early at 38+4? Perhaps not.

MrsK89 · 22/09/2020 18:34

@CharlieBalf hope all goes well for you. Its not too early, I'm getting induced at 38 weeks this Saturday x

booandbumpp · 22/09/2020 18:42

Well today didn’t go how I expected. Despite being head down for 6 weeks, baby girl has flipped and is now breech. So no sweep. Potentially cancelling induction as I don’t want manipulation. My BP and baby’s heart rate was high so I was being monitored and at one point the consultant said “if baby’s heart rate is still this high in 20 minutes we’ll be going for emergency c section”. My partner has been waiting in the car for 2 hours in the car park just in case. It’s calmed down and I’m being kept in over night. I’ve had steroids and steroids again in the morning just in case I need c section before 39 weeks.
Hoping for a quiet night!
So I can’t give insight into a sweep unfortunately 😂 can tell you that a steroid injection and an anti d injection bloody sting something rotten though!

FourPlasticRings · 22/09/2020 18:43

@LexiM I'm so sorry for your loss x

@CharlieBalf once you've cleared 37 weeks they tend to err on the side of induction if there is any concern.

FourPlasticRings · 22/09/2020 18:49

@booandbumpp oh crikey, you've had quite a day! Glad everything has stabilized for now though. Are you going for an ELCS then?

I'm not going for a sweep even if I get beyond term. I've still got Group B Strep and I don't want to take the risk that the midwife might rupture the sack by mistake before I've had the IV antibiotics I'm supposed to have in labour. The NHS website says they're not painful, but it really hurt to have them check dilation last pregnancy and it's a similar manoeuvre so I'm not sure I believe them. Nonetheless, I might have gone for it if it weren't for the group B strep thing.

NWnature · 22/09/2020 18:53

Oh @LexiM so sorry for your loss. Pleased you were there with him and your family. Take care of yourself. You are so measured and brave in your posts♥️

I have nothing to report except going in for an appointment tomorrow not sure if it’s a 36 or 38 as I’ll be 37 +4. I’ve tried the nipples again for colostrum this eve but no luck thus far!

AutumnBabyWinterMummy · 22/09/2020 18:55

@CharlieBalf hope you're ok tonight x

@booandbumpp ah sounds all very eventful. You're in the best place for it. Keep calm x

booandbumpp · 22/09/2020 18:56

@FourPlasticRings that’s going to be my first choice - hoping they will do before 39 weeks as have a complicated history and suffer PTSD as a result. I’ve had the steroids so fingers crossed.
Sounds like you’ve got a good plan in place and good to know what you do and don’t want.
I had similar - in my last pregnancy I was told exams and breaking waters wouldn’t hurt and the emergency buzzer ended up being pulled for me! Worst part of the entire labour - including pushing!

FourPlasticRings · 22/09/2020 19:11

@booandbumpp Hopefully they'll get that sorted for you ASAP. I would go for the same if mine were breech.

justanothermamma · 22/09/2020 19:14

@CharlieBalf @MrsK89 My hospital won't induce any earlier than 39 weeks as apparently any sooner increases the risk of baby needing to go into SCBU for breathing. I think it depends on the trust/consultant!

@booandbumpp Oh my goodness that sounds traumatic! How are you feeling??

@FourPlasticRings All my sweeps but one hurt so I suppose it will depend on who does it! I asked for a sweep today but the rules where I am have changed, they're only allowed to sweep before 40 weeks if a consultant says you can in your notes, but there was nothing in mine, although I had 5 sweeps before 40 weeks last time! I feel oddly relieved about not having a sweep at the same time though, will just have to try other methods to get this baby out before induction.

Spark27 · 22/09/2020 19:21

Wow ladies, it's all going on.

@CharlieBalf, not too early. I was induced at 38+2 last time. Hopefully your OH can go and get some stuff to drop in to you?

What a naughty baby @booandbumpp. Cant say I blame you on not wanting the manipulation though. I find it hurts now with her moving herself let alone them doing it. Sorry the injections hurt, but at least they're getting them in just in case. If everything stays calm now are they going to scan again nearer the time to check?

MrsK89 · 22/09/2020 19:41

Ouch the needles sound painful 😬@booandbumpp how many weeks are you now?

Oo I see @justanothermamma to be fair I'm getting induced due to OC but my previous births have been latest 38+5 and thankfully no breathing problems

No new symptoms here really just a lot of thick discharge

justanothermamma · 22/09/2020 19:50

@MrsK89 I was hopeful they's induce me earlier than 39 weeks so I wasn't in pain for so long but at least they're doing it on the day I turn 39 weeks! If I can get baby to come naturally before that would be perfect though, I'm scared about induction now!! X

otterbaby · 22/09/2020 20:08

Goodness, today is eventful! @CharlieBalf hope everything goes well tonight, I wouldn't worry at all about being induced at that gestation 🙂

@booandbumpp that's bad luck about baby switching position! I don't blame you at all for not wanting them to shift her, I've heard it's very uncomfortable. Hopefully everything calms down.

I had my growth scan today and I'm pleased that I've finally been shifted down to low dependency. They offered to book an induction in but I declined - just want things to happen naturally and hopefully I'll get my water birth!

FourPlasticRings · 22/09/2020 20:17

Congratulations on the good news @otterbaby! Fingers crossed for a water birth for you.

booandbumpp · 22/09/2020 20:47

Thank you everyone. I’m feeling ok - a bit numb after stressful afternoon. Partner got to visit on the ward for an hour so that was nice at least.
I’m 36+5 weeks so steroid injections are incase of an imminent c section to try and bring lungs along!
I have a growth scan booked for Tuesday but the consultant will be round on ward round in the morning to see if they want to make another plan!
