@Treacle81 aww bless you. You're so close to meeting your little babe now, you've got this! X

MrsD1990 · 04/10/2020 16:34

Hi girls, hope everyone's doing ok. I'm struggling with the cluster feeding too - baby doesn't want to sleep for more than an hour without being fed. Let me know if you want to do a WhatsApp group - I love reading everyone's updates but really struggling to come on here now baby is around so WhatsApp might be easier! Also would be nice to have company during late night feeds!

AutumnBabyWinterMummy · 04/10/2020 16:41

@Spark27 that's great news about baby gaining weight! You must be so happy.

@BntTowers aw hope he heals soon!

@BettyBotter1 @NWnature yep can relate mine also been playing a game on his PlayStation a lot recently, what is it with fully grown men playing on a PlayStation, and if it's not the PlayStation it's football/match of the day or golf he's watching. I had to nag and nag for final jobs to be done. One more to go and hoping it'll be tomo 🤞

@Treacle81 aww no wonder you are emotional you've been in and out of hospital for days. Probably hormones everywhere. Get nice and settled in your new sunny room x

BntTowers · 04/10/2020 16:41

@Treacle81 not long now! Hopefully your DH is back with you now, it's good he can stay until baby is here. Thinking of you, you can do this!

I've just got 0.6mil of colostrum which is the most in one sitting so I'm quite proud of my boobs at the moment. I'm just hoping that it will prompt something soon as my back ache is ramping up a bit.

Treaclepie19 · 04/10/2020 16:43

I'd join in with a Facebook or WhatsApp group too 😊
Also finding it hard to keep up on here now.

You've got this @Treacle81! It is scary, but it's only one day and you can cross the bridges that come after once you're there.

@BntTowers Fingers crossed it starts something off for you. I've been breastfeeding this entire pregnancy, so I'm not going to try the colostrum harvesting thing- I don't think it works for me!

@MrsD1990 it is difficult but normal. You're doing really well. Eat all the cake x

Spark27 · 04/10/2020 17:16

A FB group could be easier as there will be separate threads for chats. Otherwise we could end up looking at WhatsApp and seeing we have 1000 messages from when other people are chatting and it just becomes difficult to scroll through them. On FB it would be more divided with comments and chats on different things. But that's just my thoughts, happy with the group decision.

Exciting @Treacle81. Hope your other half is back with you. I remember thinking 'ahhh, I'm going to have a baby' and I already have one 😅

BettyBotter1 · 04/10/2020 17:17

@Treacle81 that's great you're feeling a bit happier with a good mw. You are so close and you totally got this 👍
@BntTowers well done on the colostrum and fingers crossed it sets things in motion for you

LostinAusten2 · 04/10/2020 17:39

Sending you best wishes @Treacle81 -almost there! 🥳🥰 x

BntTowers · 04/10/2020 17:52

I agree I think a Facebook group would be easier. I can imagine a WhatsApp group getting a bit intense!

bluemoon2468 · 04/10/2020 17:54

Hi everyone, an update from me: I've been in triage this afternoon on the monitor which picked up regular contractions every 5 minutes. The midwife said they're strong and I'm coping really well, but tbh they really feel quite manageable to me. She offered me codeine but I just don't feel like I need it atm. Was told to come back once they're 3-4 mins apart - now that I'm home they're around 3-4 mins apart but tbh really quite manageable. They're like bad period pains but no worse. My Freya app is saying I've been in established labour for 45 mins now but I feel like there's just no way this is painful enough to be established labour. I don't even have a particularly high pain threshold. Don't know what to think really, but don't want to go back into hospital when I'm not really in proper labour!

Spark27 · 04/10/2020 18:00

I'd go back @bluemoon2468. I didnt believe mine was real labour or enough to go in, but they ramped up so quickly towards the end I was 9cm when I got there. I wouldnt risk it. Good luck xxx

otterbaby · 04/10/2020 18:14

@bluemoon2468 if you go back in, can they examine you to see how dilated you are?

AutumnBabyWinterMummy · 04/10/2020 18:18

@bluemoon2468 I would go back, if the app says you're in established labour it's taking into account the length of each one and the closeness, think it's a good thing you're managing well!

Yes fb group sounds good to me too. WhatsApp gets on my nerves a bit even with just my family groups sometimes x

NWnature · 04/10/2020 19:25

@bluemoon2468 that’s brilliant you are coping so well with them!!

I’m up for Facebook group, I don’t use it much but agree it’s probably better than a WhatsApp Smile

HerondaleDucks · 04/10/2020 19:49

I've had a busy weekend.
Just trying to catch up!

Congratulations @CharlieBalf he is gorgeous!! I love the name Rufus too!

Good luck @bluemoon2468 I hope everything is going OK!

Those babies that hate the moses basket have you tried the hot water bottle in there before you pop them down. Ennis hated his moses basket until we started doing that. Now he's not so bad.

Ennis has a complete love hate relationship with my boobs. Sometimes he latches like a dream and we have a good feed, mostly he just gets cross at them. So we are doing breast, express and formula top ups. I feel like I'm constantly expressing though.
He has finally put some weight on and we are almost back to birth weight.

My mother in law visited today, travelled down from Grantham to us. My DH made her change her clothes as she is a smoker, wash her hands and wear a mask for cuddles. The mask was too big and kept falling off. So I hope that won't be an issue later down the line.

I also am up for a Facebook or WhatsApp group. Its hard to look through the thread and keep up to date.
My local baby group is still closed so I would really appreciate the company, especially during the long nights lol.

FourPlasticRings · 04/10/2020 20:11

Ooh, page 10 out of 10. Time for a new thread soon, I would think! Time flies.

Agree that Facebook would be better than WhatsApp generally due to the size of the group. You also risk waking people with late night WhatsApps if they've forgotten to turn notifications off.

@bluemoon2468 I did pretty well the first time until I got as far as transition and found being at home much easier to manage. I'm glad you're doing so well. If I were you, I'd want stay at home as long as possible (if not for the requirement for IV antibiotics), but maybe just call and explain how you're feeling and then see what they say? Glad it started up again for you!

Glad things are going well @HerondaleDucks.

booandbumpp · 04/10/2020 20:34

@HerondaleDucks Ou if youre expressing I really recommend the Hakka Breast pumps. Get two, put one on each boob and you just leave them. There’s also the Hakka milk collectors. They go in your bra and can put them on suction or just let them catch the drops! They’re great and no constant suction from electric pumps or wrist ache from the hand pumps!
