Thanks for the info @justanothermamma! I’m not entirely sure but didn’t feel low I don’t think. I’ll keep an eye on any waters just in case and if the cramps get worse 😬 thanks @Spark27 and @Zaalfruit - handy to know the popping can be “normal” stuff too and not just labour/waters related!

BettyBotter1 · 21/09/2020 20:45

@zaalfruit phew, thanks! That's a really sweet thing to do for your siblings ❤

@justanothermamma no, my MW just told me nhs don't do it when i asked about it, so i bought a test online because lots of ppl here have done them and i wanted to check it too.

otterbaby · 21/09/2020 20:52

@StrawberrySprinkles no experience but I have read that feeling a pop was the start of labour for some people - not all of them leaked waters until later on either. Fingers crossed!

MrsK89 · 21/09/2020 20:55

Thank you @Spark27 you've just reminded me to pack my breast pads. I have a bag full and forgot to put even one box in haha.
Ive put in maxi dresses as I found it so much easier to put on, when you've just had baby x

MrsK89 · 21/09/2020 21:01

@StrawberrySprinkles I heard a popping sound down low the other dya when I was on the toilet, but no waters, so I think it's just one of them things

justanothermamma · 21/09/2020 21:03

@BettyBotter1 What's it for? I've never really come across it!

It's a nightmare how different all labours are, so you end up questioning everything! All my friends with more than one child have said how different the labours were too, so you literally can't plan anything 🙄. As if we aren't stressed and hormonal enough as it is, then there is the unknown to contend with 😂

BettyBotter1 · 21/09/2020 21:46

@justanothermamma I don't think I can explain it well so have a google, but strep b is an (infection?) lots of ppl carry and it causes you no harm, you wouldn't know you have it, but if you do theres a tiny chance it can make the baby really poorly (e.g. meningitis). So if you are strep b positive they should offer you antibiotics through an iv during labour as a precaution. My US app mentioned it as a routine test so other countries do test for it whereas we don't.
That's true about everyone saying how different their labours were. The unknown is not good for my sanity, I like to be in control with a plan, so the exact opposite 😂
I've never heard about the popping sound, I'm going to be listening out for that now

Hey folks, sorry I’m behind on all the msgs - just to update you that DH and I unexpectedly had an early arrival: a beautiful boy born on 20th Sept by emergency c-section after my waters broke (36+5). All doing well and completely in love with him ❤️❤️❤️ xxx

AutumnBabyWinterMummy · 22/09/2020 05:41

I've just had to wake up and put my new tens machine on because spd came on horrifically as I woke up to go to the toilet and just thought I'd come on and see if anyone on here- and so happy to these these lovely birth posts 🥰

HerondaleDucks · 22/09/2020 06:02

@LostinAusten2 congratulations on your little boy! Glad you are both doing well, wishing you a speedy recovery on your c sec.

That's 3 babies now!!

Treacle81 · 22/09/2020 06:15

Hey girls!!! Wow @Treaclepie19 and @LostinAusten2 massive congratulations on your beautiful babies ❤️ hope the 4 of you are doing well xx @NWnature and @Zaalfruit my friend who just had baby advised me to take more mat pads (I had put in 1 pack) and a few nighties, I had only put in one, as shw warned she bled a lot. She had the good idea of (as so warm in ward) wearing a light, dark nightie with dark leggings instead of pjs, which I'm going to do. I just get the feeling I'm going to go over, don't feel pregnant the past few days as not heavy or baby low or anything. V weird. Wish I had 38 wk appt but that's me till the 1st now! Ate so much rubbish last night, 4 slices of pizza AND 2 cookies, as well as some chicken side. Never usually eat this much, as my appetite has defo increased. Was just way too much but I did enjoy it xx
