Exciting news @treaclepie19. Keep us posted if you can xx

I ended up in the hospital last night as I hadn't been happy with babys movements all day. Everything was fine. They got me on the monitor and baby was moving for about 10mins (I picked up a few but not much) then the little bugger went to sleep for 15mins! My options were to stay in overnight for monitoring or go home and go back in today for monitoring. I opted to go back today. But typically, once I got off the monitor she started moving loads and has been moving a fair amount all night. They said if I was happy I could cancel the appointment today, so I probably will. They were happy with it all so it was just for my reassurance, and I've been reassured. Damn babies being awkward xx

AutumnBabyWinterMummy · 21/09/2020 07:56

@Treaclepie19 ah how exciting!!! And love the fridge freezer comment 😂

@Zaalfruit she sounds so odd. Well done you for putting up with it (although you shouldn't have to)

@BettyBotter1 @Zaalfruit nice to know it's not just me!!

@Spark27 glad baby was ok, these naughty babies!!

blankiesandunicorns · 21/09/2020 08:05

Wow @Treaclepie19 how exciting!! Keep us updated if you can and we're all thinking of you.

(Off to order new household appliances) 😂

LexiM · 21/09/2020 08:11

@HerondaleDucks sounds like you had a super productive Sunday. Glad you are starting to feel the effects of the antibiotics and well done on the colostrum, that's amazing. Enjoy having your parents to stay.

@BettyBotter1 You can definitely justify your parents coming to stay if you're on your own, that support is so important.

@Treaclepie19 so excited for you, hope you meet your baby very soon.

Mine can stay in a bit longer then I may need to order something too 😂 part of me wants to meet baby asap but part of me also isn't ready, I think in terms of stuff to do I will always add things to my list!

@Spark27 glad all is ok with baby, keeping you on your toes in these final weeks/days!

Buzz22 · 21/09/2020 08:14

@Treaclepie19 how exciting! Good luck, will be thinking of you today! Cant wait for more baby news! Xx

@Spark27 glad baby is fine. Always best to be checked out and get that reassurance.

BntTowers · 21/09/2020 08:17

@Treaclepie19 how exciting, will be thinking about you.

@Spark27 glad baby has started moving about a bit more.

@HerondaleDucks it does sound like you are doing a lot, I can't seem to muster the energy to do much at the moment. I'm not getting much colostrum at all, managed about 0.1 in one syringe the other day then had a day off yesterday as nipples were sore. Hopefully it will start to build up a bit soon.

bluemoon2468 · 21/09/2020 08:19

Oooh @Treaclepie19 so exciting! Guessing you'll meet baby today or tomorrow 💕

justanothermamma · 21/09/2020 08:20

@Zaalfruit Me and DH had loads of sex towards the end last time to get baby moving, this time I have SPD and sciatica and it's so painful to try. Even though it's me that can't do it, I still feel totally un-sexy and awful about it all 🙈. I'm sure it worked last time though, I got tightenings every time afterwards, might have to go through the pain. @AutumnBabyWinterMummy @BettyBotter1 DH was horrified at the idea of sex while pregnant at first but when he started getting more regular sex he stopped caring. Just do it doggy so they can't tell you're pregnant from the back (if SPD/sciatica allows).

@Treaclepie19 Exciting times lovely, keep us updated if you can! I've just ordered lots of online bits next day in an attempt to tempt fate 😉.

otterbaby · 21/09/2020 08:28

@Treaclepie19 how exciting!! Keep us updated!

StrawberrySprinkles · 21/09/2020 08:44

@Treaclepie19 so excited for you! Hopefully you’ll meet baby today or tomorrow! 💛 I’ve got a nursing chair coming Wednesday and a dining table coming on the 4th of October...hoping the dining table works for me 😂

Treaclepie19 · 21/09/2020 08:47

I love how many of you are ordering things 😂
Just sitting on the sofa a bit. Still quite a bit of blood when I wipe so keeping an eye on that. Contractions currently about 8 mins apart and very manageable.
Just trying to get everyone sorted and organised in case we have to take ds somewhere.

justanothermamma · 21/09/2020 09:18

@Treaclepie19 It's scary how you can order anything online now, my bank balance resents me for it! I wonder if things will get moving for you soon, as long as you're feeling okay!

Jumping onto the name train again: just a question, we have found a new name we like but want opinions from a neutral party..

So we like Esther, that's the main one, but we recently came across Penny and both like it. Which is nicer do you think?

BettyBotter1 · 21/09/2020 09:24

@Treaclepie19 all sounds very under control!

@justanothermamma very much like both choices. Esther hadn't occured to me but I was very tempted with Penny so that gets my vote. I've never met an Ester and I've come across one Penny (age 8 now I think) and a year ago a newborn Penelope.

AutumnBabyWinterMummy · 21/09/2020 09:30

@justanothermamma I really like Esther, I can imagine a really lovely little girl called Esther... Penny I know someone called Penny and she's not how I'd imagine how I'd want my little girl to be so it's hard for me to comment on that name!! X

justanothermamma · 21/09/2020 09:32

@AutumnBabyWinterMummy It's so hard when you know someone with a name you like! My DH loved one name and it was the name of someone I went to school with and was not a fan of so it got struck off the list, he was gutted!

@BettyBotter1 I think it will be a case of deciding when we see her and seeing if DD can say either of them 😂.

Spark27 · 21/09/2020 10:14

@justanothermamma I like both. I personally prefer Penny to Esther, but both are pretty.

Online shopping is scary. Esp as I can remember all my card details by heart now. I didnt save them to try and prevent one click shopping, but inputting them so much hasn't helped. DH is shocked that I cant remember his mobile number but can remember all card numbers 🤣

booandbumpp · 21/09/2020 10:29

Hello! Hope people don't mind me jumping on to this thread!
I am due 15th October, but being induced on 2nd Oct due to complicated history. Actually having a sweep tomorrow too to see if that might kick things off (not hopeful, but it would be nice).
People keep asking me if I'm anxious - I can't say I am, I just want her here now!!
How exciting @Treaclepie19! Do you feel organised and ready for baby to be here?

Quiffy · 21/09/2020 10:51

Happy new thread! It only feels like yesterday that the last was started 🙀

I'm with everyone on lockdown rules. I've followed everything all along and fed up seeing people I know ignoring, so I'll be making sure parents get to visit etc.

@blankiesandunicorns hope you and DH have made up

@Zaalfruit wtf at your MIL. If she's that fussed she can make her own nappy caddy. And I wouldn't be calling her first - who even asks that???

@Spark27 glad everything was okay - typical once you were off

@justanothermamma both names are lovely!

@booandbumpp welcome! Not long now!

@Treaclepie19 eeeeee so exciting 😁❤️

38 weeks today! Spent all of yesterday on sofa feeling like I have the flu with aches, headache and warm head (thankfully no temp). Feeling the same today with sore back and period like cramps. I'm ever hopeful that it means something but think my body is just done in and he'll stay in and I'll be heading in for my induction next Monday (if there's space!)

booandbumpp · 21/09/2020 10:56

@Quiffy Thank you! I've felt the same - yesterday was very sneezy and headachey, some back pain and period-like cramping, today less sneezy, but still period cramps and back pains! Also having cold sweats in the night and half unconscious have ended up stripping off.
I'm currently watching BBC to see what the new restrictions are gonna be but doubt they will announce today. I've been VERY strict throughout due to history, and not been to a pub or restaurant at all and only seen family members in the garden. It's very frustrating to hear some rumours that pubs will have a curfew but households won't be allowed to mix - so theoretically I could legally take my baby to a pub but can't have my mum round to sit in the garden and see baby!
I think I'll probably still have people round but sitting outside, regardless of the 'no mixing household' rules. But I do think I'll be doing a 'look don't touch' approach, which luckily my family seem to understand.

Treacle81 · 21/09/2020 11:09

Are you back home @Treaclepie19? @Spark27 glad all ok, defo find that my movements aren't as much but then when he does move, he goes for ages lol. @justanothermamma I think Penny is lovely. That's me 38 weeks today and I've lost 3 pounds since last week 😳 think that's OK, just put it down to being poorly? xx

Treaclepie19 · 21/09/2020 11:27

I'm home yeah. Having some pretty strong contractions sometimes. Body seems to be having a clearout though which i think made them come on stronger 😳
Going to have to ring back if they carry on progressing like this.
She did do a sweep while I was in earlier so might have sped it up.

FourPlasticRings · 21/09/2020 11:37

Hello! How is everyone? I've been gone from Mumsnet for a while because it took up so much of my time but I'm back on now and nap-trapped with a toddler. Currently 38+ 4 (had my last at 39+0) so on full symptom watch but nothing yet apart from warm-up contractions. How about all of you?

NWnature · 21/09/2020 12:56

Ahh exciting @Treaclepie19 sending loads of good vibes!

@Zaalfruit she sounds like a nightmare. I’m very lucky with my MIL she is generally lovely although is beginning to annoy me re names as she clearly doesn’t like any on our list and is not very discreet in hiding it 😂

@justanothermamma I think my slight fave is Esther probably but I really like both. Penny is sweet.

I am going to give the colostrum stuff a go this evening. Have had no leaking so not holding out much hope.

MrsK89 · 21/09/2020 13:07

@Treaclepie19 aww keep an eye out, sounds like the sweep is doing its job. How was it getting the sweep x
My legs are so achy today and inner thighs just throbbing

otterbaby · 21/09/2020 13:11

@justanothermamma I have a good friend named Esther. The name is underrated in my opinion, I prefer that over Penny!
