@BecLJ wow she us absolutely stunning ❤️ @Spark27 I'm hoping I have similar birth and horrendous first one too! @Zaalfruit 8 echo what was said you and vavt are far more important than work, never forget that, I hope you weren't too sore through the night and managed some sleep. I seem to be wide awake for hrs when wake for toilet thru the night now 😐xx

Spark27 · 30/09/2020 03:51

How close together are they @Zaalfruit and for how long? Have you got a tens machine? Tried a bath? Taken painkillers?
Can you insist they examine you, even if they then send you home?
Last night they weren't sure if I needed to go in as I wasnt screaming and shouting in the background when DH called them. If I'd have left it 30mins more I likely wouldnt have made it xx

Zaalfruit · 30/09/2020 03:53

@Treacle81 no sleep at all. Just pure pain .

@Spark27 I don’t know what to do - ftm they said don’t come in yet :(

HerondaleDucks · 30/09/2020 03:58

@Zaalfruit bless your heart that sounds awful. I hope it gets easier. Maybe keep trying with the hospital! Hope you get some sleep!

@BecLJ beautiful baby 😍

Spark27 · 30/09/2020 04:31

@Zaalfruit are you timing the pains? What sort of numbers are you getting? I really feel for you. Take the painkillers you can and try any relaxation technique xx

FourPlasticRings · 30/09/2020 05:00

@Zaalfruit, not to worry you, but if you're pouring blood I'd have thought you need to be seen. Did you tell them about the blood when you rang?

@BecLJ aww, she's gorgeous. Well done!

BntTowers · 30/09/2020 05:26

@Zaalfruit I do hope you've managed to be seen. Remember you and baby are so much more important than a work thing. Of things are that bad can you just go in and insist on being seen?

AutumnBabyWinterMummy · 30/09/2020 06:10

@Zaalfruit aww just woken up to see your messages. How are you now? I hope it's eased a bit. I second what others have said, try a bath, painkillers, relaxation techniques. If still blood def make sure they're aware of that xx

Treacle81 · 30/09/2020 07:10

Screw the midwife saying don't take paracetamol, they always say take that for pain relief along with hot bath or heat pack of you have one. It's bit normal to be in pain for some long without taking anything. Bless you. On a good note it surely is labour if lasting so long.my friend was the same and took herself to hospital the next day around lunch time and was 5 cm. Please call them and tell them how sore you've been for so long and about the bleeding, you must be feeling very frightened and we are all hear thinking of you ❤️xx

Zaalfruit · 30/09/2020 07:31

I think I have spent most of the night crying as the pain is so intense - sitting down is painful. Feel like I need to Pee Every few minutes.

Dh has been doing compressions on my hips to reduce the pain .

I don’t know what to do?

booroo · 30/09/2020 07:49

@Zaalfruit I think I'd be insisting to go in and be examined.. with my last I went from 4 to 10 in 30 Minutes and nearly had her in the car park as they where dismissive, I'd also mention over the phone the pouring blood I'm sure that's not normal for after a sweep and they would want to see you. Big hugs xx

BettyBotter1 · 30/09/2020 08:17

@Zaalfruit I think your level of pain and distress alone mean they should see you, you need to know what's going on in your body

justanothermamma · 30/09/2020 08:23

@Zaalfruit Sounds a bit extreme but if they won't listen and you're in agony and bleeding at such a late stage of pregnancy I'd consider ringing an ambulance! X

CharlieBalf · 30/09/2020 08:23

Hi all, congratulations on all the little babies!
@zaalfruit I really hope the pain either ceases or leads to a baby soon. Hang on in there.

Sorry I've been a bit quiet over the past week, nothing much doing over here since I was in hospital last Wednesday. Have a scan and sweep today and a discussion about where to go from here. Actually only 39+2 today so still a few days till EDD.
Hubby's getting a bit stressed as his paternity starts on Monday and he "doesn't want to spend it waiting".
Sorry darling, not much I can do about it 😆
Feel like I'm being left behind a bit and baby won't turn up till the middle of October 😭

otterbaby · 30/09/2020 08:24

@Zaalfruit oh no love 🙁 please demand to be seen - even if it's just for them to tell you this is normal labour pains. And make sure you mention the bleeding!

LexiM · 30/09/2020 08:37

Oh @zaalfruit sorry you've had such a horrific night. I hope you have been seen by now but if not definitely call again. Hopefully the change in shift will mean someone will listen to you.

So much for my wishful thinking of a good nights sleep, so uncomfortable and awake for most of it. I am going to be so tired and grumpy today! Baby seems to be so active at night too, which is reassuring but doesn't help me settle.

Treacle81 · 30/09/2020 08:55

@Zaalfruit please go to the maternity assessment in your hospital, they cant turn you away. It'll be different midwives on shift remember if you are worried about that. @CharlieBalf good to hear you are well, I also am due a sweep, mine is tomorrow but get the feeling I'm not going to be dilated for it. @Lexi I struggle to get to sleep, then wake up around 2 and I'm awake for hours then - this is when we need it most, just rubbish. @booroo oh i'd love to fully dilate that fast! Thinking back with son, went in around 9om and had him at 13:08 next day, I went in at 3 cm so doubt I will. Who knows xx

AutumnBabyWinterMummy · 30/09/2020 09:48

@Zaalfruit yes don't let them fob you off, be strong with them. And if they won't see you call 111 or something or go to normal a&e if in so much pain especially if bleeding. Sure they will take notice then if another department hears about it and deals with it instead of them.

@CharlieBalf ah husbands! My partner seems to have been really quite stressed last few days I think it's the unknown now or when will she be here, he's even been struggling to sleep! I felt like I was treating him like a baby last night I ran him a nice bath, kind of tiptoed around all day not even having one little disagreement to keep his stress levels down etc, told him we would watch tv in bedroom instead of the lounge as I knew that he would fall asleep (and he did!) I'm not stressed at all I'm just thinking when she's ready she will be here!

I don't know if my body is "getting ready" but I had a horrible sleep night before last so all day yesterday I was on and off napping and made up for it, then I thought there's no way I'll sleep tonight (last night) but I must've just needed it because just had such a lovely deep and pretty uninterrupted sleep (still wake up a good few times every time I change position and for wee but I got straight to sleep so I'm grateful) so I've woken up feeling well rested and relaxed. Also last few mornings have had almost like diarrhoea (sorry tmi) but I'm also thinking maybe it's bodies way of getting ready. X

AutumnBabyWinterMummy · 30/09/2020 09:54

Just had a little laugh to myself after i sent that msg with my "signs" because I think at this stage I could grow a 2nd head and I'd just think "oh it's just my body getting ready for labour" 😂 I honestly think every little thing that happens to me now that's all I think

FourPlasticRings · 30/09/2020 10:07

Oh @Zaalfruit, if you're not there already just go in. Don't wait for permission. In medicine, and particularly in pregnancy, women need to be their own advocates.

@CharlieBalf it'll be you and me in here waiting in mid October! I'm surprised at how many are having sweeps before their EDD- my trust don't offer until 40 weeks. Not that I'm planning on having one anyway.

@AutumnBabyWinterMummy I know what you mean!

I think I've worked out why this one is so much later than my last- o think it's back to back. Looked it up this morning and I've got literally all the signs of posterior positioning. Now I get to try and flip it so my body can actually go into labour- I feel like it's trying to. Keeps starting and stopping.

LostinAusten2 · 30/09/2020 10:15

@Zaalfruit - so sorry to hear about your evening and night - really hope you’ve headed in to get checked out, I do think peace of mind is a huge deal, and it can be so helpful just having someone tell you it’s all on track and you’re doing great ❤️ Sending best wishes x

CharlieBalf · 30/09/2020 10:15

@AutumnBabyWinterMummyi keep seeing 'signs' everywhere too 😂 I'll make a bit of a fuss about turning over in bed or getting up the stairs and my husband pokes his head round the door expectantly. He's even put the car seat by the door ...as if it may trigger baby to get moving 🤣

@FourPlasticRings I'll be hanging around here till the end!

FourPlasticRings · 30/09/2020 10:20

I'm surprised so many of you have had to book paternity leave. For my DH it's triggered as soon as I go into labour- he just calls up to let them know. Never realised it could be done any other way.

AutumnBabyWinterMummy · 30/09/2020 10:27

@FourPlasticRings I'm sure I'll still be here til mid oct. I'm holding off any sweeps etc until the absolute last minute. Not due til 12th. Had my 38 week appt yesterday and nothing was mentioned re sweeps or inductions. Baby was measuring a little smaller than she has been but even I could see it was minimal and the midwife was debating whether or not to send me for scan but decided it was for the best so I'm going but I'm not particularly worried. My dp paternity leave also triggered when I go into labour too.

@CharlieBalf oh my partner has stopped asking if I'm ok now 😂 I think I'll actually have to convince him when I really am in labour 😂 I've made what I can only imagine is labour noises for weeks and weeks now if my spd plays up I have to do my hypnobirthing breathing to get over a horrible bit or sometimes I nearly cry so he is so used to the noises I now make! Aw bless your dp though that's cute!

BntTowers · 30/09/2020 10:44

@Zaalfruit I hope you've called again or just gone to the hospital. It really does sound like you need to talk to someone about what's happening.

I've just been to the shops and got some sausages and eggs to make scotch eggs for the hospital bag/lunches for post baby. Will be hard to not have one today. I'm feeling a bit low today but I think it's just tiredness and backache playing up. Trying really hard not to just lay on the sofa and at least be on my ball. I keep looking out for signs but I don't think I'm actually getting any, will maybe find out more tomorrow after my 38 week midwife appointment.

We've decided to put the hospital bags in the car this weekend and a sleeping bag/blanket for DH in case he's waiting out in the car when things are happening. Which means I want to go through the bags one final time to make sure I have everything!
