@Spark27 congratulations you !!! Wow that was quick . Me and my dad share a birthday and I love it so much . So happy for you !!

@booroo @otterbaby just want baby out . Everyone keeps Messaging me saying any news it’s making me very cross lol 😂

Zaalfruit · 29/09/2020 08:39

@LexiM same never stayed in a hospital ever. Also I don’t like the idea of using a toilet that others have used. ( people don’t have toilet etiquette)

BettyBotter1 · 29/09/2020 08:48

@Zaalfruit my mum has given me a pack of antibac wipes and told me to clean the toilet before using it, especially if any tearing. She reckons this saved her from getting an infection whereas some other women on her ward did.

Treaclepie19 · 29/09/2020 08:55

You may find at the moment ladies that the hospital are putting wipes in the bathrooms anyway for people to clean up.
In triage there was a note asking everyone to wipe the seat.

@spark27 congratulations! It will be such a good birthday present for your dd! Sounds like you did really well. Well done

Buzz22 · 29/09/2020 09:00

Sorry I'm so behind on the thread again. So much is happening! So many babies arriving or on their way!

@MrsK89 yay congratulations! And @Spark27 wow what are the chance of your girls sharing a birthday?! Congratulations to you xx

Hope all those having inductions are doing ok? Looking forward to some more baby news today maybe?

@Treacle81 sounds like things are well on the way for you too. Hope to hear some good news from you soon!

This little one doesnt seem to be making her way out yet. Had hoped maybe I was showing some early signs the past few days. Plus we finally got the crib, pram, car seat and everything built so that was a weight off my mind.
Unfortunately our dog was admitted to the vets yesterday with pancreatitis so I think the stress and adrenaline from that will delay things on the baby front. They are doing ward rounds at the vets now and we are hoping we will be able to bring her home today 🤞

LostinAusten2 · 29/09/2020 09:34

Huge congratulations @Spark27 🥳❤️ Hope you and the little one are recovering well x

FreyaFirstTimeMum · 29/09/2020 10:16

Hello all! Jumping over from the end of September thread as baby girl looks like she’ll keep me waiting! Due date was yesterday, apart from losing my plug (which Tbf doesn’t mean too much) I’ve not had much in the way of signs so think LO will be an October baby now!

blankiesandunicorns · 29/09/2020 11:30

@FreyaFirstTimeMum welcome, we're probably as impatient as the late September thread are 😂 I certainly am. Hope it's not too long for you now

FreyaFirstTimeMum · 29/09/2020 12:38

Haha @blankiesandunicorns Tbf, even having other people to be impatient with helps haha 😜 when are you due?

booroo · 29/09/2020 12:43

Urghh think I'm in for the long haul went for 40 week appointment and sweep today and midwife could barely do it 🙈 why is this baby so lazy 🤣 my body seems to love cooking them for extra time!! Come on baby I'm so done now!!

otterbaby · 29/09/2020 12:54

@Buzz22 aww, hope your dog has improved and you get to bring her home!

@FreyaFirstTimeMum welcome, sorry to see you here 😂 hopefully you get to meet your baby soon. I'm due the 5th, so hopefully not too much longer for me either!

BntTowers · 29/09/2020 13:04

@Buzz22 sorry to hear about your dog being poorly, they do like to worry us. I hope she gets to come home today and is feeling better.

How are those with inductions getting on? I'm sure we'll have some more baby news by tomorrow!

I'm getting super impatient, I just want baby here, the first one from our NCT group has been born now. I think in dates term I'm tied second to last with due date for the group. I'm trying to keep active and do little bits of housework. I've just made up a little basket to have on my bedside table with emergency muslin, change of clothes, etc in. I should really dust the dh's side down as well, but seen as he has a tendency to only do half a job with the house work I'm tempted to leave it...

Does anyone have any film or TV series suggestions? Any happy, oxytocin inducing ones will do, otherwise I will resort to Halloween themed ones like Practical Magic and a nightmare before Christmas!

@booroo oh no! I'm hoping to get a sweep at my appointment on Thursday, I'll be 38 weeks by then and I'm hoping all the dates and walking has softened it a bit.

booroo · 29/09/2020 13:16

@BntTowers I must have walked miles over the last week or so (alongside looking after 6stable kept horses)
And have had cramp and niggles and bum pressure last week so was feeling quite positive it would work 🤣 but no my body clearly has other plans so I'm sulking with chocolate now,may even order a takeaway for dinner 🤣 but upon reading my notes at least my
Cervix is soft I'll take that as a win for today 🤣🤣 x

BntTowers · 29/09/2020 13:25

@booroo it is, and I think it can change really quick so 🤞

booandbumpp · 29/09/2020 13:28

Hello! I had pessary in but it had to come out as was having contractions 5 in 5 minutes and I was hyper stimulated! They’ve died down since, and they examined me and I’m about 1-2cm so they’d like me further along before breaking my waters. So a pessary is going back in for a bit to see if I can get to 3cm.
Hopefully tomorrow! (Or tonight!) but we shall see!
Hope everything else is ok. Bouncing on balls and going on long walks!

Treacle81 · 29/09/2020 13:43

Hi girls! Wow @Spark27 cannot believe your daughter was born on the same day as you first born 💕 congratulations, hope you are both well. I am just back from maternity assessment as they asked me to come on, waters haven't went and they days looks like might have a little thrush (I think it might be group strep b after all) ill know at mw appointment on Thurs when get results my cervix hadn't dilated any so she couldn't sweep, hopefully I will have made progress and manage to get sweep on Thurs. This app has all changed so can't go back to see previous chat for names but I hope however's

dog it was is OK and welcome to the Sept due baby mama xx

justanothermamma · 29/09/2020 14:20

@booroo A soft cervix is a big positive!

@booandbumpp Doesn't sound like you'll have long to wait! Exciting!

@FreyaFirstTimeMum Welcome to the thread lovely!

blankiesandunicorns · 29/09/2020 14:38

@FreyaFirstTimeMum I am due on Thursday, the 1st. My daughter was born the day after her due date and they think this baby is big so Iv been getting my hopes up she will be early but no signs yet! My daughter came 2 days after losing my plug so you've definitely had a good sign things are moving forward, I would take that right now anyway!

HerondaleDucks · 29/09/2020 14:53

Congratulations @Spark27 that's amazing.
I'm jealous I was at it for hours!

@Buzz22 I hope your dog is OK. I came back from hospital on Thursday and noticed my dog had a cough, so he had to go to the vet and he has a chest infection. Which made him super needy on top of being really confused about the baby.

Worried I'm going to have to do formula top ups, he gets so so hungry at night and I can't keep up!

Early Oct Babies Part 9
Spark27 · 29/09/2020 14:54

So, full story. First contraction hit at 2245. In 4 contractions I went from 15mins between to 12 and then 8. Sat on 8mins for about 4 contractions and then I was down to 5mins between, and lasting 50+ seconds. Got my mum round. Called hospital who said to get there around 0100. Got there and was in so much pain I had to push them to examine me at 0130 and demanded gas & air. They told me I was 9cm 😱. No time for an epidural, I was livid. I pounded the gas and air like my life depended on it. Said a few choice words. Baby girl was born at 0252 weighing 7lbs 5oz.
Discharge took a while as all so slow, but managed to get all newborn and hearing tests done. Home by 1215.

I cant believe I did it. I always wanted another epidural.

HerondaleDucks · 29/09/2020 14:59

Well done @Spark27 amazing stuff. I didn't have an epidural either.

How are you feeling now?

Also side note in SDH they had wipes in the toilets to clean them.

AutumnBabyWinterMummy · 29/09/2020 15:52

@Spark27 wow what an amazing birth story! Well done and glad you made it home for dd birthday! How has she reacted? Xx

NWnature · 29/09/2020 16:03
