@NWnature Everyone I knew thought I was having a boy this time (including me!), DH was the only one who said it was another girl and he was so smug when he got it right 😂

@AutumnBabyWinterMummy DH hasn't told me if I'm snoring but I do wake up with a sore throat in the morning so I do wonder! My dribbling is what's getting to me, it's absolutely rank waking up with a wet face 🙈😂.

Zaalfruit · 28/09/2020 21:40

@AutumnBabyWinterMummy my husband says I move and make sounds like a hippo 🤣😂 don’t worry about making noises in the hospital .
I’m such a wuss - 31 years old and scared to stay in the hospital .

A little bit more mucus plug today followed by nothing . So frustrating .

@Treacle81 did you check with triage ?

AutumnBabyWinterMummy · 28/09/2020 21:45

@justanothermamma oh yes I'm also waking up with a sort throat it's driving me mad! And the dribbling, I only notice that though if I go for an afternoon nap!!

@Zaalfruit a hippo 😂😂

Well at least your partners are not only in a diff bed but have to move to another part of the house because the snoring is coming through the wall 😂😂 I feel so unglamorous at the min!!

FourPlasticRings · 28/09/2020 21:52

@Treacle81 you definitely should call if it's your waters. It basically starts a timer and they induce if you've not gone into labour after 24 hours.

Thanks everyone, I'm OK, just bending down hurts quite a lot now (which is tough as my two year old likes to liberally scatter stuff across the floor!)

@Zaalfruit the mucus plug is great! I've not lost any yet. Sad

@NWnature did you go into a hairdresser or did they come to you? Did you feel safe from a COVID perspective? I'm desperate to get mine done before the baby gets here!

BntTowers · 28/09/2020 22:27

@NWnature I'm so tempted to book in at the hairdresser, but a bit paranoid that as soon as I book I'll go into labour.

I don't think this baby is going to let me sleep until it arrives and even then it won't. So far it's been, literally kicking off since 8.30pm. I do appreciate that it's not 3.30am like this morning but I wasn't even able to nap earlier because of massive movements.

@Zaalfruit I get it, I hate going to hospital, it always gives me so much anxiety. I think it stems from my dad being in quite a bit when I was young, just glad I don't have to go to the same one he was at so much.

justanothermamma · 28/09/2020 23:33

@AutumnBabyWinterMummy Naps are so much worse for dribbles! It's that moment you wake yourself up and try to suck the drool back in ahahaha, god it's gross.

@Zaalfruit Mucus plug is a good sign that things are moving and will happen soon, keep positive!

@FourPlasticRings My toddler is the same, scattering toys like it's an obstacle course, she's quite good at tidying BUT doesn't quite do it all, bending is hard and if I crouch down I'm stuck 😂🙈. I never lost any mucus plug last time, must have happened in hospital when I didn't know which way was up on gas and air.

@NWnature I was desperate to get my hair done just to add a bit of 'oomph' to my hair if that makes sense? I've finally got my natural colour back and some good length after wanting it to get back to that condition, it's the healthiest it's been in about eight years and now all I want to do is colour it and chop it off, ha!

NWnature · 29/09/2020 00:07

The hair has made me feel really refreshed! I was the only one in the salon so it felt v safe. Both stylists had masks and there were Perspex
Screens and loads of hand sanitiser so precautions even if it was busier. I’d recommend as imagine we won’t have the chance for a while once the babies arrive!

I just tried to use the elvie pump my friend lent me and it won’t charge !! Arghhh so going to have to ring them tomorrow and hopefully get a new one sent/ it fixed as I think it’s in warranty. I have the haaka one too but I think that’s more for let down of actual milk so doubt it will help with stimulating / getting colostrum.

I’ve had no signs whatsoever so far, am 38+3 now. No plans tomorrow so thinking of perhaps braving the shops for some PJs as that is all I am missing from the hospital bag at the mo.

Spark27 · 29/09/2020 00:10

Oh god, I'm not sure if I'm getting signs/contractions. Arggghh. Not ideal as its DDs 3rd birthday today!

BettyBotter1 · 29/09/2020 03:39

@justanothermamma @AutumnBabyWinterMummy I'm with you on the gross drool. Keep having to turn my pillow over to avoid the wet patch, yuck.

@AutumnBabyWinterMummy I'm sure I snore too, pretty normal I think. I'm more scared of feeling scared hearing other women in labour, is that weird?!

@NWnature haircut sounds so good! I'm going to have to wait now.

@Spark27 oh no with the timing! Any signs of anything further or false alarm?

Any recommendations on breast pumps? I haven't bought one yet and thought I'd wait until baby is here and I've tried bf, but would be good to know what to order.

Zaalfruit · 29/09/2020 05:04

@Spark27 are you okay - imagine both have the same birthday .

@BettyBotter1 I just got a hand pump to try and see if I can breast feed and then will get an electric one later if I can . Ftm no idea how I feel or what I will need .

@NWnature oh I’m jealous I need a cut and dye - must feel so good to have your hair done .

@justanothermamma just getting light period pains and small mucus plug loss .

Aquablue1123 · 29/09/2020 05:59

@NWnature I think I'm a way off from Labour that's why I can still walk but hoping it will help. 😬

@BntTowers ah yes I've been using clary sage too and I've had some reflexology which has been nice, fell asleep in both sessions 🤣.

@AutumnBabyWinterMummy @justanothermamma 🤣 I've also started snoring so bad and dribbling ... such a catch right now!

FourPlasticRings · 29/09/2020 06:02

@Spark27 Oh, what timing! Here's hoping you get through the majority of the day at home.

Right, I'm booking in to the hairdresser if I can. May as well be some advantage to Baby#2 failing to get their head in the game. Will need to see if I can get someone to watch DD though.

Spark27 · 29/09/2020 06:02

Well, that happened quickly. 3hrs to go from nothing to 9cm. Only got gas and air. Shocked the mws. Shocked me- expected them to say I was only 2cm and send me home for being a wimp. Now waiting to get moved to the maternity ward for all the newborn checks. I'll give a full update later, but yes, both of my daughters have the same birth date (3 yrs apart) 🙊 xx

FourPlasticRings · 29/09/2020 06:06

Woah!!! Congratulations @Spark27!!!!! How long did your first labour take?

Aquablue1123 · 29/09/2020 06:07

@Spark27 oh wow!!! Congratulations! Glad you are ok! How lovely your two babies share the same birthday. Take care and rest well 😘 xxx

SkyBlue20 · 29/09/2020 06:26

Congratulations @Spark27! How lovely the girls have the same date - and that it was fast! Hope you’re both doing ok xx

AutumnBabyWinterMummy · 29/09/2020 06:29

All this hairdresser talk is making me want to go. I haven't been since maybe jan for a cut. I decided last year i was going to grow out my natural colour so started in dec which in hindsight was perfect timing without me even knowing covid was coming! It's not grown out it though it's half grown out.

@justanothermamma I'm with you on the wanting to just chop it off and colour it all! Spoil all our hard work!

Glad not just me with the snoring!!

@Spark27 oh wow amazing congratulations so lovely to hear! What a surprise birth!! How far on were you? Hope you are all doing well! Xx

Treaclepie19 · 29/09/2020 06:36

Congratulations @Spark27!! What a shock for you.
My husband and his brother have the same birthday 5 years apart. This baby narrowly missed sharing it too and came the day after.

OP posts:
booroo · 29/09/2020 07:30

Congrats @Spark27 I think that's labour goals!!only a teeny bit jealous lol well done!! Xx

BettyBotter1 · 29/09/2020 07:49

@Spark27 wow congratulations, that was fast! What a birthday present for DD. Hope you get home soon x

LexiM · 29/09/2020 07:50

@Spark27 congratulations!! That must have been a shock, hope you and are both doing well. Cant wait to hear more when you're ready.

@AutumnBabyWinterMummy my husband says I snore and breathe so heavily now, I'm sure you arent the only one!

@Zaalfruit I am exactly the same about the hospital, being left alone after/overnight bothers me, I guess because I've never been in as a patient. I am hoping baby will come middle of the night and I can go home later that day and wont have to stay!

@NWnature must be lovely having your hair cut. My husband and I are booked for one 3rd October, doesn't matter so much for me but DH hair has grown so much and I really want him to have it cut before baby arrives so it isnt a shaggy mess in the photos haha! I keep joking if i dont make it I will call our hairdresser to come while I'm in labour to do this hair.

Well last night was just pure hell for me, the pains down there, have no idea if it's my pelvis or what now and I dont believe it's the start of anything either. I just cant get comfortable and then when I do get to sleep baby moves and I'm awake. I just have this feeling I've got weeks more of this!

blankiesandunicorns · 29/09/2020 07:51

Congrats @Spark27! Weren't you due Thursday same as me? That's amazing can't wait to hear more when you're ready.

Hope everyone else is ok. I had a few mild cramps last night then nothing, she is teasing me ☺️

NWnature · 29/09/2020 08:09

Ahh congrats @Spark27 that is amazing! So sweet they share a birthday ♥️

otterbaby · 29/09/2020 08:20

@Spark27 wow, congratulations!! Sounds like it all happened really fast! It's really sweet that they share a birthday too 💕

I'm not even to my due date and feel like I'm going to be pregnant forever 😭 everyone else in my NCT group has had their babies now too. So jealous of everyone with their babies safely in their arms!

justanothermamma · 29/09/2020 08:35

@Spark27 That's one hell of a birthday present though! Dd will love it! Congratulations!!

@Aquablue1123 @BettyBotter1 Oozing sex appeal over here.

@AutumnBabyWinterMummy I couldn't get booked in so I should take it as a blessing in disguise not ruining my hard work!

@LexiM I'n still cutting DHs hair from lockdown routines, the pressure to get it right is ridiculous!

@otterbaby Not long now!
