Why are these October the 1st babies being so stubborn 🤣 I've got no signs any more.. nothing! I'd take anything to give me hope now 😂

Zaalfruit · 28/09/2020 10:47

Kinda tmi but it looks like old blood. Might be - I feel No pain Or anything at the moment - got an appointment 2mrw and triage people are so mean.

I googled it - kinda looked like the mucus blood - but it only Happened once I went bathroom again and nothing .

Zaalfruit · 28/09/2020 10:50

@FourPlasticRings ouch - that must have hurt sooo much. Ooh hope it starts soon for you x

@booroo they are stubborn little bums !!

Welcome @Momtot

i have so many asos returns to do - eurgh the effort of going post office .

@Spark27 you are a trooper !! I still dunno how you girls all do it . I am struggling you lot are hero’s !

FourPlasticRings · 28/09/2020 10:52

@booandbumpp It does make sense when you think about it- your body doesn't want you to go into labour if there's danger about. This is why some people refuse vaginal exams in labour- if they have a trauma response to them it can actually be counter-productive. Saying that, it'll have to come eventually and women do give birth in war zones. Try not to think about it too much, focus on your breathing and visualise somewhere relaxing. Good luck- I'm sure you'll be cuddling baby before you know it!

booandbumpp · 28/09/2020 10:55

@FourPlasticRings thank you! I’ve brought my noise cancelling headphones so when I’m on the ward and off monitoring I’m gonna be streaming all the mindfulness playlists! X

Zaalfruit · 28/09/2020 10:56

@booandbumpp 4 days !! Ahhh - hopefully this time it will Be a faster Fingers crossed.

I called triage they said if it’s sticky blood it’s all good - just keep an eye on movements .

I have a banging headache which doesn’t help at all.

BettyBotter1 · 28/09/2020 10:58

Good luck @Quiffy and @booandbumpp!!

That's some walking @aquablue1123 👏

Sorry to those with sleepless nights especially with toddlers to look after. I managed to be asleep last night during the graveyard hours for first time in ages, don't know what I did right.

I'm going to paint a couple of door frames and aim to bake something chocolatey today, not because I feel like baking but because I'm craving cake and chocolate...

Welcome @Momtot and happy due date to those turning 40 weeks today, hope things start happening for you soon.

Spark27 · 28/09/2020 11:44

Ouch, @FourPlasticRings. That sounds really painful. Damn birthing balls. I'm always a bit worried when getting on mine. Looking forward to getting rid of it. I hope you're ok xx

Thanks for that @Zaalfruit. Definitely the boost I need today on a sleepy, grumpy day. I've deployed a new Peppa Pig busy book for DD. I was keeping it til after baby was here, but I need the quiet time.

Earplugs are definitely a must for hospital stays. Esp when being induced. That reminds me, I need to check how I go about tethering my new tablet to my mobile so I can data share. And I might download a few things in advance so I'm ready in case I get stuck in there for a while x

AutumnBabyWinterMummy · 28/09/2020 12:26

@BettyBotter1 I'm the same, don't really feel like baking but I am craving some cake with icing on top so think I'll have to make one.

@FourPlasticRings ah hope you're ok sounds painful 😣

Hope everyone doing ok, I haven't been able to quite keep up with what's happening! It all seems to be happening! X

Treacle81 · 28/09/2020 12:27

Welcome @Momtot we are a great wee group, nothing is TMI which is great. I was in hospital all last week and the girls have been v supportive which we need in times like this. @Zaalfruit ahh that could be start of something! Girls, meant to say, I defo would bring your own pillow, I found the hospital ones awful and I've you are induced or long labour in bed die to monitoring, you need to be comfortable. It's defo coming with with me! @Aquablue1123 wow that's an impressive distance, my workouts are unfortunately over due to my health condition at the minute but I'll get out a walk when I can. Good luck @booandbumpp sorry about your fall, I often think my ball might burst, I'll be more cautious on it now! xx

justanothermamma · 28/09/2020 14:34

@booandbumpp that happened to me with DD, was examined for a sweep and was 3cm, then another midwife checked when I ended up in triage later that day and said I was 1cm - apparently that can happen, I was devastated!

@Zaalfruit I'd call to check about any blood, even if you think it's the mucus plug - not everyone has the 'bloody show' so check to be sure. With you on the headache today, mine is horrendous!!

@FourPlasticRings Oh gosh, look after yourself! That must have really hurt! My birthing ball makes me hurt loads with sciatica and SPD, I'm gutted because I lived on it last time. Still baffles me how different pregnancy can be each time - somehow you expect it to be the same, especially with the same gender!

@Treacle81 Oooh I didn't think about a pillow! I'll try and remember to put one with my bag for Wednesday 😬.

Aquablue1123 · 28/09/2020 15:10

Good luck @Quiffy I hope all goes well today.

@BntTowers ahh yes that's a good point about the stimulation, it may help.

I'm eating and drinking all the things that are supposed to induce Labour, and I am really feeling that 10k walk now but hoping it helps 🤗.

Xx

booandbumpp · 28/09/2020 16:05

@justanothermamma oh god devastated is definitely accurate to how I feel about it. I was so happy with myself as it took me 2 days of pessary to get to 1cm last time. To go backwards didn’t even cross my mind.
I’m sharing a bay with 3 mums and their new borns 😳 have asked DP to pick me up some ear plugs!

NWnature · 28/09/2020 16:09

Oh @booandbumpp feel for you! Hope you get some rest.

@Aquablue1123 I am so impressed you can walk 10km! I’m struggling with a very short waddle.

First day of mat leave! Had a haircut this morning which was bliss. Just had an hour long nap 😆 now off for physio appointment for sciatica. I’ve never had physio before, I’m naively hoping it’s like a relaxing massage but I’ve heard it can actually be quite painful!

BntTowers · 28/09/2020 16:47

Thanks everyone for repeatedly mentioning ear plug. I keep meaning to get some and every single time I go off this page I forget. I've just added some to the Amazon basket now so should get that ordered today! From being in triage at the weekend I can imagine it's going to be noisy.

@aquablue1123 I'm not surprised! I normally do 2.5 miles a day trying to up it to 3 for the last few weeks. It's nothing compared to what I use to do just walking to the office and back everyday but at least I'm getting out. Thursday is going to be a longer walk day as I have a midwife appointment a mile away.
I'm eating dates, will make a curry at some point this week, can't stand pineapple so not bothering with that one. Still have my Clary sage essential oil pinned to my top too.

@treacle81 I'm going to out a pillow with my bags tonight so I take one, thanks for the tip. I feel like I'm taking so much stuff with me!

@fourplasticrings that sounds super painful, rest up and hopefully you will be on your way with some contractions again soon!

Treacle81 · 28/09/2020 16:56

It's defo a must, those pillows are bloody awful!!! Oh girls, just soaked thru panty liner, not thru pants, smelled it, not urine 🤔xx

Treacle81 · 28/09/2020 16:56

Should it be followed by cramp before I think could be waters? xx

BettyBotter1 · 28/09/2020 17:09

@Treacle81 I don't think so? Your waters could go and labour not start. Not sure what to do if you only lose a bit of fluid though rather than a huge gush? I hope you're feeling much more normal now with the sickness and dizziness?
@FourPlasticRings ouch that sounds really painful I hope you are ok
@NWnature letbus know how the physio goes and was it relaxing or not?

I've got a very slight lower back ache today and baby feels like she might be a bit lower.

Treacle81 · 28/09/2020 17:18

@BettyBotter1 I know, think last time as was first baby and a day past due date they told me to go in after my trickle and I was 3 cm and had him the next afternoon. I've put a thick pad on and will see if more comes. @NWnature any physio I've had has felt good at the time if not a little stiff but sure for a few days afterwards, so be prepared for mild pain relief xx

Spark27 · 28/09/2020 17:29

Exciting @Treacle81. I think the recommendation is to put a pad on and lie on your side for 20mins, then get up and see if more comes out. Then ring the labour ward. If labour doesnt start in 24hrs they'll probably want you in so at least they can get you on their list as someone to expect xx

FourPlasticRings · 28/09/2020 17:30

For anyone concerned that their trust won't induce them until 42 weeks:

justanothermamma · 28/09/2020 18:31

@Aquablue1123 Fingers crossed the walk sets you off!

@booandbumpp Earplugs saved me last time I was in after having DD. I ended up back in for 10 days with a catheter and I was too ill to have DD with me in hosp (it was horrendous) but I was allowed to see her in the day, but nights on that ward with screaming babies when you didn't have one was hard.

@NWnature I hope it wasn't too painful!

@Treacle81 Ooooh progress?!

LexiM · 28/09/2020 18:39

@treacle81 how exciting. My midwife says if your waters go you should call, they will then ask you questions and see if they need to see you. I dont think everyone gets contractions straight away with waters going but I know they dont like you to go too long without baby making an appearance once waters have gone. Hope this is baby coming for you!

NWnature · 28/09/2020 18:50

@Treacle81 ooh exciting!!!

@BettyBotter1 physio was good, pretty much just like a massage just in that area (bum cheek 😂)
Hopefully it’s helped! Will try a short walk tomorrow and see. Like Treacle says she did mention it can be sore the next couple of days.

My hairdresser this morning predicted a boy! Definitely the leading majority at the moment.

Hope all you new mamas are doing well with little ones.
Sending so many good vibes to everyone else who is waiting - this final bit is so much exciting/ surreal/ terrifying!!

AutumnBabyWinterMummy · 28/09/2020 20:29

@Treacle81 if it's your waters I think you need to call because apparently labour needs to start within 24 hours otherwise there is risk of infection even if no cramps etc.

This is a really ridiculous worry but since being heavily pregnant I've started (dp says) to snore really loud 😂 so we have been in diff beds for a few weeks most nights anyway now because my nose is always blocked or I shuffle for a really long time and I get stressed knowing im keeping him awake so we both sleep better separately- so anyway last night he had to move from the room next door to my room into the lounge to sleep because my snoring was just so bad he said. So now I'm stressing thinking if I have to go into hospital overnight like I'll be keeping everyone awake 😂🙈 I'm laughing but i genuinely am worried! X
