@MrsK89 congrats :-) sounds like you did amazing! I hope you and baby are doing well 😘 xxx

Aquablue1123 · 28/09/2020 06:10

@BntTowers good going with the colostrum collecting; does the pump work? My doc has told me to try and hand express but nothing is happening.

@justanothermamma oooh all the signs sound promising 😬!

I went on a 10k walk this morning, i really want to go naturally before induction. 🤦🏼‍♀️

It sounds like everyone is moving fast now on the group, it's so exciting.

Xxx

Quiffy · 28/09/2020 06:43

@MrsK89 congratulations!! @HerondaleDucks loving all the tips too?

@Zaalfruit I hope they listen to you about induction. Definitely sounds like you'd benefit from baby being here soon. Loving all the food prep too.

@BntTowers woop on the colostrum!

@Aquablue1123 that's some walk already 🙀

I can't keep up with messages but happy 39 weeks to all the other there today!

Going in for induction at 10.30am this morning. I'm even allowed to bring dh in for an hour while I get set up. I thought I had to go in alone so that was a nice surprise although I'm going to be gutted when he gets chucked out. Been having lots of pain, pressure and tightening that come and go so be interesting to see if my cervix is favourable when I get examined (although not looking forward to that!). Trying not to let the terror nerves interfere with the oxytocin levels 😹

booandbumpp · 28/09/2020 06:54

Good luck for today @Quiffy I’m being induced too but no idea what time. Have they said what process they’ll be going for with you?
They’re hoping I can have the balloon so can go home after 🤞🏻🤞🏻

Treaclepie19 · 28/09/2020 07:02

Good luck @Quiffy! The examination will be ok Smile Keep saying your positive affirmations. Your baby will soon be here. Your body was meant to do this. Will be thinking of you ❤

Congratulations @MrsK89!

Huge congrats on the EDDs 🥳

And sending you very best wishes for the inductions today @Quiffy and @booandbumpp - you’ve got this 👍🥰

And good luck @Zaalfruit and @Aquablue1123 and @Treacle81 and others - it really does sound like we’re going to have lots of good news on the thread soon 🥳🥳 x

BntTowers · 28/09/2020 07:14

Good luck with your inductions @Quiffy @booandbumpp. I hope they go well for you. Keep us updated

My bump has been so sore all night and I've been awake since about 3.30 because baby is trying to lunch its way out it feels like. I don't think I'll be doing much today.

@Aquablue1123 that's some walk! I'm so fed up of walking 3 times a day o wish baby would arrive. Going to try slightly longer ones for the next few days.
Definitely worked much better with the pump I'll be using it again a couple of times today to try and up my stockpile (plus I'm hoping the nipple stimulation will help with getting baby moving).

@Zaalfruit it really does sound like your MH has been let down. I hope they listen to you and you can be induced.

Momtot · 28/09/2020 07:33

Hi all! I'm really late to the party but hope you don't mind me joining?

I'm 38+3, due 9th October.. I've been in slow labour for a couple of weeks and had stop/start labour since Friday which has been exhausting! Had a sweep on Friday and was 3cm, doc said baby would come within 2 days, he was wrong!!

It's my 3rd baby but both previous were induced so I have no experience of natural labour, I don't like it so far!! I think I liked how structured and controlled induction was 🙈

Anyway sorry to jump on so late but we're not telling any family that anything's happening until baby's here (they will ask every 5 mins) so need some people to chat to!!

Hope you're all doing well 💛

LexiM · 28/09/2020 07:50

Thinking of you both today @Quiffy and @booandbumpp - hope things progress well for you and cant wait to hear of more babies born in the group!

@Aquablue1123 that's some good walking, I could not do that right now, the pain when I walk now is awful, hoping it goes away again. Fingers crossed for your baby making an appearance before then!

@Momtot welcome to the group! I hope things properly get going for you soon, sounds like you've had a lot already, I can imagine it's very tiring!

Spark27 · 28/09/2020 08:12

Good luck to the inductions today. I'm only 1 day overdue and I'm already jealous 😅

Welcome @Momtot. I know what you mean. I was induced with my DD so have no idea what to expect if I go naturally this time.

I take back everything I said about being a mum and coping last night. I had a terrible nights sleep, probably managed about 2hrs sleep (spent a lot of the rest of the time wanting to smoother a snoring DH), and now I would happily sell my toddler for another 2hrs sleep. Today is going to be a looooooong day 😬. I'm having to indulge in a caffeinated instant coffee.

AutumnBabyWinterMummy · 28/09/2020 08:18

@Quiffy good luck today you'll do great and really nice dh allowed in for a bit! And good luck @booandbumpp also!

@Momtot not too late! And yes a really good group to talk to about anything!!

Barely slept at all last night, I hate nights like that. I kept switching between our bed and the spare bed just to see if I could get comfy in either and I couldn't. I don't know what the problem was x

justanothermamma · 28/09/2020 08:22

@Spark27 Oh I worry about the same thing as you! Lack of sleep and a crazy two year old.. ohhhh my god.

@Aquablue1123 I managed to sleep, which is apparently okay during 'early labour' if that is what's happening! I have woken up in pain still, so we'll see.. I wish I could walk 10k, it's agony getting out of bed at the moment.

@Quiffy Good luck lovely!!

@Momtot That happened with my first, started early labour, got told I'd have a baby 'by the weekend', I stopped work way sooner than planned on their advice, and three weeks later still no baby 😂 it's such a lottery!!

blankiesandunicorns · 28/09/2020 08:36

Good luck to those having inductions today! Can't wait for more baby announcements.

I wish I was showing some signs. I am praying for just something!

Quiffy · 28/09/2020 08:54

@booandbumpp good luck today!! As far as I know I'm staying in with the pessary. Hopefully it goes quick and stress free for us both 🤞🤞🤞💪💪💪

@momtot welcome!!

Thanks everyone, pretty much packed and ready to leave I think.

Sounds like a few of you need naps today, hope you can get some rest!

HerondaleDucks · 28/09/2020 09:04

Good luck today @Quiffy and @booandbumpp

Your bodies are champion, they know what to do. You've both got this!

Someone wouldn't settle last night. I'm knackered!

Treaclepie19 · 28/09/2020 09:18

Hope all goes well @booandbumpp!!

Same @HerondaleDucks. She was up crying with constipation and wind pain. I got 1 hour sleep and then ds woke up and we had to get him ready for school 🙈
Hope you can get a rest today!

HerondaleDucks · 28/09/2020 09:21

Absolutely @Treaclepie19 wind is killer.
We have been having explosive poo... its started turning yellow.

I hope everyone is ready for that first nappy! Especially using cotton wool and water. ....

Treaclepie19 · 28/09/2020 09:23

@HerondaleDucks yeah Bea's is yellow now. It was solid in the night though. Back to normal now so hoping it was a blip.

My hospital didn't mind us using wipes so I just used pampers pure aqua wipes for the meconium poos. Much easier than cotton wool and water 😩

OP posts:
Zaalfruit · 28/09/2020 10:14

Hey question did anyone swipe and get blood - is that normal? I just swiped and got blood :/

Zaalfruit · 28/09/2020 10:15

@Quiffy good luck !!!

FourPlasticRings · 28/09/2020 10:26

@Zaalfruit Google 'bloody show' or 'mucus plug'- that's the cervical plug tinged with blood and is normal. If you've got blood on its own I'd call in and see what they say.

booandbumpp · 28/09/2020 10:26

@Zaalfruit I wiped and got blood in discharge this morning. They said it was my mucus plug starting to come away.

I’m thoroughly confused. Yesterday I had a sweep and doctor said my cervix was soft and I was about 1cm dilated. Today midwife said I wasn’t dilated at all!
Anyway, I’m in, it’s an inpatient induction as opposed to an outpatient induction which I’m a little disappointed with. Sleepless nights on the ward again. Last time induction took 4 days so I’m gearing myself up for that again except this time with no DP or mum to keep me company!

FourPlasticRings · 28/09/2020 10:34

Welcome @Momtot!

Good luck to all those big induced today! Very exciting.

@blankiesandunicorns I know exactly how you feel. Nothing happening here either.

I thought I was maybe getting somewhere yesterday- proper contractions that intensified with movement, though too frequent to be actual labour. But then my birthing ball popped with me on it! Hit the floor with a bump, bruised my coccyx and now in a lot more discomfort than before. Also, contractions stopped. 🙄

FourPlasticRings · 28/09/2020 10:35

@booandbumpp the cervix can contract again, generally in response to stress or anxiety. Adrenaline works against the dilation process.

booandbumpp · 28/09/2020 10:40

@FourPlasticRings oh bloody hell. I tried my best to stay calm 😫 I guess my anxiety and PTSD is gonna be working against me throughout this. Thanks for letting me know
