Glad you are in getting it checked @bluemoon2468 you dine well lasting as long as you did at home. Maybe baby is back to back also, they said you will experience mostly pain in back xx

MrsK89 · 25/09/2020 15:16

@Treacle81 sending prayers ❤️
Did they not say anything when you were in hospital, I think there are some things you can do at home, will need to have a Google to confirm x

MrsK89 · 25/09/2020 15:17

Good luck @Bluemoon2468 let us know how you get on x

otterbaby · 25/09/2020 15:17

@Treacle81 I don't think back to back is ideal but it shouldn't affect a natural labour too much, I think it can just be a bit more painful on your back. You're having a real time of it right now 😢

@bluemoon2468 hopefully you get some answers and don't have to wait too long.

@AutumnBabyWinterMummy ooo I love organising stuff like that! You'll feel so much better once it's done!

@Zaalfruit sausage rolls are a really good idea actually. Might be my weekend task!

Approaching 39 weeks now - baby has been SO active the last two days, it feels like she's trying to escape through my bellybutton. I just want to tell her please do try to escape but aim a bit lower, you might actually get somewhere 😂

BntTowers · 25/09/2020 15:20

@bluemoon2468 glad you are being seen.

@AutumnBabyWinterMummy Christmas movies seems like a brilliant idea! I've just started watching The Duchess on Netflix which is quite good.

@justanothermamma keep the next to me up, people will be able to see the room and it really doesn't matter that much.

I've had an email from HR saying they've not had a certain form from me, I've just returned the email I sent to them with the form from the 14th August... They are so useless!

justanothermamma · 25/09/2020 15:28

@BntTowers @AutumnBabyWinterMummy It's a second viewing so you're probably right, we just haven't had many so I don't want to give them any reason to dislike it 😂.

So work have already needed me today, but that will die off hopefully! Been so stressed today about the birth next week, I'm concerned about how DD is going to react to the baby, I fell out with DH over the phone about arrangments, I'm worrying about trying to make sure childcare is totally sorted for DD when I'm in hospital.. ended up crying loads and now I'm watching Netflix alone with chocolate feeling sorry for myself. Hormones are awful sometimes aren't they?

AutumnBabyWinterMummy · 25/09/2020 15:55

@Treacle81 I know what you mean, just our nesting instinct kicking in!

@bluemoon2468 I hope they can help you out with it

@BntTowers I watched a few episodes of the duchess too it's quite funny isn't it. Just an easy watch.

@justanothermamma aw hope you're ok. That was me a few days ago with us disagreeing with when the baby is here and visitors etc. It can be quite stressful at times being so close to the birth!!

BettyBotter1 · 25/09/2020 16:32

@bluemoon2468 glad they're checking you out and @Treacle81 my baby is currently back to back too. I gather avoiding reclining is best and trying to keep upright and forward. If lying down then being on your side is best. NCT website had a reassuring page about what percentage turn and how it's best not to worry too much as most will turn. If baby doesnt turn it does mean an increased risk of an instrument birth to help them out as the smallest part of the head isn't probably the bit pressing on cervix. My midwife told me to make myself comfy in the latent stage and then try to keep upright in the active stage. Fingers crossed for us all 🤞
@bnttowers hope hr get their act together, they can be useless can't they.
I'm 39 weeks today!!

FourPlasticRings · 25/09/2020 17:00

@bluemoon2468 Good luck- I hope they can get you sorted out. Are you having to be there on your own?

@BntTowers excellent idea! I'm going to stick on some feel-good romcoms tonight, I think!

@Treacle81 I don't think anyone is ever completely ready. My conservatory is basically a swirling vortex of entropy at the moment! The most important thing is that you're both healthy.

@Zaalfruit- good shout on the baking. I might give the puff pastry a whirl this weekend with my toddler's help. We've managed to get some stuff frozen thankfully, though not as much as I'd like.

@justanothermamma I hope you had a fabulous day! You've earned it.

FourPlasticRings · 25/09/2020 17:04

Congratulations on 39 weeks @BettyBotter1!

MrsK89 · 25/09/2020 18:19

I'm getting induced tomorrow morning everyone!!! Help, panic is setting in haha. Any advice? Am I meant to eat before I go in?

FourPlasticRings · 25/09/2020 18:25

@MrsK89

Ooh, how exciting! I'm afraid I've no experience of it, but from my research I'd definitely get an epidural before they put a drip in. I would eat beforehand unless told not to.

Quiffy · 25/09/2020 18:36

@Zaalfruit sausage rolls sound v tasty

@MrsK89 good luck with your induction! If you’re getting persary first I think you eat as normal but I’m not 100% sure

@bluemoon2468 hope you’re doing okay

@BntTowers your work are endless 😩

@justanothermamma hope you’re feeling a bit better now

@Treacle81 fingers crossed for baby turning 🤞🤞

blankiesandunicorns · 25/09/2020 19:22

@MrsK89 I am pretty sure you eat as normal unless told not to, you need the energy for labour so have whatever you fancy.

Hope you're getting somewhere @bluemoon2468 and feeling better

Spark27 · 25/09/2020 19:35

Yeah @MrsK89 eat as normal before and have snacks as you want. My induction last time took a while so I got to choose from all the meal options as normal. You'll probably want your OH to take in some snacks for him once hes allowed in. Esp as he might not be able to leave the room at all. If you're happy to have an epidural I'd definitely recommend having it before/same time as the drip as that can really ramp up the pain. And try and get an epidural that allows you to move your legs. Makes it easier to get in kneeling positions.

And if at any point during the induction process you're in pain you can have more than just paracetamol. You can have gas and air throughout, oramorph, etc. Dont let them fob you off and say you have to wait til your 4cm+.

I found my induction a really calm, positive experience. And I managed to nap from about 4cm to 8cm. xx

Treacle81 · 25/09/2020 19:42

@BntTowers Oh, sitting v bored in hospital so i'll maybe give the Duchess a go 👍tried to catch up on some well needed sleep but too much running thru my head. Hope all going OK @bluemoon2468. Oh second viewing is promising @justanothermamma 🤞 ahh @MrsK89 not looked anything up so can't help but v exciting!! @Spark27 can't stop thinking about pesto and mozzarella scones since you posted it on Sept thread, need these in my life!!! Never tried a savoury scone before, I'm sure I'd love it! @FourPlasticRingsand that description made me laugh out loud lol @otterbaby we should have neon flashing arrows installed in our wombs at this point with directions to help them out 😂. Congrats on 39 weeks @BettyBotter1 🥳xx

bluemoon2468 · 25/09/2020 20:02

Thanks so much for all of your well wishes everyone, means a lot! I'm home now. Was diagnosed with severe PGP and trapped femoral nerves in my legs or something like that, can't fully remember what the doctor said! Basically baby's head is at an awkward angle (he's sideways, neither back to back nor back to bump) and it's compressing my nerves so every time either I or he move I'm in excruciating pain. Been sent home with a whole host of prescription painkillers. Was offered an induction but declined for now - I'd really like to see if I can manage the pain and go the natural route if I can. Although god knows how I'm going to have a mobile, active labour when I can barely move 😬

Spark27 · 25/09/2020 20:06

Haha, sorry @Treacle81. I made some pesto and emmenthal ones for lunch today as realised DD and DH were home and I didnt really have anything lunchy in. They were good.
I watched the Duchess last week. Very funny and easy to watch x

I hope the drugs help @bluemoon2468 xx

BecLJ · 25/09/2020 20:28

No baby here yet! I came in to hospital yesterday but was only given the induction this morning (after about half an hour sleep because the ward was so noisy!) Now just waiting to see if it has worked and when I can be admitted to labour ward as it's apparently very very busy! I likely wont know for sure until midnight or so Confused dont know how I'm going to have the energy to give birth!!

MrsK89 · 25/09/2020 20:54

Thank you everyone x
@Spark27 last time they did exactly that and refused to give me gas and air till 4cm and by the time they came back I was pushing so again they wouldn't give me any gas 😔
Just had a nice half a soak and DH has bought me some salt and pepper chips 😁
I'm taking some snacks with me and didn't realise DH may not be able to leave once in, so I'll make sure he has some food to keep him going. Or he might get hangry 🙄 x

Treacle81 · 25/09/2020 20:59

Aww that's sounds awful @bluemoon2468 hope you are doped up and it takes the edge off ASAP! I'm with you on the natural labour, just hope I have a say tomorrow if baby is moving OK at next monitoring session. @BecLJ I'm lucky to be in my own room but still getting woken lots, not great. I wish you evergy and a speedy labour! Oh stop @Spark27 I'm salivating lol. Not much of a baker or cook 🙄 but they seem easy enough so I'll give it a go lol xx

MrsK89 · 25/09/2020 21:04

Anddd DH has just brought a tray of Krispy kremes out of the car. Yum yum yum

AutumnBabyWinterMummy · 25/09/2020 21:07

@MrsK89 good luck tomo!!

@bluemoon2468 I'm glad they have been able to help you, and the painkillers should definitely help

@BecLJ let us know how it goes! Hope you're ok

justanothermamma · 25/09/2020 21:42

@FourPlasticRings Thanks sweetheart!

@MrsK89 Good luck tomorrow! No idea on the eating front, all I got told was to take snacks! I was 4cm when I went in last time so got gas and air, I hope they aren't strict on it if I'm not 4cm, didn't even think about that! I think me and DH are going to do a quick supermarket shop before the induction for sandwiches and what not, he eats like a pig (and never puts any bloody weight on, lucky bugger!). God I love Krispy Kreme, so jealous!!!

@Quiffy I fell asleep putting DD to bed, so a bit disorientated and my eyes are puffy as hell from my meltdown earlier, but I'm slumped on the sofa now all cosied up! Hope you're okay too!

@Spark27 I found that info about induction really helpful and reassuring, thank you.

@Treacle81 Second viewing is very promising indeed! We shall see what happens!!

@bluemoon2468 I hope the drugs help lovely, that sounds so uncomfortable! You're so brave waiting it out, I'd have taken the induction like wuss ha!

Treacle81 · 25/09/2020 23:51

@MrsK89 hope you enjoy your donuts and good luck for tomorrow xx
