@blankiesandunicorns sending hugs. That is good news they are all happy with her. Maybe try some mindfulness/hypno tracks on youtube or spotify to try and zone out a bit. Really hope you feel better.

Treacle81 · 24/09/2020 16:20

Sorry to hear all of those with so much pain, sounds awful. @bluemoon2468 when are you due again? Sounds like surely they need to see you if in so much pain. I got results back MRI normal so it is labrinthitis after all which unfortunately just goes away on its own. I'll be given antisickness tablets to help symptoms, so just waiting to hear if I can be discharged today 🤞 they are happy with baby movements and tbh just want to get home, bathe and get into my own bed! @BecLJ Good luck, won't be long now and think that's wise decision @CharlieBalf xx

bluemoon2468 · 24/09/2020 16:36

@Treacle81 due on 3rd. I guess there's nothing much they can do for me tbh, they just said take paracetamol and come in if/when you have 3 contractions in 10 mins 🤷🏼‍♀️ Atm the stomach pains are really, really irregular so I think I'm a long way off from that point!

Spark27 · 24/09/2020 16:47

Sorry to hear you're still in pain @bluemoon2468. Have you got a tens machine or anything you can try. Apparently you can use them from 37w. I hope something helps and you manage to get some sleep xx

Hopefully the anti sickness meds help @Treacle81 and you get to go home soon. Will be so nice to be home and with your DP.

Exciting to hear of inductions being booked and good baby weights on scans. I'm feeling like I want to eat everything today. And everything chocolate. Managed an 1hr nap early. Tiredness just suddenly hit me and I couldn't keep my eyes open. Then woke up as I needed a wee 🙄. Might go for a nice warm, relaxing bath before DD gets home in an hr. Make the most of the peace 😁x

AutumnBabyWinterMummy · 24/09/2020 16:55

@CharlieBalf I'm the same, I feel bad but spd has got so bad that I have 2 before bed and that usually sees me through, a few times I've woken about 4am and had to take 2 more but I think us taking tablets to manage our pain is better then us suffering and being stressed which is also
not good for the baby.

@NWnature ah that's lovely from your colleagues! The acupuncture sounds good.

@Treacle81 I'm glad the mri came back as normal, hope you feel better soon

BntTowers · 24/09/2020 17:24

@Treacle81 good news on the MRI, hopefully it will sort itself out soon.

Sorry to hear all those in pain and suffering with their backs.

@NWnature that sounds lovely from your colleagues. I got nothing, not even a card, which compared to someone who went off last year there was something from the office, company and team. I didn't expect anything from the office as such, but a card from the team would have been nice, I know I hadn't been there as long as she had and I never expect anything like that, but still it would have felt like the work I had done was appreciated... Just makes it even easier when I say I'm not going back.

I've managed to clean two bathrooms today and put together a playlist for birth. Just happy songs with good memories attached to them. Tried to do some more colostrum harvesting, I'm not even getting half way up to the 0.1 line at the moment! Will have to get in the bath after tea and have another go.
I think the cats are sending things changing, they've both been clingy and even more demanding than normal, or they just don't like the change in weather...

@BecLJ sounds like you're next, keep us updated when you can. Good luck.

bluemoon2468 · 24/09/2020 17:27

@BntTowers have you tried pumping? I wasn't getting anywhere with hand expressing but by using my pump even on the lowest setting I can get 5mls in about 15 mins!

Zaalfruit · 24/09/2020 17:28

@justanothermamma thank you - football is dh life . So many times we have tried to go hot places and he has a Liverpool T-shirt on and they have said no entry - as football jerseys aren’t allowed in.

@NWnature that’s a nice send off from work. I had a really good one too - deffo John Lewis vouchers are the best.

@Spark27 thank you that makes a little bit of sense I was a little confused on how it all works.

@BecLJ good luck - you might be holding baby by this time tomorrow !

@bluemoon2468 hopefully the pain eases off a little bit to allow you to sleep.

BntTowers · 24/09/2020 17:32

@bluemoon2468 I only have a haaka manual one at the moment because I was going to wait and see, but may have a look into some electric ones.

BntTowers · 24/09/2020 17:32

bluemoon2468 · 24/09/2020 17:36

@BntTowers I have the Bellababy one. It's super cheap (compared to other more well known brands) and it was recommended to me by loads of mums who said it's one of the best pumps on the market despite the price! Seems to be really effective so far 😊

Zaalfruit · 24/09/2020 17:39

@Treacle81 thank goodness for the all clear from the mri. Hopefully it clears up soon and fast. Deffo hopefully they let you go home where you can rest up in the comfort of your own home.

@BntTowers that not nice of work , even an e- card Is better than nothing. Don’t worry You arent going back and good riddance to them

BntTowers · 24/09/2020 17:45

@bluemoon2468 thanks I will have a look into it tonight and hopefully get one ordered. Would like to have a little something to give to baby at birth as with GD babies their sugars can be a little off at first.

@Zaalfruit it's not but isn't important. I'm just glad I'm not working anymore at the moment!

NWnature · 24/09/2020 17:56

Ooh I have the haaka and the elvie - maybe I should try those to see if it helps with getting the colostrum coming. I’ve had no luck so far with just hands but also maybe not persevering for long enough- do you keep going for like 20 mins til anything comes?

Ps sorry I am so poor with @ people and tagging! I don’t know how you guys keep up x

Quiffy · 24/09/2020 18:21

Oh em geeee there’s too much to catch up on

@HerondaleDucks gorgeous baby and name ❤️

@BecLJ very exciting good luck!

@bluemoon2468 that sounds awful :( hope you get some relief soon

Sorry for to those who didn’t get a card from work. I think a card is such an easy thing to do and means a lot. Even in COVID times, one person could right messages

I’ve been out a lot yesterday and today so feeling pains more. Yesterday I was getting electric shocks in my back and sides, I think baby has dropped too as bump different and movements. Fingers crossed things are getting ready 🤞🤞

MrsK89 · 24/09/2020 18:49

Ahh @Bluemoon2468 😔 have you tried a hot water bottle on your back. Call the midwife again x

Treacle81 · 24/09/2020 18:56

@bluemoon2468 I'm just thinking of what @Treaclepie19 said about not waiting till 3 in 10, got to hospital and quickly was, just hope you can control your pain and you are in established labour soon. Oh never even thought of trying to pump! Might give it a go next week and if doesn't work hopefully might kick start labour as they say it can. See how I'm feeling by then. @NWnature that was v sweet of your work and @BntTowers sorry to hear how shit your colleagues (soon to be ex colleagues) are. Someone from my team was driving out to me with a team gift on Tues but unfortunately had to come to hospital so need to re arrange. Doc just been, I've to stay in tonight for obs on myself and baby, they will do mine 4 hourly through the night as usual, baby monitoring in morning then hopefully home 🤗. Midwife did say I've had 3 or 4 actual contractions she could see on print out, I thought at times it's just baby stretching right out that was causing the tight feeling - now I know for sure! Had a little mucus plug and a few clear out so just wait and see. Defo want to get home before I'm back in here lol only managed to strip wash since Tues! Not at all ready xx

blankiesandunicorns · 24/09/2020 19:51

Thank you @NWnature I am going to get to bed soon and see if I can sleep. Just sent DH out to get me a McFlurry first though!

Hope you're ok @bluemoon2468, must be awful being in pain and not knowing for sure if is it's labour.

Sounds like lots of us are struggling at the moment in one way or another, hopefully these babies don't keep us waiting much longer.

CharlieBalf · 24/09/2020 20:18

@treacle81 I feel your pain... When I was in earlier in the week I was just praying thta I could get at least one day at home before having to go in for real. I slept most of today and had a shower. Feel a bit more myself now. Juts talk to baby and ask for a favour 😉

Treacle81 · 24/09/2020 21:18

@CharlieBalf lol I'll give anything a try! @blankiesandunicorns oh what is give for ice cream, these baby wards are too damn hot!!!! Or chocolate like you want @Spark27 been craving some since got here on Tues and had to settle for Fibre one bars I packed. I'm getting a McDs or a KFC or BK, milkshake, ice cream and a big bar of chocolate 2m.i had lost 3 pound on Mon at last weigh in and with being so poorly imagine I've got room to eat LOTS lol. Just messaging my furend who gave birth a week ago, she said she start Ed having contractions around 10 pm all thru the night, I just hope I can manage to cope that long! xx

Treaclepie19 · 24/09/2020 21:23

@bluemoon2468 if you're contractions are getting more intense or you're finding them hard to cope with then push to go in.
If I hadn't pushed to go in I'd have had an accidental homebirth.

You can definitely cope @Treacle81! Just count through each one until it stops and you know you get a break.
Also remember the point when you transition and say you can't do it, you've almost finished ❤

Plus once the snuggly baby is out your pain has finished and its all forgotten.
Excited for you all 😊

bluemoon2468 · 24/09/2020 21:29

@Treaclepie19 I'm not really having contractions as such, that's the problem 😬 It's just constant lower back pain and occasional stomach cramps, but tbh the stomach pain isn't that bad just like moderate period pains. Currently thinking I'm not in labour 😕 Not really sure what it is but assume it would have got a lot worse over the past 24 hours...

Treacle81 · 25/09/2020 01:48

Oh girls, just went to the toilet there, got so dizzy nearly fell over and got myself onto bed then vomited everywhere. I cannot possibly have a baby any time soon feeling like this 😭😭😭xx

Zaalfruit · 25/09/2020 02:15

Woke up randomly with period pains forgot I was pregnant ran to the toilet for a pad. Now back in bed feeling acid reflux pain from the run. Joys of pregnancy

CharlieBalf · 25/09/2020 04:51

@Zaalfruit I was in the bath earlier and got the same pains, I had a little groan and my hubby called out if I was OK. I said, 'yeah, just that time of the month', 😂 I mean, there was a huge great big clue right in front of me but my brain is literal mush right now.

Hope you got back to sleep!
