@Treaclepie19 I'm glad you're no longer stressed about breastfeeding, I will be doing the same if it doesn't work quite quickly for me.

@LexiM oh i would have been having a fit if that happened with my baby (obv on the inside!) but I think it would tip me over the edge when the visitors would have left. I thought you weren't meant to kiss newborns at the best of times anyway as a visitor? That's also what I'm worried about, I think my in laws think it's not all that serious as they are out enjoying life like normal and would they think my rules would be too strict for them and just sort of not go with them even if it's just an accident because they aren't used to being so strict about it all. The thing is I can quite easily tell my own parents if I see them doing something wrong to stop but it's like I can't speak to in-laws the same.

@Treaclepie19 I'm glad it's not just me who feels this way with visitors. Have you decided how long before you'll let anyone hold her?

@bluemoon2468 I'm having horrible back pains at the minute too only came on this last week. I'm the same a hot bath, my new tens machine and some paracetamol makes it bearable to sleep otherwise I wouldn't be able to. I haven't had the stomach cramps to go with it. I would say if the pain is continuous it probably isn't labour but if in waves it could be. I've heard back pain can be where some people have their contractions.

@Spark27 aw that's annoying for you!

Does anyone have a really sore rib or ribs because of baby underneath? I've been in constant pain for about a week with it x

bluemoon2468 · 24/09/2020 09:45

@Buzz22 baby is head down but sideways with his back coming round the left side of my bump. I hate ringing triage, they're always so dismissive on the phone 😬 Unfortunately where I live it's triage or nothing, you can't contact a midwife directly 😔

bluemoon2468 · 24/09/2020 09:46

@AutumnBabyWinterMummy yeah the back pain is continuous, but it does get worse every time I have a stomach cramp, although those are really irregular, sometimes I'll get 2 within 10 mins, then it might be half an hour until the next one.

AutumnBabyWinterMummy · 24/09/2020 09:50

@bluemoon2468 ah well I'd call triage even if they are dismissive just to at least put a tick in that box. But also I'd download a contractions counting app and just see if there's a pattern to it. I got one called Freya it's the positive birth company app but anyone can buy it (sorry you might already have one) x

FourPlasticRings · 24/09/2020 09:51

@justanothermamma I got to 39+0 last time, born early morning so by this time last pregnancy I'd had DD for over 5 hours! I was so convinced this one would be even earlier. Baby is clearly contrary or disorganised- must take after me!

@Spark27 That's annoying but clean house is wonderful. I'm so jealous. It's today's job for me. Sad

@bluemoon2468 Might be early labour. I'd ring.

@LexiM I would be so horrified if someone kissed my baby! Grandparents are starting to get sneaky ones in now DD is two. I'm a bit 🤨 about it but at least they have the good sense not to kiss her on the lips. I don't actually think my aunts or uncles have ever held DD, though my sisters and friends did when she was a bit older.

@Zaalfruit it's mad that sleep is so hard to come by at this stage, isn't it? You'd think that your body would make sure you get enough knowing what's coming, but nope.

Spark27 · 24/09/2020 10:09

I've been getting some rib pain the last week or so @Autumnbabywintermummy. Nothing major, just uncomfortable and twingy. I think it's just ribs spreading. Had a urine test and things at the weekend so not worried about pre eclampsia. xx

Treaclepie19 · 24/09/2020 10:16

@AutumnBabyWinterMummy I haven't really said anything yet about it. I'd like to leave it a few weeks minimum though... if at all. We've been happy in our little family over lockdown and I dont want to change it now.

I'm sort of welcoming lockdown measures because it takes the decision away.

Zaalfruit · 24/09/2020 11:11

@bluemoon2468 deffo call Up triage and see what they say . I know my areas the same no direct contact .

( how does it work after you have a baby to register them at the doctors?)

justanothermamma · 24/09/2020 11:48

@Zaalfruit I just want to give you a hug! I think it's a football thing, if I dare to questions DH's attendance at anything football related it's like WW3. Hopefully baby won't keep you waiting too long now!

@bluemoon2468 Sounds like things are happening or at least starting! My midwife told me things can take a few days sometimes and said it was the "Latent Phase", but give triage a ring for advice. Have you had any other symptoms? Discharge, clear out 😬?

@FourPlasticRings 39 weeks is good going! My DD was late last time. They obviously get faaar too comfy in there!

Spark27 · 24/09/2020 12:17

@Zaalfruit you use the birth certificate to register them at the drs. The whole birth certificate thing can be a bit messed up at the moment due to Covid. Fortunately my registry office is open for appointments, but if not or theres a long backlog there is a form on Gov.uk where you can temporarily register them before you can do it officially. This means you can still claim any child benefit, etc. But I'm sure if it was an emergency drs would still see them and they would be registered as a temporary patient awaiting registering. Hope that makes sense xx

BecLJ · 24/09/2020 13:31

Huge congratulations @Treaclepie19 and @HerondaleDucks!

I think I will be joining you in the new baby club soon as I am just about to go in for an induction. I had a growth scan this morning and because of the baby being big and excess fluid they have decided to induce me! Very scared now but excited too I think, she will hopefully be here tomorrow!!

BettyBotter1 · 24/09/2020 13:44

@BecLJ oh wow, good luck! Exciting you will be meeting your baby soon :)
@bluemoon2468 sounds like it could be the latent stage and so could be normal that it goes on for days. If you're concerned I wouldn't worry about phoning triage it's what they are there for.
@Spark27 and @Buzz22 morr cancellations on house viewings, how annoying for you
@Spark27 I didn't know about the temporary birth registration form, good to know. I just phoned my registry office and they said they have caught up. I'm going to want to get my baby registered and a passport asap so I can leave the country with her and we can start our new life as a family together :)

justanothermamma · 24/09/2020 14:28

@BecLJ Good luck sweetheart! X

MrsK89 · 24/09/2020 14:53

Aww good luck @BecLJ my induction is this Saturday 😬
How is everyone feeling today?

@Bluemoon2468 how you feeling now?

Buzz22 · 24/09/2020 15:03

@BecLJ good luck! Looking forward to another baby on the thread! Keep us posted x

@bluemoon2468 how are you doing now? I've noticed I've had some mild cramps and backache today. Not sure I'm symptom spotting or not! Did you ring triage?

bluemoon2468 · 24/09/2020 15:07

Thanks for all of the support everyone! No change here, still loads of back pain and a bit of stomach pain... very uncomfortable but no distinctive contractions as such. Tbh I have no idea what's going on. Half of me thinks this is a slow start to labour and the other half of me thinks it's just really bad SPD pain or something. As I predicted, triage weren't particularly interested as movements are fine, no bleeding and no regular contractions. They just said it could be the start of labour or it could not, which is basically what I had already worked out myself 🙈 Went on a short walk and it was excruciating 😔 Dreading how long this might go on for if it's not labour 😬

MrsK89 · 24/09/2020 15:15

Aww @Bluemoon2468 they should really take more notice if the pain isn't budging, have you have taken paracetamol? Midwife usually says if the pain doesn't go with the painkillers then to come in.
Get some rest and see how you get on and don't hesitate to call them back x

otterbaby · 24/09/2020 15:19

@bluemoon2468 SPD could be the other option, mine came on overnight and was horrendous - went from feeling fantastic to hobbling around and having to slide down the stairs on my bum. The good news is, it also went away overnight (2 weeks later, but still!) so hopefully if it's that, it doesn't last too long x

otterbaby · 24/09/2020 15:20

@BecLJ good luck! Hope it goes quickly 😊

bluemoon2468 · 24/09/2020 15:20

@MrsK89 yep taken paracetamol and it only makes a tiny bit of difference, still too uncomfortable to sit or lie down which is the worst thing... I'm so tired and would love to have a nap but I have to keep pacing around or the back pain becomes unbearable!

AutumnBabyWinterMummy · 24/09/2020 15:33

@BecLJ good luck! You'll have your baby in your arms soon! X

CharlieBalf · 24/09/2020 15:35

Ahh two new babas! Live the pics of little Ennis and Beatrix @HerondaleDucks and @Treaclepie19 ❤️

I'm back at home, baby is healthy so we decided to stick with the og plan but baby is 7.13 so by next week we will discuss induction I think. They gave me the option yesterday after my scan but as baby is quite settled Id like to wait a little longer for spontaneous labour. Might change my mind though in a day or two - baby's head is so low now the sonographer couldnt get an accurate measurement 😂 Big fat tummy and lot of hair apparently... Just like hubby!

Had to take paracetamol last night because if SPD issues but had a good sleep so may have to rely on this methed of dosing up before bed for a week or so.

Hope everyone else is OK x

NWnature · 24/09/2020 16:01

The babies are just adorable!

Good luck @BecLJ

NWnature · 24/09/2020 16:02

Also really sorry to hear so many suffering with SPD / other pains. Really hope you get some let up and a good nights sleep.

Oh and finally - I ordered a clary sage candle from Etsy - another tip for bringing on natural labour from the zoom send off. Ha! Every little helps right.

blankiesandunicorns · 24/09/2020 16:18

Hey everyone sorry to hear those who are in pain and suffering.

Had growth scan today and they're happy with her growth so don't feel the need for intervention. She's big but consistent so all looking ok.

I cannot sleep, even tried napping today and can't switch off, I'm going to end up going into labour already exhausted at this rate which isn't ideal 😔 I was ok on little sleep before but now it's making me really tired and emotional
