My accent confuses everyone I meet, so North Walien that spoke mostly welsh growing up, moved to Scotland for Uni, picked up a Glasweigan twang, lived in Shropshire now long enough for the Glasweigan twang to die down and a welsh accent to come back (but not the gavin and stacey one, more liverpoolian) 🤣
also @SmileyT has disappeared since she announced she was on Take me out 😏😏

Sorry to everyone that is going into lockdown it really is shit, read something about a nationwide lockdown for 2weeks over half term which sounds like a bloody nightmare to me. Especially annoying when you still have to go to work and do all the boring stuff but can't see friends and family 😭 My immediate family that we have at my parents for Xmas day is normally somewhere between 25 and 35 and I do most of the cooking, because although my mum invites them all she is veggie and doesn't want to cook for them 😂 and still no partners are scans here and midwife appts on the phone until 24weeks 🙄

@blodyn91 ahh it's made me feel better about your RHR I kinda know it doesn't mean anything but when you have nothing else to go on I'm constantly looking for signs, but pulling myself out of the spiral 🙈

@zippityzip god that WhatsApp group sounds like a pile of shit... tbh I find any group with more than about 8 people hard to deal with.

And I'm an Essex girl, who now lives in North London, but went to a pretty posh private school so I don't think I have much of an accent but probably just sound like a Londoner (a Londoner that was on Take Me Out and completely outing myself on MN ffs). In other news this week has killed me, left work at 3.30 went to the gym, got home showered and just rolled naked into bed 😂

Ever since swimming was mentioned I've really wanted to go so spent the last hour looking for places near me that are open and turns out the only place that is allowing non members at the moment only does lane swims 06:30-08:30. I'd have to be out, dressed and in the car setting off to work by 8 so getting there at 6.30 defo wouldn't happen 😂

I have a Welsh accent too. I'm from the South Wales valleys but I don't have a valleys accent... it's not like gavin & Stacey, maybe more like Catherine Jenkins... Less valleys more of a Welsh speakers accent haha @blodyn91 will know what I mean 😂

Sorry I've not kept up very well these last 24hrs. I was out for a lovely meal for my grandma's birthday yesterday and today nausea & indegestion has had me feeling very sorry for myself.

We someone out to get the ball rolling for plans for our kitchen reno this evening. It's going to be a heck of a project, needs planning permission etc,which we knew but he said I think it's probably going to be Mid March before you can realistically get going with this maybe even April and me an DH were like 😬... As soon as he left DH said to me, don't worry we'll get it done by April 🙈🙈🙈 I bloody hope so or I'm guna be spending my 1st weeks with a newborn at my parents house. Which isn't the worst but definitely NOT how I'd hoped to spend our 1st weeks as a family. Jesus christ what are we doing?! 🙈

@Sausage1990 we did ours a year or two ago and it was hellish but also the best thing for our home
We knocked internal walls down , removed plumbing and ripped up and out everything but I like the outcome - I’ll see if I can attach a photos

Also I have allowed myself a midwife appointment
I’ve got my booking in one on Monday

@Bl0ndi3 they had this thing at the leisure centre by me where you become a 'Wildcard' member so you can use online booking, but it just costs £1 per year. Do yours offer anything like that? Took me a while to find it on their website

Although only ended up booking an early morning swim and slept in 😒 my days of being wide awake at 5-7am have long gone

And on the accent front - the Stoke accent is so weird. It doesn't really sound like anything. Some people think it sounds a bit like scouse but I really don't think it does. Mine wasn't as strong for years when I was at uni in Portsmouth but back with a vengeance now and love it

@Mustbemad82 oh wow your kitchen is gorgeous!!! I'm excited about having my new kitchen & it will be so much better for our family... It was meant to be in full swing by now if not already done but we had to put the remortgage on hold due to covid and then of course my head wasn't in a very good place for a while and as soon as it was I've felt shocking due to the pregnancy so it's taken me a while to get my arse in gear with everything. Hopefully we'll be able to get it all done in time 😬 I'm sure we will. I'm hoping that a positive mental attitude will be enough haha.

On the Covid front - so glad I refused to go back in the office. The bloody receptionist tested positive and is really poorly! But how bad is this... we weren't officially told by the company until a week or two after she'd been off sick, they didn't tell us who is was or where they sat or what days they were in. They just said 'track and trace will be in touch in a few days if you were in on the same days and on the same floor as the person'. But she's the receptionist/office manager! People come to get post from right by her desk and ask her about meeting rooms and loads of stuff.

Feel a bit mixed about restrictions because two friends have lost parents to Covid who were young, fit and well. One in the 'herd immunity' phase the govt were so keen on 🙄 rule of six is daft though. But remember ladies, if you do a bit of hunting / shooting at Xmas dinner, the more the merrier 😉

@samilicious that's terrible about your work situation. They should have ekt everyone know immediately. I'm glad you didn't go back to the office either.

The health board I work for covers 2 areas that have alot of covid currently, 1 of which is already in lockdown and the other is on the watch list. I'm really lucky that the hospital I work at is actually in a part of Wales where there aren't so many numbers but I feel like it's only a matter of time. And I don't know what to do for the best. I think the guidelines are you can work in a hospital up to 28 weeks but after that you must work form home but I don't know. I'm guna have to look it up I think. I'm waiting for my scan before telling work which is literally 9 days away but I did wonder if I should say sooner for risk assessment but them I don't think it'll make a difference. I feel quite nervous about the whole situation. Even tho I'm non patient facing and our offices aren't in the hospital building. I don't know how we're back here again 🙈

@blodyn91 season 10 I think 🤔 and no date for me @samilicious yeah dating shows on tv are pretty traumatising 😂

@Mustbemad82 that kitchen is lush 😍 and @Sausage1990 I'm sure you can get it all sorted by next April, just get that planning permission in 👌🏾

@samilicious it's great you don't have to go back into the office, somebody where I work died in April, still weird being in there looking at the desk where he used to work 😭unfortunately for me because the government guidance is that you have to go to work unless your employer is happy for you to work from home, I shall be getting the underground and working in the office until 40weeks I reckon 😂 @Sausage1990 let me know if you find any info about working after 28weeks, I thought that everyone had to work up to mat leave now, just moved away from public facing roles (although you can obviously take mat leave from 29weeks anyway) I find the info online confusing 🤷🏾‍♀️ Also are we/ baby at higher risk? The NHS site seems to say no but reading online is now making me more nervous 😭
