Hi girls 👋🏻 I saw your message on the ttc board @Mococo1 so I thought I'd pop on and let you know I'm doing okay. The news has sunk in a bit now & not feeling quite so raw. Me & DH are having a quiet weekend & focusing on positive things to make this time a little easier. Its our 1st wedding anniversary on Monday (5th) so we decided to celebrate this weekend instead, and try to find some light in these darker times. We have our hospital appointment to plan the next stage & 2nd scan on Monday so we agreed to celebrate before so the day isn't tinted for us.

I haven't been keeping up with the conversations in here as I've found it too hard but I have been thinking of you all. The girls on the TTC thread have been amazing & their strength (and yours) in turn will be mine.

I'll pop back & forth and keep you posted on everything. Sending lots of love to you girls xx I miss being here with you xx

Ltay2 · 03/10/2020 17:00

@Sausage1990 So nice to hear from you, glad you are starting to feel a little better. Your quiet weekend with DH sounds like just what you need. Been thinking of you ❤️

Bl0ndi3 · 03/10/2020 17:03

Oh @Sausage1990 ❤️ hey girl 😘 xxxx

blodyn91 · 03/10/2020 18:21

@zippityzip I did love my PhD! Although it was hard work! I managed to get a sponsored one, so was paid around £12,000 a year, so could scrape by. Also skipped doing a masters to save on ££ there, so that is also possible 😉
Most of mine involved working with cows, and looking at how changing their diet changes their milk- with the goal of increasing DHA (omega 3) to a level you could sell dairy products as a source of omega 3 (like they do with eggs). I never did any research on kids, only used past research as reference as to why this was a good idea. We also looked at how DHA improves fertility in cows by decreasing early embryo deaths. I could talk for days about it 🤓

Went for a run today after going out for lunch, OMG ab pain 😩 I felt like my stomach was bursting so couldn't breath properly. Never again running on a full stomach

Ltay2 · 03/10/2020 19:56

@blodyn91 Your research sounds so interesting! I did an animal welfare degree and I miss all the science and learning 😭 didn't have much experience with cows though, apart from one day of milking which terrified me 🤣 and a day of measuring calves which was cuter! My dissertation was on the effects of different bpm level of classical music on the behaviour of dogs (in a kennel environment with the aim of reducing stress).

Cocoblue22 · 03/10/2020 20:46

So ladies I need a massive catch up as I haven't been online since Tuesday!!

However.....found out today.....I'm having a boy 💙👶🏼🎉 xx

Busybee143 · 03/10/2020 21:34

@Cocoblue22 congratulations!! Is that our second boy now? I'm thinking of not finding out but I don't know if I can wait 😂

Ltay2 · 03/10/2020 22:03

@Cocoblue22 Aww yay another for team blue 💙 I can't wait to find out!!

blodyn91 · 03/10/2020 22:14

@Ltay2 where did you study that at? I love animal welfare, always pushing my farmers to understand that a magic diet will never work with out improving animal welfare

@Cocoblue22 sorry I can't remember, do you have any kids already? how exciting, what did people guess on here again 🤔! cant wait to find out either!

Catherinettc · 03/10/2020 22:28

Hey guys. Wow had a big catch up there lol.

Congrats @Cocoblue22 wee boys are lovely ❤ and in my experience easier 🤣🤣

I have no gut feeling this time yet as to gender? Usually I 'know' but just can't work it out yet lol x

Anyone else have a gut feeling?xx

SmileyT · 03/10/2020 22:33

Catching up properly tomorrow but had to
say congrats @Cocoblue22 another DS for you 💙 two boys and a man in your house so you are well and truly still the queen xx

@blodyn91 I studied at Myerscough, near Garstang. I loved it! Shame that I don't use my degree at all with the job I do now, always say all I really got out of uni is a whole load of student debt and my best friends 🤣 but I'm glad I did it!

Mrsi2020 · 04/10/2020 04:58

@Cocoblue22 aww lovely news ! I have 2 girls and i loved having two the same so they had a friend for life ❤️

How is everyone? Xxx

Cocoblue22 · 04/10/2020 06:47

Just having a catch up after a very very busy week!

@SmileyT hope you had a lovely birthday 🎂🎉 it's totally normal to be emotional atm it doesn't go away till a while after the birth x

@Sophi123 happy birthday to you too hope it was lovely 🎉🎂 x

@Mococo1 I had nesquick craving too and it was disappointing and not as I remembered...then I tried weetos they were better x

@mrsmummy1111 exactly the same situation with the boys name....we already used the one name we agreed on arghhh!! So pleased to hear your result!! X

Congratulations to all those that have had lovely scans this week! Also loving the name chat but still haven't picked one we both like! It's going to be hard!! Posting in case I lose what I've written then will carry on reading from Friday! Hope everyone is good x

Cocoblue22 · 04/10/2020 07:45

@zippityzip a silk tie? Or something silky for you (he's welcome😉) x

@LittleRa I'm exactly like you weight wise....haven't gained anything yet 17+2 but a massive bump already so I think it must be coming off other places....or it's an optical illusion 🤣 x

@Busybee143 yep this will be baby #2 second DS or do you mean 2nd baby gender confirmed on group? If so yep that is also the case me and @SmileyT are both team 💙! Ordered my first blue babygrow last night and got all of DSs old baby clothes out they all look perfect and brand new so looks like I won't need to get much! X

@blodyn91 yep this is my 2nd DS! I keep saying my boyS my DS will now have his BFF for life 💙💙 I was actually convinced baby was a girl until we got to the gender scan then he looks exactly like DS on the 3D peek scan and that made me think boy! We popped a balloon to find out it was so lovely and exciting x

@SmileyT haha hoping all these men in my life are always going to take good care of me...especially when I'm an old nana haha x

Thanks everyone for the well wishes 🥰 hope everyone is doing well and having a lovely weekend x

blodyn91 · 04/10/2020 09:18

@Cocoblue22 the scan person gave you a baloon to pop at home? Take it was a private scan? I want this 😆😆

blodyn91 · 04/10/2020 09:22

@Ltay2 I know someone who used to teach up there 🤔
Also what FB group are people on? I think im ready to join as I told my gran yesterday, will be her 10th great grand child! So excited bless her! Especially as its due around her 93rd birthday as well as I share my birthday with my gran ☺️

Ltay2 · 04/10/2020 09:38

@blodyn91 Oh really! I was there from 2011-2014 so quite a while ago now. I'm on fb groups 'Springtime Ladies' and 'Due in April 2021' both are as active as each other I think, and both 'secret' so no one other than members of the group can tell you're in them!

Mococo1 · 04/10/2020 10:07

@Cocoblue22 yay yay congratulations! That's two little boys on the thread so far 💙💙

How cute for DS to have a brother!!

I've booked in my gender scan exactly next week! Will be 16w on the dot so hope they can tell!! And don't call me back at a later date..

@blodyn91 We've bought a balloon from card factory it's so cheap for a fiver but I know you can get them for 3-5ish. They said if we find out (my scan is booked privately) I can get them to write it on piece of paper & bring the envelope & balloon to the store - the clerk will have a look and stuff the balloon with the right colour and fill with helium for us to take home & pop! Luckily there's a card factory right next to the scan centre lol

Tbh the NHS probs should sell gender reveal balloons in the scan centre - they would make shed loads of money. Was gna have my SIL buy/collect the balloon for us but I couldn't bear the thought of her knowing before me 😂 now we can all find out together!

Busybee143 · 04/10/2020 10:11

@Cocoblue22 I was thinking with you and @SmileyT, I didn't realise you had a boy already, I'm so pleased for you. I don't mind either way but if we had another girl we would have everything so it could be easier although we made a point of getting a lot of gender neutral things as we knew we were having more.

Hope your all OK today ladies ❤️

Mococo1 · 04/10/2020 10:11

@Sausage1990 so glad you are doing a bit better..I was so happy when I saw your name on that thread - the ladies on there are so lovely and supportive and we absolutely understand it being hard for you but I couldn't help but check you were okay on there ❤️ I hope you enjoy your wedding anniversary that sounds like a lovely idea to celebrate the day before..hope the next stage goes as smooth as it can for you xx

Bl0ndi3 · 04/10/2020 11:00

Morning all ❤️

The place I get my scan at sells gender (sex) reveal cannons haha so if you don't wanna know you can buy one they'll give you the right one and then you can go home and do it. They also sell heartbeat bears 😭

My Oh thinks gender reveal stuff is OTT (he's a grumpy sod but I love him dearly) so we won't be doing anything like that however I dooooo want to do something on Christmas Day to reveal to my family whether it's a boy or a girl even if it's just give my day a gift that reveals the answer as we all sit around together and open presents so everybody would see (this year will be covid allowing ofc)...

6 days til my scan 👀👀👀👀 less than a week now but the week ahead is broken up with the redundancy meeting on Wednesday so hoping it goes quick!! Desperate to see if we have a healthy sticky bean this time around 😫

Bl0ndi3 · 04/10/2020 11:03

Give my dad* lol

Cocoblue22 · 04/10/2020 12:38

@blodyn91 yeah it was a WTTW scan £59 for the gender scan then we paid an extra £10 for the video and they put the gender photo in a sealed envelope. We then got the most massive black balloon ever and it was filled by them
With blue confetti £20. We also got a box with a heartbeat bear some blue socks and a photo frame saying it's a boy £30 which was all sealed up too so we didn't find out until after we popped our balloon! It was sooooo lovely! X

mrsmummy1111 · 04/10/2020 13:56

Congrats @Cocoblue22 !!!!! 💙💙💙 how lovely another boy!

We aren't finding out the sex, and i will be truly happy no matter what this baby comes out as. But I'll admit to you girls and nobody else....I would absolutely love for DS to have a brother. Is that terrible to say?!
