@mrsmummy1111 yes it is!! LOL no it's not ❤️ I'm the same except I'd absolutely love to have a girl! However like you I'll be happy whatever as long as it's a healthy happy baby.

already have DSS and he has a little brother so be nice to give him a sister even though he will want another brother haha!

Bl0ndi3 · 04/10/2020 14:34

@Cocoblue22 💙 congratulations - how exciting 💙

I can't wait to find out 💗💙

FairyLights2 · 04/10/2020 15:06

@Cocoblue22 massive congrats 🥳💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙 xx

FairyLights2 · 04/10/2020 15:07

@Bl0ndi3 fingers crossed for your scan and work meeting! Hope you get good news for both ❤️ x

Ltay2 · 04/10/2020 15:35

@mrsmummy1111 Defo not terrible to say/think!! I'd love to have a girl but not like I would be disappointed if it was a boy!! As long as happy and healthy is all that really matters in the end!

mrsmummy1111 · 04/10/2020 15:40

It's funny because before I had a boy I wanted all girls (I only have sisters) so that's all I knew. But now I've got a boy I almost would like to have all boys. In my head I've got this idea that boys with brothers and girls with sisters tend to be closer than one of each. Which is a ridiculous thing to say because I know loads of friends who are one boy / one girl and the majority are very close, but I just feel as a girl you can't beat sisters, and equally DH says as a boy you can't beat brothers.

Cocoblue22 · 04/10/2020 16:28

@mrsmummy1111 nothing wrong in wanting a brother for your DS.....I felt like that but I also felt a girl would be nice for the other experience so it was a win win situation really! I was going to be happy either way! X

Can anyone also feel their baby moving yet? Mine is quite active atm I can feel him wiggling round and DH thinks he also could feel him last night! It's mainly at the sides tho as my placenta is at the front....sort of explains my big bump already!! It's in exactly the same place as it was with DS! X

LittleRa · 04/10/2020 16:51

In light of what you said @mrsmummy1111 I feel like sometimes people secretly want the same sex as they’ve already got, because it feels familiar in a way. Like I have DD and be happy with either this time but because my experience is of having a girl, that’s how I picture things, and I’d feel like I knew what I was doing a bit more with another girl whereas a boy is totally unchartered territory (I know that really it wouldn’t make a difference but it’s just the way I sort of picture it!). I’ll be finding out at my 20 week scan a week on Weds (14th Oct) 💙💗

My 6yo DD has written me a list of baby names, boys and girls, they mostly seem to represent names of her classmates. Rapunzel also features on the girls’ list Grin

LittleRa · 04/10/2020 16:53

@Cocoblue22 Congratulations on the 💙💙💙 news! Wow, the service at WTTW sounds great, with all those extras on offer! A few weeks ago I suddenly thought I’d book a private gender scan to give me something to tide me over while waiting for 20 week scan but when I looked online it was so booked up, the next appointment would’ve been practically when my scan is anyway.

Bl0ndi3 · 04/10/2020 17:42

How many of us are FTM and if not how many do you have are they boy or girl, oh and how old?

And also will you let your Kids have any input in the name choice or just "entertain" them with it letting them suggest etc?

My DSS came up with some horrible or boring names for his brother at his mums house and quite frankly unless he says a name I actually really like and already have in my list (he isn't going to suggest one I haven't already thought of is he haha) he ain't getting a sniff at picking the name haha... is that harsh? I don't want him thinking that he has chosen the name either, that's defo harsh isn't it? 😂

LittleRa · 04/10/2020 18:04

@Bl0ndi3 I already have a 6yo DD but from a previous relationship so this is first baby with DP (and his first full stop) 🥰 DD is very excited about being a big sister and has suggested lots of names! Mostly names of her classmates at school which are all Evie, Ava, Ivy, Ada, Lily, Isabelle/Isobel/Isabella for the girls or Harry or Teddy for the boys (yes, 4 Harrys and 3 Teddys in her class!!)

Bl0ndi3 · 04/10/2020 18:18

@LittleRa aww that's so lovely and the same as us but in reverse - my first, his second and his DS who is 8.

So basically what your DD is doing is a real help because she's telling you what not to name your baby because you know they're Uber popular haha! She's so helpful 🥰

I know my DSS will be so excited he has been saying how much he wants a baby at both of his houses since his mum had a baby over a year ago now. Obviously we will let him be as involved as he wants to be in everything including names but he can pick the name of his own babies when he's older 🤪 he adores his brother (though does feel a little left out) and he's very cute with him and always makes him laugh 🥺

LittleRa · 04/10/2020 18:25

@Bl0ndi3 At my exH’s house, his new partner has two girls who are similar ages to my DD. It’s been lovely for her to have them as a sort of sisterly relationship, especially during lockdown when she was the only child here, it meant she could still have some child interaction there. However, as much as she loves them, the two of them are of course sisters to each other and have that bond, and my DD is the youngest (only slightly- one is in the same school year as her but a few month older and the other is a couple of years ahead) and is probably slightly quieter and allows herself to be bossed by then (not in a bad way- just like their choices of games etc and she’ll go along with it) whereas it will be so nice for her to get to be the “big sister” here and have her own special bond.

Bl0ndi3 · 04/10/2020 18:29

@LittleRa oh yeah she will absolutely love having that bond with her "own" brother or sister at your house ❤️ I bet she's super excited

blodyn91 · 04/10/2020 20:03

Im one of 4, I have 2 brothers and a sister. My older brother and sister were closer, then me and my younger brother were closer growing up. Now we are all just as close but I love having brothers and a big sister, so I would secretly love 4 😆

This is my first ☺️ OH really wants a boy 😬

Sister just given me a sack of maternity clothes, more clothes than I currently own 😆🤭 So I am sorted in that department!

I love the idea of a gender reveal at Christmas 🤔 although dad doesn't understand why we want to find out

LittleRa · 04/10/2020 20:15

@blodyn91 My DP has said if it was just his decision then he wouldn’t find out the gender! But he’s happy right defer to my preference. I liked finding out when I was pregnant with DD as I felt like it helped me to bond with her while she was inside, thinking more about who she was going to be rather than an unknown and also decided on name beforehand. I think it would’ve stressed me out not knowing, giving birth and finding out and then having to start deciding on the final name then! DP says it’s exciting to wait and find out at the birth- I’m like the birth is exciting enough anyway- you end up with a baby at the end of it! Finding out at 20 weeks spreads the excitement out Grin

Obviously totally personal choice and respect those that do prefer to wait Smile

blodyn91 · 04/10/2020 20:23

@LittleRa My OH wants to find out, its my own dad that doesn't want us to know 😆 because it spoils the surprise- thats why I think some kind of gender reveal at Christmas will be a nice surprise for the grandparents to be 😆 or we just don't tell him 🤭

LittleRa · 04/10/2020 20:31

@blodyn91 Ha Ha love the idea of the whole family knowing but your dad, trying not to tell him by mistake- like on Friends Grin
Monica: I can’t believe I’m going to be an Aunt!
Joey: ... or an Uncle!!! 😂😂

Ltay2 · 05/10/2020 11:23

Scan went well today, measuring a day ahead still so due date still 10th April. Got my 20 week scan booked for 20th November 🥳 we stopped off at Tesco on the way home to get some bits so couldn't resist buying baby their first item of clothing ❤️

Mococo1 · 05/10/2020 11:26

@LittleRa that episode was soo funny 😂 🤣

Sometimes I wish we weren't able to find out as all the temptation would be gone that way..

I've always thought if we manage to have one of each then miraculously if I'm still up for a third I might be able to convince DH to not find out but he really wants to know as it's our first!

Ladies I know a lot of you recommended amazon baby monitors- could I ask which ones your purchased? I'm going to start making a list of actual products for we need as it's our first and have zero to our name (we plan on telling extended family if all is good after our 20w scan next month) so I know if they ask do we need anything a list would be helpful! 😬👍🏽

Mococo1 · 05/10/2020 11:27

@Ltay2 omg wow!!! babies face is so clear and that is the cutest baby grow😍😍

Ltay2 · 05/10/2020 12:26

@Mococo1 I'm calling it my little space invader now 👽😂😂 was sooo wriggly though difficult to get a clear side view picture! But the face on view was so clear, could even see its little tongue on the screen ☺️

mrsmummy1111 · 05/10/2020 12:36

This is the one we use @Mococo1 https://www.amazon.co.uk/Monitor-Camera-Security-Tracking-Compatible/dp/B082WS68D7/ref=ascdff_B082WS68D7/?tag=googshopuk-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=394254134106&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=1395327833520677225&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9044978&hvtargid=pla-864100886541&psc=1&tag=&ref=&adgrpid=80811964046&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvadid=394254134106&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=1395327833520677225&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9044978&hvtargid=pla-864100886541

Nice short link for you there.
It doesn't have the temp on the screen but we have a gro egg in the baby's room anyway so didn't matter to us. You download the app on your phone / iPad etc and just use that as the monitor. If you have an Alexa show (the Alexa with the screen) you can also link it to that so we tend to keep that one on permanently in the background so we can hear if he wakes or anything. The main issue we found with the monitor as baby got older, was the lights on the monitor were SO bright in baby's room - fine when tiny but as he got older he used to wake up and just stare at the monitor. Or he would just run around his cot watching the lights rather than going to sleep, whereas there's no light on this one so it doesn't distract him. Would deffo recommend. Also handy when we're out and family are babysitting as we can sneakily perv on him sleeping even though we're not home! X

mrsmummy1111 · 05/10/2020 12:37

Fab scan @Ltay2 ! Thrilled it all went well 😊😊

Bl0ndi3 · 05/10/2020 12:44

@Ltay2 oh that's so amazing ❤️ & That baby grow is adorable 🥰🥰
