@SmileyT Oh my sense of humour is sensored on MN it's actually quite vile 😂

Bl0ndi3 · 22/09/2020 16:27

@zippityzip it's tomorrow at 9:30 thankfully not too long to wait but we're all worried about redundancy 😢

zippityzip · 22/09/2020 16:42

@Bl0ndi3 I would be shitting myself. Do you have any idea what kind of package you would get if the worst happened?

My aunt has been trying to be made redundant for years but she's been there 30 years and is about 3 years off retiring. She puts herself up for VR every time but they cannot afford to pay her off.

I'm local authority so I would probably get a tenner, a fruit hamper and a thank you letter.

Bl0ndi3 · 22/09/2020 16:45

@zippityzip I am 😞 it's bad timing as I won't get maternity leave or pay if I am made redundancy before February I think and I'd get 2 weeks pay (approx £900-1000) for every year I've worked there (7) so a fair amount but not enough if say I struggle to get a job etc but we shall see what they say tomorrow 😞

zippityzip · 22/09/2020 17:15

@Bl0ndi3 oh fucking hell keeping it all crossed. I mean, no one wants to be that person but could you throw the pregnant card?!

Busybee143 · 22/09/2020 17:56

@zippityzip what a beautiful scan!!!!
@Bl0ndi3 I've got everything crossed for you, try and relax

Bl0ndi3 · 22/09/2020 18:04

@zippityzip 😂😂

My boss knows I'm pregnant but the person who called for this weird meeting is like his bosses boss so they won't know just yet but I reckon any business would be pretty scared of making a pregnant woman redundant for fear of repercussions (she tells herself hopefully) 🤣🤣

I mean worse case scenario I am made redundant I'll get a decent enough pay out and hopefully can get a job quickly even if it's like retail or whatever to keep me going til I give birth and then reevaluate whilst on maternity 👀🙄🙏🏻🤞🏻 fingers crossed it's not that though as it's just not the right time for me stress and anxiety wise and then financially of course. I'd have to give back my car too so I'd have no job and no car 😂😂😂 ffs

Ltay2 · 22/09/2020 18:58

Did anyone have a second midwife appointment before the dating scan? I've just received another appointment letter for 2nd October at a completely different gp site and I'm so confused 🤣 I've already had my booking appointment and gone in to do bloods and urine sample and the midwife then just told me all I need to do next is make the 16 week appointment. My dating scan isn't until 5th October so not sure what this is for!! I'm going to call them tomorrow to check but just wondering if it's normal!

SmileyT · 22/09/2020 19:12

@Bl0ndi3 what do you do? Hoping it's nothing to worry about with the meeting and they want to give you a pay rise 👌🏾 ... try not to stress about it tonight, you and bubs are more important than anything work related. The first thing my psycho manager said to me when I told her I was pregnant was 'well at least you'll be safe from any redundancies we'll make next year' 🙄

@Ltay2 I didn't have a 2nd appt but what I've learnt is that every trust seems to do their own bloody thing so who knows what is 'normal' 🤷🏾‍♀️

@zippityzip wish we could do private groups on MN so we could all talk openly I get the fear when I write certain things that I'll completely out myself 😂

@Sophi123 hope all is well at your scan tomorrow 🥰🥰

Sophi123 · 22/09/2020 19:26

@SmileyT - thank you!! I'm so nervous. Have spent whole day spotting other symptoms e.g. thinking my shoulder hurts or my stomach feels a bit off etc. but think a lot of it is anxiety driven as so petrified they'll find an ectopic pregnancy tomorrow morning. I've already been told they're unlikely to see much, but even if was just told it was in right place that'd be a relief for me at the moment!

Bl0ndi3 · 22/09/2020 19:31

@SmileyT I'm a claims investigator. Something about it feels very ominous so I am not expecting good news at all! We shall see but already looking for jobs just in case I do need to apply for some.

See what 9:30am brings!

Haha wow that's very direct!

@Sophi123 good luck lovely I am sure everything will be okay tomorrow ❤️ what time is your scan?

Sophi123 · 22/09/2020 19:36

@Bl0ndi3 - hope tomorrow AM goes well for you too and you don't have bad news on the job front!

Scan is at 10.15am. Keep weighing up whether to go to A&E but doubt they'd do much other than say come in for scan tomorrow AM anyway?

mrsmummy1111 · 22/09/2020 19:54

Thanks @SmileyT my EDD is now 30th March!!!

Bl0ndi3 · 22/09/2020 19:57

@Sophi123 has you bleeding any everything stopped and tests still strong? X

Ltay2 · 22/09/2020 20:00

@SmileyT It's so weird how they all do differently! I'm going to hopefully change the appointment to the week after when I'm off work as this hospital I need to go to is a good 40 min drive away and then another hour to get back to work afterwards 🙈 love the lists looking so colourful now 💕

@Bl0ndi3 I understand how stressed you must be but could just be nothing much tomorrow with your work meeting! Hope it all goes well!

mrsmummy1111 · 22/09/2020 20:54

Kings have just announced partners allowed at scans, as of tomorrow!! Shame I missed out by 2 days, however, they're also allowed throughout the whole birth! GET INNNN 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼

Cocoblue22 · 22/09/2020 21:41

So having a catch up again from Saturday argghhh...... May take a while!

@SmileyT googled you....love the mcds order! I agree totally acceptable! Pregnancy pillow has really helped I've been sleeping much better the last three nights! X

@Madz123 lovely scan pic of your little baba ❤️ x

@Mococo1 I'm a couch potato too but I'm 16weeks and weigh 1lb less than before I got preg so woohoo to that 🎉 glad you've joined me in the maternity clothes soooo comfy! In terms of size I'd say depends on the brand as they all differ a bit some have more stretch than others especially on the bump area and some ladies get bigger bumps than others and gain weight in different places x

Just posting so I don't lose .....

Cocoblue22 · 22/09/2020 22:07

@Bl0ndi3 flask is a good investment we got tommee tippee one and the lid is perfect size for putting bottles or pouches of baby mush in for feeding that was £10 I think worth every penny when you need to heat milk or food on the go. A normal flask would also be fine but you'd then need something to put the bottle in whereas this already has that bit attached.

Bottle warmers/insulation bags etc are all useless!!

I personally loved our perfect prep machine and In my opinion the time it saved in the middle of the night was worth every penny of the £60 we spent on it but I wouldn't waste more money buying the digital one the original one works just fine!

I also loved my changing table. After a very difficult birth it was literally about 2 months before I could get on the floor to change ds so without that I wouldn't of been able to change him easily but I can also appreciate @zippityzip comment as for some it may not be necessary but I found mine useful. They do relatively cheap ones in places like Ikea if you don't want to spend a lot on one.

A cheap bouncy seat will work just as well as an expensive one!

Ooh I also love our shnuggle bath they are fab and baby doesn't slide down like in a normal baby bath. Also angelcare seat for in the normal bath when they are bigger.

Do not get suckered into buying cot bedding and bumpers...I spent a fortune turns out when baby goes into cot you have to remove all this stuff anyway and a sleeping bag is a much safer option!

High chairs - aldi or Ikea do cheap ones that are great and easy to clean. The expensive padded ones stain so easy and are a pain to clean!

@FairyLights2 glad all went well with your scan 🎉 x

FairyLights2 · 23/09/2020 00:37

@Bl0ndi3 Ah man, that sucks! Crossing my fingers for you - really hope it's not bad news. Good luck for tomorrow morning ❤️

@Sophi123 Good luck for tomorrow! Praying for the best outcome for you.

@mrsmummy1111 that's amazing! Really great news! I really hope by the time we reach February 2021, everything is so much better than it is now.

FairyLights2 · 23/09/2020 00:38

@Cocoblue22 thank you ❤️ xx

zippityzip · 23/09/2020 06:07

@Cocoblue22 With you on the baby sleeping bags. They are an incredible invention I wish I thought of them myself and went to dragons den.
No fear of wiggling under the covers etc.
Cot bedding is only cute and fun when they are old enough to have a duvet and pillow and you won't have a heart attack every time they roll over.
I thought there was new guidance on cot bumpers as well - that they are in fact completely pointless and very dangerous??

zippityzip · 23/09/2020 06:18

I also found maternity leggings in Lidl this week and they are amazing quality and super comfy for like £4.

Good luck today @Bl0ndi3 and @Sophi123 I'll be thinking of you both this morning xxxx

LittleRa · 23/09/2020 06:46

@zippityzip My mum bought me some Lidl maternity leggings too, one grey and one black, they’re really comfy!
