@ChilternsHan I've had cravings for sour sweets too. If you are anywhere near an IKEA they do some amazing watermelon sour gummies. They are so sharp!
Apparently sour and sharp flavours help stop sickness so maybe that has something to do with it. I had read granny Smith apples are good for it too but I can't eat them anymore as they give me tummy ache.

Enjoy07 · 25/09/2020 18:13

@KatyCherry23 apples were amazing for me during the sickness! And now I want some fizzy sweets 😂 xx

MrsAndMrs · 25/09/2020 18:31

@holb54 I absolutely love my ovia app! 😂 I used the ovia fertility one before too. Thanks so much for organising Facebook group!

ElsiesJourney · 25/09/2020 18:49

Thanks @holb54 that sounds perfect! @MrsAndMrs I'm obsessed with the Ovia app too it's been so good

MrsAndMrs · 25/09/2020 18:58

@ElsiesJourney its great is it! I'd forget my vitamins every day if it wasn't for that app! 😂

holb54 · 25/09/2020 19:02

@MrsAndMrs @ElsiesJourney I used it for fertility as well as the Glow app! It's the best pregnancy one I've found so far

@holb54 @MrsAndMrs at the beginning I had about three downloaded! But Ovia is definitely the one that I've stuck with

aureliacecilia · 25/09/2020 19:07

Has anyone bought a maternity coat?

Second pregnancy and I'm definitely showing but with the right clothes it's easy to disguise. Coat is feeling a bit tight over my belly already so planning ahead...

Symphony87 · 25/09/2020 19:14

Ovia is my favourite app too 😁

ChubbyMumFromSkye · 25/09/2020 19:18

Sounds fab @holb54 thank you for setting it up 😊

MrsJ89 · 25/09/2020 19:28

So..I've also booked a scan for the 1st! More for reassurance but excited to know what we're having! Any guesses beforehand?

Thanks for organising the FB group @holb54! Looking forward to our little group!

ChilternsHan · 25/09/2020 21:16

Ooo thanks for the recommendations of sour sweets @holb54 and @KatyCherry23! The ones I've been after are phizzy pigtails from m&s but they'd sold out when I was last in there 😭

TheFoz · 25/09/2020 21:44

Ah @ElsiesJourney I feel your pain!! Are you on two different antibiotics? It’s weird, when I get a uti in pregnancy I’m pretty much completely asymptomatic. When I’m not pregnant I don’t get the usual symptoms, my symptoms are dizziness and exhaustion! Very strange!

chloxhunt · 25/09/2020 22:31

Is anyone else just having one nipple that's dry?

ElsiesJourney · 25/09/2020 23:13

@TheFoz yep!!! I have been super sick but I'm the same in that I haven't had any specific uti symptoms. I have got a cough, which is normal for me with my asthma... and it's normal this time of year for me to get a chest infection (when the weather turns). But today was super stressful as dr wanted me to have a covid test to rule it out.... even though she was confident it wasn't. Which led to lots of stress about the rest of the household etc I felt really guilty but got to the point where I realised it wasn't my fault it's bloody Rona's!!!!

mkk84 · 26/09/2020 03:00

@emmafou1807 @MrsJ89 my symptoms completely stopped when my second trimester started too and my bump has just stopped growing now too. Spoke to my midwife this week for my 16 week check and she said not to worry - it's completely normal!

Clara9 · 26/09/2020 06:34

I feel a bit weird posting this, but how can you meet other expectant mums? I’m the first of my friends to have a baby (within driving/socialising distance) and I would love to have someone to talk about everything with. My friends are all excited, but either trying themselves and don’t want to talk to me about babies or just aren’t really interested.

ChilternsHan · 26/09/2020 07:05

@Clara9 I don't know anyone at all in my local area, so I'm going to pay for NCT starting in Jan to try and meet some other parents, although I think they've gone back to virtual now which isn't quite what I had in mind 😬

I think even if you don't join then NCT (normally) run coffee mornings for mums so worth having a look to see if there's anything in your area. Sometimes you can find local social groups on Facebook too - where I am there's a group called local mums and bumps, and another that's for local mums to get together to go walking. I'm sure they'd have expectant mums joining too!

Clara9 · 26/09/2020 07:08

@ChilternsHan thank you :)

BatKat · 26/09/2020 07:39

After catching up on here I really want some sour fizzies and I haven’t even made it out of bed yet!!! Normally I’m not into sweets in the slightest ha!

BatKat · 26/09/2020 07:44

@MrsJ89 that sounds like a good plan. I like that you’re giving your body/baby time to see if it’s ready but have the c section as a back up later on down the line. No idea if I’ll be offered this but will be asking if it’s an option. From what I can gather, trusts can have completely different views on this.

Sussexbysea · 26/09/2020 07:55

@Clara9 I met one of my best friends through an app called mush. It’s brilliant. I’ll be using is again x

Aurora124 · 26/09/2020 08:06

@MrsJ89 beautiful scan picture, I am really unsure, I would guess girl. Good luck for the 1st!

Clara9 · 26/09/2020 08:31

Thanks @Sussexbysea. Have just signed up and it looks really good! Never even heard of it
