@MrsAndMrs does the snuzpod rock all the time or can you choose for it to be stable?

MrsAndMrs · 24/09/2020 20:00

@Sussexbysea ours came with a bit to attach to the bottom to make it static but I've taken it off for now

aureliacecilia · 24/09/2020 20:01

@Sussexbysea Mine didn't rock. I think you could lift the basket off and move it around the house, and that bit would rock, but I never used it like that. It was static next to my bed.

KatieG200394 · 24/09/2020 20:05

@chloxhunt yes, that's what my midwife said xx

Sussexbysea · 24/09/2020 20:06

@aureliacecilia @MrsAndMrs I don’t want it to rock, I want it to be still all the time.

Think I’ll take a trip to John Lewis and have a look at it before buying it

MrsAndMrs · 24/09/2020 20:17

@Sussexbysea 100% go for a wander in John Lewis and see for yourself. Its never the same just looking online

chloxhunt · 24/09/2020 20:28

@KatieG200394 ahhh maybe that's why I keep getting brown spotting then that makes a lot of sense

Sussexbysea · 24/09/2020 20:36

@MrsAndMrs totally. I went to next today and was drawn to the baby section. I can’t wait to buy some baby clothes. 7 days to go. Did you hear that Mothercare is coming back? The brand is going to be sold in boots 🙌🏻

ChubbyMumFromSkye · 24/09/2020 20:40

We are looking for a snuzpod/next2me as well and then baby will move to a cot when that is outgrown.
Does anyone have any suggestions which are best that can be folded, packed and taken elsewhere similar to a travel cot?

ChilternsHan · 24/09/2020 20:43

I'm also looking at the snuzpod or at least something by the bed.

I can't wait to have a wander in John Lewis to look at the bigger stuff!

MrsJ89 · 24/09/2020 20:49

@SussexbySea our snuzpod is very sturdy and solid. I got the Snuzpod 3 as its bigger than the earlier versions so has plenty of grow room. You can take the top off but its very heavy to move downstairs etc. We'll be getting a moses basket for day time sleeps downstairs

NoGinNotComingIn · 24/09/2020 20:59

@ChubbyMumFromSkye I don’t have a next to me - yet but I watched the demo vids and it looks like it packs down pretty small-ish into a bag. We wanted it for that too if we go and stay anywhere it can come too. I hate using manky hotel cots.

@NoGinNotComingIn perfect, I will look specifically at the next2me. We live in Skye and DH's family live in Kilmarnock so would be much easier if we could fold and take it with us and then when baby is older we'll just have a travel cot at MIL's house.
Definitely agree re hotel ones too 🥴 we'll have our own travel cot for whenever we go places!
If we are ever allowed to go anywhere ever again! 😂😅

MrsAndMrs · 24/09/2020 21:05

@Sussexbysea I didn't know that! Good to know though, there are so few shops to visit these days! Mothercare and Mamas&Papas both shut down within a month of each other up here!

Hi All

Can i please join, expecting my third child due date 24th March 2020. Have been following this post for a long time now but wanted to wait till my scan before posting as had few miscarriages which makes early pregnancy not enjoyable at all. But all looks good at scan im currently 14 weeks 1 day, and all screening result came back good. Scan picture not very clear. Any ideas on gender 2 more weeks before gender scan.

KatieG200394 · 24/09/2020 21:20

@J88DB8 welcome to the group ☺ sorry about your previous pregnancies xx

J88DB8 · 24/09/2020 21:23

Babafarmer · 24/09/2020 22:13

@ChubbyMumFromSkye and @Charlotte2020 take a look at the offer on the picture. It's the best price I can find

@J88DB8 welcome! sorry to hear about your previous losses ❤

@ChubbyMumFromSkye @Babafarmer was only looking up cribs earlier and torn between the next2me and snuzpod! Delighted to see it being talked about

we had a moses basket for both our kids, and will most likely use it again this time as they aren't in it for long so don't see much point spending a fortune! Both were big babies and outgrew the basket by 4 months so had to move them to the cot in their own room, plus I would wake up at every movement when they were in the moses.b so barely slept for 4 months!!! ohhhhh how I'm dreading that bit 😂

Babafarmer · 24/09/2020 22:39

OMG lots of offers on so we've gone slightly crazy, just bought the next to me magic bundle, little green sheep Moses basket, ergo baby omni carrier, wall paper mural for the nursery and a gliding nursing chair that I plan to use from when is arrives due to sciatica and working from home so classing is as an office chair 😂

GreysLove · 25/09/2020 07:17

@ChubbyMumFromSkye I've been looking for one that's easy to transport and found the tutti Bambino cozee crib. It looks fab and you can change one side height for reflux and super easy to fold and carry. I reckon thats what we'll get, and friend has a Moses basket for the living room. Looks like Wayfair have it on offer every now and again for £127 which is a good price for it.

BatKat · 25/09/2020 07:44

For my daughter we chose a next to me over a snuzpod. From memory I think it was slightly bigger and we wanted to be able to use it for as long as possible - I remember being really upset when she got too long for it at around 6 months and had to move into her cot. We had a pram with a good carry cot that we used for downstairs day time naps. We didn’t want to buy a Moses basket as it was something else to take up space and I thought she might grow out of it quickly. To be honest my daughter would want to sleep on me or my husband for daytime naps so anything would have been a waste of money (you can’t beat the newborn cuddles but we did create some bad habits!).

On a separate note, is anyone in a position to consider a VBAC this time round? I had a planned c section with my daughter due to a low lying placenta. The midwife has booked me an appointment with a consultant to talk about the advantages/disadvantages of another planned c section vs vaginal birth. I’m quite open to either option at the moment and so it will be interesting to hear what they advise.

MrsJ89 · 25/09/2020 07:53

@Babafarmer we'd probably just use Isaac if we went for it.

@Batkat I met with my consultant at my 12 week scan and she basically said they think VBAC is better than csection. I told her that I'd like to give it a go but wouldn't want to be induced again as I didn't have a great experience so we've agreed to book in a csection between 40 to 41 weeks to give me time to go into labour naturally. Unless my placenta isn't in the right place it'll be csection at 39 weeks. She did say if I don't progress after 2-3 hours they'd take me in for an emergency csection as they won't allow you to not progress for long after a csection
