@LittleBrownBaby aww really? 😅 haha. I think they are at a good age for helping with baby though...my DS is so excited about the baby and I know he will help me by fetching things etc!
Are you nervous about going back to the newborn stage? I always said I would never have any more after my DS because I found it a lot harder than I expected to, but then I married my DH who doesn't have kids and I said we could have JUST ONE 😆

ElsiesJourney · 24/09/2020 08:55

God the combination of insomnia and crazy wild dreaming is meaning I wake up looking Shock anybody else having really vivid dreams???

LottieDot · 24/09/2020 09:04

Congratulations on the boy @Babafarmer!

I'm convinced we're team boy too, and are really struggling with boy names!

aureliacecilia · 24/09/2020 09:06

I'm equally worried about the newborn phase. The lack of sleep was awful and my mood was so low as a result. DS has only been sleeping through since April (he's recently turned 4...) so I hope this baby gets the hang of the sleep thing a little sooner than its brother! If not, I'm going to be more willing to accept help and tell people how I'm feeling. No one would have known I felt as bad as I did as the house was immaculate, he was immaculate, we went out as much as we could, etc. I definitely felt under pressure for everything to be perfect when I should really have just stayed in bed a bit more and worried about cleaning and tidying less.

Also convinced this baby is a boy and struggling with names. Still drawn towards fairly outlandish names I probably won't use... DS has a name which is currently top 20 but was more like top 50 when he was born so I think we should choose something that matches and not something like Augustine or Bartholomew (which DH doesn't like those anyway). Currently contemplating Alfred, Austin, Toby and Henry but not sure any of them are quite right.

Rosehips89 · 24/09/2020 09:08

@ElsiesJourney I always have really vivid dreams but last night I dreamed I was flirting with Henry cavill all night. It was wonderful 😛😴

Babafarmer · 24/09/2020 09:18

@ElsiesJourney I have very weird dreams at the moment and some of them not very nice. However I didn't have any last night because I didn't really sleep.

Thank you @LottieDot

@aureliacecilia the only name we really like is Isaac but it is so popular. But the reason we like it is because is DH grandfathers name and farmers tend to like to use family names. DH dads middle name is William and DH middle name James.
So it may be Isaac William
Or Isaac James.
I like shortening names so if we go with it he'll be Ikie/Ikey to me. Xx

chloxhunt · 24/09/2020 09:18

@Babafarmer congrats on your boy! Thinking mines a boy too! Finding out at 16 weeks

Babafarmer · 24/09/2020 09:21

@chloxhunt thank you. We were both convinced it was a girl. We were very shocked. Xx

ChilternsHan · 24/09/2020 09:22

@Rosehips89 that's a great dream! Mine are vivid but nowhere near as fun...I dreamt I took Alison Hammond's (from This Morning) children to the park for the day and every swing they sat on broke and she arrived and gave me a real telling off. So weird 😂

aureliacecilia · 24/09/2020 09:26

@Babafarmer Isaac is a great name. It's my nephew's name, in fact. I think he's the only one in his class. The only thing is people tend to spell it Issac as they remember there's a double letter somewhere but forget which one. It's quite baffling how often people get it wrong! This is helpful at putting popular names in context: names.darkgreener.com/#Isaac Less than 0.4% of babies were called Isaac last year. It's still less than 1% if you pick the most popular name (Oliver). If you like it, go with it!

My DH's great grandmother was called Isabella (Bella) and I have been wondering about whether to use that if we have a girl as it's so pretty. I think it's possibly a bit flowery for us but it would be a nice middle name. I think Alfred is a family name on his side too but Alfie is so ubiquitous that I'm not sure it's the best idea. Still lots of time to think...

Sussexbysea · 24/09/2020 09:28

Today I’ve got a day off work and heading for a massage. I can’t wait. My bump makes my back and legs ache so much.

KatyCherry23 · 24/09/2020 09:30

@ChubbyMumFromSkye I've got a 6 year age gap between my little boy and this baby. I can remember the birth and I absolutely hated it although mine was completely uncomplicated, straight forward, no pain relief and 5 hours from start to finish so I feel bad for complaining. I think it will be better this time round because I didn't feel supported last time, my ex just wanted the baby not me, but I trust my bf 100%. It's his first too and he is super squimish, I think he will pass out and will definitely want to stay up near my head. He joked he would rather be out the room but I told him I'd find him and I'd sit and poop on him if he leaves me 😂

@ElsiesJourney I get vivid dreams normally but they have been extra insane lately. I've been waking up randomly in the night too which is super annoying because I'm already exhausted!

Calgoose · 24/09/2020 09:34

@aureliacecilia the newborn stage is so hard - especially first time round. I still hadn’t learnt by my second that I really must take some time to rest where I can and it was a horrible downward spiral. I’m determined it will be different this time! I think the one thing we still don’t appreciate is how much labour actually takes it out of us. Years ago mums would have been on a postnatal ward for a week just resting. I’m definitely guilty of wanting to be home and “normal” - but this time I’m going to make sure I give myself time to just recover from actual birth too by letting other people come and take the load if they want.

Aurora124 · 24/09/2020 09:41

@ElsiesJourney i just came on here to ask the same question! My dreams are insane i have no idea what's going on in my mind.

aureliacecilia · 24/09/2020 09:42

I had a caesarean with DS and a bit of a prolonged hospital stay (a week) as he had a few issues at birth. I don't think I slept for that first week! I'm hoping to avoid a repeat of that this time @Calgoose! Let's hope it's better for both of us this time!

ChubbyMumFromSkye · 24/09/2020 09:47

@KatyCherry23 there's a few of us then who feel like we weren't supported the first time around so hopefully this time will be much better for us all. Lol it will be interesting to see whose partners (if any!) faint or don't cope well with the labour 😂

@ElsiesJourney I am also having crazy dreams as well as one which is almost the same every night i.e working in a job I did in 2010 - 2014 and general things I would have done/things that would have happened. It's so weird.

@Sussexbysea that sounds amazing I love getting a massage and someone nearby is setting up a treatment room at the moment and will then be doing pregnancy massages (along with other types of course) I am so excited!

@aureliacecilia it's good that you are planning to be more open if you are not feeling great, I will be the same - I feel like we think we should be loving every second but it is a huge shock to the system having a baby and then looking after a brand new human 24/7 and we don't realise it's ok not to feel amazing and happy all time time until much further down the line. But at least we know this time around it's ok not to be ok!

Loving hearing others' dreams and also names! We are not finding out the sex of our baby so having to have a list of each but we can't find one we love of either yet... 😐😅

TravelGem · 24/09/2020 10:11

Finally had my 12 week scan.... at 13+3 😊
Well I'm actually half way through.. after being inverted on the couch, doing 30 star jumps and running on the spot for 3 minutes I've been sent back to the waiting room for 45 minutes to drink and try not to wet myself whilst she scans her next lady.

Just so happy to see the heart beat and all the limbs, I've been so worried since my little fall and opting not to have any private scans!!

I feel like I can finally join in the conversations on here properly Smile

ChubbyMumFromSkye · 24/09/2020 10:34

@TravelGem so glad all is looking well, a lot of the babies in this thread were misbehaving at scans 🤪

plwcm · 24/09/2020 10:39

Hello, new to this thread too, had my gender and wellbeing scan this week and we are having a baby girl 🥰.

Here is my 12 week scan for anyone that wants to compare with their scans.

MrsAndMrs · 24/09/2020 10:41

@plwcm congrats on your little lady! 💗

ChubbyMumFromSkye · 24/09/2020 10:57

@plwcm welcome and congratulations! There aren't many girl babies on this thread yet! 💓

Babafarmer · 24/09/2020 10:59

Welcome @plwcm yay some pink. Congratulations xx

MrsJ89 · 24/09/2020 11:29

@Travelgem Congratulations! Its amazing seeing them wriggling around. Hope they got you back in quickly.

@plwcm Welcome and Congratulations with your little girl 💝

@babfarmer we've not really looked at names yet until we know what we're having but Isaac is the top name for a boy for us too!

Sussexbysea · 24/09/2020 11:37

@ChubbyMumFromSkye the place I go to has a pregnancy pillow where your boobs and bump mould into the pillow. Feels weird at first but it was epic.

I recommend getting one ladies. I totally forgot how much pressure your legs take whilst being pregnant. My legs feel like they’re someone else’s 😂
