Congratulations!! Who else is having a girl?? 🤣🤣

ChilternsHan · 23/09/2020 19:32

So many little boys, how exciting! Congratulations all 💙

We aren't planning to find out at the moment, but my gut instinct based on basically nothing is that it's a boy Grin

holb54 · 23/09/2020 19:37

@CazWte there's definitely two off the top of my head but that's including you! 😂 I'll be finding out hopefully in a month but I'm really guessing team blue for me too 💫

Hi everyone,

Whoa that took some time to catch up on!

Loving the scans and all you guys finding out if your baba is a boy or girl ❤️

@Usplusone good luck for the rest of the tests, hoping everything is ok for you 💐

Was it @DSP21 that said about waking in the night to pee? This has just started for me a couple of nights ago, I am 15+4 and wasn't expecting it to happen until a bit later! No such luck!! 😂

Also, re: the Pregnacare Max - mine arrived today (20% off on Boots online with code VITS20). They are bloody huge!! 🥴 was not the most pleasant experience taking them today!

Looking forward to moving to a Facebook group and I know this was mentioned ages ago but I would also prefer a smaller group of the ladies on this thread rather than a larger one with hundreds of people.

My DS will be 8 when this baby arrives, I am terrified that;
a) when I think of his labour it wasn't TOO bad
b) that the aftermath was horrendous (episiotomy) and
c) that I may not even be remembering any of these things correctly?! 🤦🏻‍♀️😅

@MrsAndMrs you said your eldest is 12, are you having the same sort of thoughts?!

Does anyone else have big age gaps between DC?

MrsAndMrs · 23/09/2020 20:02

@ChubbyMumFromSkye yeah my boy is 12. What do you mean the same thoughts? I feel like i was super chill when I had him but I'm a nervous wreck this time around!

CazWte · 23/09/2020 20:11

@holb54 hahah naaaa you'll be team pink like me!! 😉

ChubbyMumFromSkye · 23/09/2020 20:12

@MrsAndMrs I mean being terrified of the whole labour and afterwards because it was so long ago 😊
I was the same last time and looked forward to the labour - I don't remember it being horrendous but now I'm worrying it was worse than I remember 😂

MrsAndMrs · 23/09/2020 20:38

@ChubbyMumFromSkye oh haha i don't think I've ever looked forward to labour but its never bothered me, 9 months is your lot and then its eviction time! 😂 I had a long labour first time and I had some pretty crap adverse affects afterwards. I've discussed everything with my doctor this time around and I'm feeling more prepared for labour this time. Its been a long time since we've had a newborn in the house but difference is that I'm in a much happier relationship now and I'm well supported so I'm not worried in that respect.
Is there a big gap with yours?

MrsAndMrs · 23/09/2020 20:40

@ChubbyMumFromSkye sorry! Didn't read the 8 years part of your last message! 🙈😂 I've not napped today.....its clearly showing! 😂

ChubbyMumFromSkye · 23/09/2020 20:48

Lol @MrsAndMrs that's ok, I should have tagged you in that bit!

I was looking at my notes yesterday as I had no clue how long my labour was (I had diamorphine, it was fab!) and it was less than 6 hours in total - I was induced at 41+3 and remember the drip being hell, I was thinking about whether I can refuse that this time as last time it made DS heart rate go funny.
I have my 16 week phone call with the midwife on Monday morning so I'll be asking her then if I have to have the drip if I'm induced again.

Sorry I am also tired and babbling now! Just feeling nervous that it is going to be worse than I remember 🤪😅

MrsAndMrs · 23/09/2020 21:07

@ChubbyMumFromSkye I'm being induced at 39 weeks this time around and I went naturally last time so I'm a little nervous about what thats like. My mum said, "oh they'll just break your waters, thats what they did for me!"....yeah over 30 years ago mum, chances are things might have changed since then! 😂
I'm already gonna be on antibiotics for group B strep so I'd prefer not to have anymore tubes if I can avoid it! 😂

Babafarmer · 23/09/2020 21:10

Thank you ladies. I feel ok @Sussexbysea we were convinced it was going to be a girl and even picked a name. We are happy that it's a boy but we literally cannot find a band we like. But the main thing was baba farmer is absolutely fine. We couldn't get a good scan picture be he was lying on his side, well we could go his 🏀 🏀

Calgoose · 23/09/2020 21:14

@ChubbyMumFromSkye I have a 14 and 12 year old and I am definitely convincing myself that labour wasn’t that bad Grin

However I am also seem to remember the newborn stage is actual hell on earth so maybe I’ve actually overegged that in my mind too. Swings and roundabouts! I do feel a lot more prepared mentally 12 years later!

ChubbyMumFromSkye · 23/09/2020 21:18

@MrsAndMrs ah ok, well when I was in the ward they used a pessary (twice perhaps?) before taking me to the labour suite to break my waters and they also started the drip, it makes contractions come THICK AND FAST but baby wasn't liking it so they stopped the drip.
I am defo asking if I can choose not to have that but they are always monitoring baby so don't worry because if you do have it and baby doesn't like it they will know straight away. I will let you know what midwife says about that on Monday.
There will be threads on here about the drip during induction too that you could have a look for to get a better idea of it?
I also meant to say from your other post - so glad you are in a happier relationship and better place for this baby coming, that will make a huge difference, I am too 😊
Oh I had a cannula in for the first labour (for the drip I guess) but I am SO squeamish about blood tests and cannulas (ok with injections!) that I had to ask the midwife to bandage my hand up thickly so I couldn't see/feel it. She was like "erm, 🤨 you know you are in labour right?! Things are probably going to be worse than a cannula!" 😆

ChubbyMumFromSkye · 23/09/2020 21:21

@Calgoose I feel exactly the same about newborn stage 😧 I feel like I did not cope well at all, was so lucky to have lots of support around. Totally agree about being more mentally ready this time, I'm in a great stable relationship with a fab DH. Last time I was on my own (with help from baby's dad) but no loving, emotional support from him because we weren't together which I think I really needed. I felt lonely.

MrsAndMrs · 23/09/2020 21:37

@ChubbyMumFromSkye I think I'm gonna try to go naturally before my induction date! #challengeaccepted 😂

Aw I'm glad you are too. Makes such a difference, I'd have been as well had my first on my own for all the help I got. Its so different this time.

Hahahaha oh no!! I'm not squeamish at all but my wife is so shes been well warned to remain at pillow end! 😂

ChubbyMumFromSkye · 23/09/2020 21:42

@MrsAndMrs well hopefully, I think "they" do say that second babies generally come earlier. Fingers crossed! 🤞🏻
Haha oh dear, my husband is exactly the same - we were watching One Born Every Minute (old episodes) and one of the partners fainted and fell and we both said that would be him at the same time 🤣😅
Hopefully your wife and my husband will both stay conscious the whole time!!

MrsAndMrs · 23/09/2020 21:48

@ChubbyMumFromSkye oh if theres an episode of one born every minute, you better believe we have seen it! 😂🙈
My wife was dying to cut the cord but watching them trying to get through it has given her the fear 😂

ChubbyMumFromSkye · 23/09/2020 22:24

@MrsAndMrs pretty sure I have seen them all too, I love watching it - this will be my DH's first baby so I wanted to see how he reacted to it - he was very interested which was good but defo squeamish about the blood and stuff - I think he'd like to cut the cord but wouldn't manage 🤣

Phie04 · 23/09/2020 22:38

Wow congrats on the gender scans!!! I'm getting very impatient for mine

Leanne121188 · 23/09/2020 23:35

Hi everyone I’m new to this lol. I hope everyone is okay. I’m wondering if anyone is good at guessing from scans whether it’s a boy or a girl lol? Xx

holb54 · 24/09/2020 00:22

@Leanne121188 welcome 🤗 put your picture up and I'm sure you'll have plenty of guesses!

How do I add a picture? I can’t seem to work it out? Xx

LittleBrownBaby · 24/09/2020 07:08

@ChubbyMumFromSkye I also have big age gaps - DD 7 and 9 and DSS 8 and 10.

Even my daughter said I was mad for going back to nappies!
