@Dreamcatcher007 I still lie on my back when I'm watching something on my laptop but I'll sleep on my side

ElsiesJourney · 17/09/2020 09:19

@MrsAndMrs I'm normally a tummy sleeper too. Been trying so hard to sleep on my sides but
I wake up with pins and needles in my hands.... weird but I think it maybe related to an old sports related neck injury.

Got my consultant appointment this morning due to being high risk. I know it will be fine but I feel a bit nervous.....

chloxhunt · 17/09/2020 09:23

@ElsiesJourney you say that but I kept getting pins and needles when I slept on my right when i became pregnant I've always slept on my right side and it was my left hand that went numb
I'm sure everything will go okay today!

MrsAndMrs · 17/09/2020 09:25

@ElsiesJourney I'm high risk too and had my consultant appointment last week. She was so so lovely, talked through all my worries and explained how they handle everything. Completely calmed me so hopefully you come away feeling a bit of relief that you're in good hands x

Phie04 · 17/09/2020 09:34

@DSP21 I suggest sports bras. I bought some from primark in a bigger size and they are so comfortable! I wouldn't say they do much supporting but they are comfortable if you have sensitive nipples. I found wearing bras even when they fit very uncomfortable. When I was taking them off it was hurting me as my boobs fell back down lol! So they have supported my pain and comfort

ElsiesJourney · 17/09/2020 09:35

Thanks @chloxhunt and @MrsAndMrs
I know it will be fine :) just flutters of anxiety.

That's interesting about your pins and needles @chloxhunt. I'll mention it later.

Phie04 · 17/09/2020 09:40

@Sussexbysea I also thought it was the left side? At my booking in appointment my midwife told me to try and get used to sleeping on my left before I get a bump. I never sleep on my back so I'm ok in that department but I lie on my back when watching tv etc. I'm a figit also in bed and I toss and turn between sleeping on my left and right so not sure how well it will all go for me.

aureliacecilia · 17/09/2020 09:41

@MrsAndMrs That's lovely to read. I'm low risk other than my previous premature birth, which is why I've been referred to the consultant. I've got a telephone appointment at the start of next month and I'm really hoping it reassures me too. I could do with some reassurance as I am so worried about it. Good luck with yours as well, @ElsiesJourney.

LandMammal · 17/09/2020 09:44

heeeey welcome @Sunflower1492 ! we have the same due date 👍🏽😁
The anxiety is horrendous isn't it, but hopefully you feel like you can relax and enjoy the rest of the pregnancy?

Ohhh numb hands! I slept in the spare room half of last night as my OH just kept snoring loudly and waking me up, and I had nimb hands in that bed from side-sleeping. Something to do with the mattress as it's firmer whereas we have a foam topped mattress on our bed and never have nimb hands from side-sleeping there 🤪
The V or U shaped massive pillows are great for bump supporting later on, not so great if you toss and turn all night though!

holb54 · 17/09/2020 10:13

@Mercuryfreddie my nausea settled around 11 weeks to come back 13 weeks and I still have it now at 14 weeks 3 days 🥴

@DSP21 I started a few weeks back! It's hard because I only sleep in two positions, flat on my back and on my stomach 😂 I'd read early on the right side is the best so I've been trying to but half the time I don't wake up on the right side so going to get a maternity pillow soon!

@Phie04 @chloxhunt always been told it’s the right side as your heart can pump easier. Otherwise you’re laying on your heart. Advice may have changed though 🤷🏻‍♀️

Simz01 · 17/09/2020 11:09

Do you mind if I join pls.. am also due in March 2021. Currently 15 weeks with twins x

chloxhunt · 17/09/2020 11:11

@Sussexbysea Sleeping on your left side is often referred to as the “ideal” scenario during pregnancy. Positioning yourself on the left side of your body allows for optimal blood flow from the inferior vena cava (IVC), which is a large vein that runs parallel to your spine on the right side that's what I heard anyways also copied and pasted it lmao

holb54 · 17/09/2020 11:14

Welcome @Simz01! Congratulations on your twins 💕

@chloxhunt like I say, advice may have changed

Sussexbysea · 17/09/2020 11:23

Hey @Simz01 nice to see you here lovely x

chloxhunt · 17/09/2020 11:24

@Sussexbysea I mean id be happier if it was on the right as i can't sleep on my left anyway 😂

MrsAndMrs · 17/09/2020 11:25

@Simz01 welcome and congrats on your twins! 🧡🧡

Simz01 · 17/09/2020 11:28

Hi everyone I am due 21st February, we are having a little girl :)

TH22 · 17/09/2020 11:54

Hi all!

Have any Facebook groups been set up? I am due March 24th Daffodil

ValidUser · 17/09/2020 12:03

Welcome @Scottishgirl89 and @Simz01!

First antenatal clinic visit tomorrow. This will be my fifth scan. 😂

MrsAndMrs · 17/09/2020 12:59

Has anyone else experienced burping constantly? I find I'm getting pressure at the top of my abdomen and I'm very burpy, it then brings on heartburn. Its driving me a little mad, and just as well I'm hardly seeing anyone right now! 🙈😂

Thack · 17/09/2020 13:15

Finally told my parents last night. My dad noticed that his card said "happy birthday grandad" right away, my mum just noticed when she read that hers was from me, DH, Ddog and "+1". They're thrilled and it's a relief to start telling others. DH was telling MIL this morning.

DPs did notice that I'd gained weight at the belly. I'm dressing more carefully for work but I'll think I need to have the convo next week- get the anxiety/dread out of the way too.
