@Taylortyler you can work as late as you want (unless your workplace is high risk and has its own policies against that). I am have a planned c section and plan to work until a few days before (much easier now I'm wfh). With my first I stopped work at 8 months and was bored for a whole month! With my second I worked until a week before my due date. Good luck x

LittleBrownBaby · 16/09/2020 15:25

@Babafarmer we are also thinking Chatlotte shortened to Lottie and maybe Alfie for a boy Smile

Sussexbysea · 16/09/2020 15:27

@c24680 I think my last day will change before finalising it with work. Like you said, a section date might be given.

I’ll be off till April 2022, it’ll be lovely to have time with baby as my daughter will start school in September 2021

Sussexbysea · 16/09/2020 15:29

@Mrs1989 Holly Willoughby brought a book out in 2016 which was a good read.

I’ll have a dig around in my loft to read it again. Refresh the memory x

LottieDot · 16/09/2020 15:30

Sorry I've been quiet a few days. We got the news that whilst low risk for the 3 conditions they screen for, I have something called low PAPP-A. Basically it increases the risk of low birth weight, early labour, preclampsia, high blood pressure etc. Its been a shock but the Drs don't seem too worried, I just have to have extra appts with a consultant and growth scans later in pregnancy.

Mrs1989 · 16/09/2020 15:43

Thanks @Sussexbysea and glad to see you back Smile I just went back on the thread realising I must have missed something and saw your message about your NIPT results. Great news!

@LottieDot that must have been a shock and worrying for you but it sounds like the professionals are on it and you will be looked after xxx

Sussexbysea · 16/09/2020 15:43

@LottieDot sorry to hear that but on the positive you’ll be well looked after by the doctors at hospital.

DSP21 · 16/09/2020 15:46

@Mrs1989 I got the Mayo Cliinic guide to a healthy pregnancy, How to grow a baby abd push it out, The Freelance Mum (for those with businesses or looking to start one) I'm a bit of a book lover so I immediately started indulging

LottieDot · 16/09/2020 15:48

Thanks @Mrs1989 and @Sussexbysea, its been a stressful few days but I'm starting to relax about it now. I'm pleased they picked it up and as the MW said on the phone, if we hadn't opted in to the screening tests we would never have known! I'm sure we'll be well looked after x

@sussexbysea - glad you got good news :)

Mrs1989 · 16/09/2020 15:53

Thanks for the recommendations @DSP21 Smile I love books too but finding myself very indecisive when it comes to pregnancy books!

aureliacecilia · 16/09/2020 16:04

@Mrs1989 www.pinterandmartin.com/lets-talk-about-the-first-year-of-parenting I mentioned before that I really rate Prof Amy Brown's work. This is a new book but she's shared snippets on her Facebook page and it looks good. I'm going to buy it now I've had my scan.

Mrs1989 · 16/09/2020 16:10

Thanks @aureliacecilia Smile

LottieX · 16/09/2020 16:43

@LottieDot My SIL had this with both her pregnancies and both times gave birth to healthy boys (about 7lbs). Just think you'll get extra scans so you get to have a peek at baby more often which will be a bonus!

LottieDot · 16/09/2020 16:50

@LottieX thank you!! Thats so reassuring that they were average weight too! I'm trying to focus on the positives too, like the extra looks at baby and closer monitoring :)

KatieG200394 · 16/09/2020 17:28

@ValidUser @holb54 thank you, may actually be able to convince OH on spelling it Conor now 😁 lol
@aureliacecilia I told my boss when I was 6 weeks because of a car accident at work, colleague's fault, was so scary but everything was okay and I told the rest of my work the day of my 12 week scan ☺

@Sussexbysea I'm actually hoping to go on mat leave as early as possible because I have a very long commute and it kills my back driving there and back everyday plus the sitting at the desk long hours full time so I think I'll need a break just to prepare for baby as I think I'll really struggle getting to work by the time I'm 6 months pregnant as I'll be a lot bigger then so I'm hoping to go on mat leave by mid December ☺

Rosehips89 · 16/09/2020 17:48

Just nearly fainted on work. Dizziness for the last 40mins like I'm drunk. Is that normal?

Oldermum80 · 16/09/2020 17:59

Glad to see all the scans!
I’ve been thinking of you @DSP21 but didn’t want to tag you as I assumed you were having a break.

Roll on Friday! Struggling to hide my pot belly and constantly on the loo at work so sooner i can say, the better! People who know my past history have starting to glance at my tummy so think they have realised 🤣

DSP21 · 16/09/2020 18:03

@Oldermum80 Thank you! I did need a little break but absolutely looved seeing all the scans, it really kept me positive after a few sad stories (and the many, many, sad ones I read online)

I'm just in a state of relief that my body is able to do what it's doing. I'm definitely getting stares at the pot belly but also not in a rush to tell people, although in-laws keep asking 'can we tell people yet? Can we tell people yet?' Ugh.

Phie04 · 16/09/2020 18:09

@Rosehips89 yes! I went so dizzy last week like I had been on the waltzers with a hangover. Ran to the bathroom to be sick and nearly never made it!

chloxhunt · 16/09/2020 18:10

@Rosehips89 I had that the other day actually as i laid down i was like Na

Sussexbysea · 16/09/2020 18:33

@KatieG200394 I like your thinking. I did think about leaving at Christmas and using all my holiday till baby is here but I work from home (at the moment) and might as well carry on.

I feel for you with a long commute. I remember when I was pregnant with my daughter and I had to go to London 3 times a week and once my manager (who was a ignorant man) told me to run across London Bridge when I was 34 weeks pregnant. Run, I told him where he could shove London Bridge hahaha

TheFoz · 16/09/2020 18:41

I’m in such bad form with this tonsillitis. My throat had gotten worse over the last few days. I’m in with the GP in the morning so we’ll see what he has to say. I just want to go to bed but I have to stay up until 10pm.

KatieG200394 · 16/09/2020 19:06

@Sussexbysea thanks, yeah, I wish I worked from home, maybe one day though and that's unbelievable! I'm glad you told him where to stick it lol 😂

BatKat · 16/09/2020 19:08

@LottieDot just to let you know I had this when I was pregnant with my daughter. It didn’t cause me any issues at all - she was a week early (planned c section due to a low lying placenta) and a healthy birth weight. Fingers crossed it will all be fine for you too

MrsAndMrs · 16/09/2020 19:39

@Rosehips89 yes completely normal, I had a few bad dizzy spells not long ago and called my doctor. He told me that it is very common around this time of pregnancy to get headaches and dizzy spells but just to make sure you drink plenty water and get lots of rest
