@LuHen I had to book my 16 week appointment after my scan, they didn't call me to arrange it. There's a sticker on the front of my folder reminding people to do so.

@HollieL567 how did you get on overnight?

@Dreamcatcher007 congratulations on your little boy Smile

TheFoz · 12/09/2020 09:03

My clothes are starting to get uncomfortable so I’ve ordered a couple of things from Seraphine. Not cheap but I don’t mind if the quality and fit is good and they last. I’m going to order some more from ASOS I think. I’ve read people saying they love the Love leggings but the reviews aren’t great so I’m put off by them.

I got very dizzy yesterday evening and it still hasn’t improved. I’m not sure how long to let it go before I call out of hours doctor. I’m seeing my consultant on Monday morning so I’m hoping it’ll settle over the weekend.

MrsAndMrs · 12/09/2020 09:30

@TheFoz I have 2 pairs of maternity leggings from love leggings and I absolutely love them, since I popped out and my jeans don't fit, they're all I wear 😂

@Dreamcatcher007 congratulations on your little man! 💙 you must be delighted!

BatKat · 12/09/2020 09:30

I am 12 weeks today and still suffering pretty badly with nausea and exhaustion. I always had 12 weeks in my head as a target for when things would start to get a bit easier so I’m feeling a bit grumpy this morning. I’m an end of March due date and so lots of you are a bit further ahead...I was just wondering if any of you have started to feel more human again recently?! I could do with a bit of hope!! Have good weekends everyone 😊

SnickerdoodleSnek · 12/09/2020 09:31

@LottieDot I felt so daft when baby wouldn't turn around! The sonographer had to get me to shake from side to side to encourage baby to turn but no luck 😂 thankfully she got a good scan at the beginning and we got some lovely photos, two of which have gone to respective parents.

chloxhunt · 12/09/2020 09:33

@BatKat I feel like as I'm getting closer to 13 weeks I'm starting to feel worse 😂

chloxhunt · 12/09/2020 09:38

Any guess on the sex? My mums still convinced it a girl (all female in my family have had more girls but my boyfriends side is all boys but my uncle had 2 boys then a girl)

Wow I had 28 pages to catch up on, as a result I can’t remember who to Tag for what!
So congratulations on all the positive scans, fingers crossed for all who are worrying and I hope those (like me) who are still sick get some relief soon.

I’m still very sick, prob 2/3 times a day and nauseous 24/7, taking cyclizine and ondanstron which has made the vomiting better but not the nausea. It’s so draining feeling rough all the time!

Also feeling very stretched around my (still massive) bump! (2nd baby so been showing from 9 weeks). Using neals Yard mothers balm every day but I just feel really uncomfortable already 🙈.

LuHen · 12/09/2020 09:42

Thanks @ChilternsHan - Ill try again Monday Smile

Fab seeing these beautiful scan pics, I hope the worries ease up a smidge for everyone. I'm feeling more relaxed now which is so nice, obviously still your usual worries some days! Xx

Dreamcatcher007 · 12/09/2020 09:43

Thank you ladies!

@BatKat I never felt nausea but felt really tired and started to feel a bit more human after 10 weeks and definitely was feeling better gradually after 12-13 weeks as I think by then placenta takes over. Hang in there, the first trimester is a killer I think!

@TheFoz Yep I’m officially in maternity leggings now, at least at home if not when out and about. Not sure of the brand though...

@Calgoose We had the early diagnostic scan as part of Harmony NIPT, and we chose to find out that gender as part of that. Yes was very clear that it’s a boy on the scan 😊 We’ll then get further confirmation from the blood test which is 100% accurate after 10 weeks I think. The clinic said that you can find out the gender on scans after 13 weeks, but maybe that’s because the scans there are done by a consultant rather than a sonographer so perhaps accuracy is better.

@MrsAndMrs To be honest I’m a bit disappointed that it’s not a girl... I know it’s odd to feel that way when the baby seems to be doing well and healthy but I even cried a bit last night - ridiculous I know!! I don’t think I even realised how much I was hoping for a girl until I I knew. We have an absolutely amazing boy already and I’m sure it’ll be great for him to have a pal, but I think I just had a different image of our family in my head that I’ll have to adjust to.

MrsAndMrs · 12/09/2020 09:54

@Dreamcatcher007 don't feel bad for feeling like that, sometimes you are so sure of something that it takes a minute to catch up. I have a boy already and I've got a feeling its a girl this time, so much so that I think I might feel a bit like yourself if it turns out otherwise! Not because I'm unhappy, boys are great and we love this baby so much already but just a readjustment. Totally get you!!!

chloxhunt · 12/09/2020 10:00

@Dreamcatcher007 don't worry I want a girl too but I have no idea what it could be I don't even have an inkling my mums and family thinks girls though as all girls in our family have had girls but My boyfriends family have had boys lol so it could literally go either way

HollieL567 · 12/09/2020 10:14

@LottieDot - Oh did you? What colour was yours If you don't mind me asking?

@LuHen - Thankyou for the reassurance 💕 hoping and praying its just my cervix irritated & nothing more than that. Such a worry

@ChilternsHan - Thankyou for asking 💞 ...I wore a pad overnight & there was nothing on it this morning...& So far nothing when I wipe...TMI but when gently pushed a little tissue there was still remnants of the brown discharge/blood type...hoping it goes completely and that all is okay, can't deal with getting this far and bad news again. Xx

Thack · 12/09/2020 10:44

@TheFoz have you had any dizziness or low blood pressure before? Make sure you drink plenty of fluids and stand up slowly. My BP is naturally low and drops when I've not had enough sleep.

1st scan for me this week, I decided not to go private. Starting to feel excited /nervous.

I don't want to know the gender but I think hubby does. Would it be wrong if I asked him not to know too? He's quite laid back but I like that he is engaged. I just know that he'll let it slip or might tell family (and I'd be the only person surprised!)

holb54 · 12/09/2020 10:53

@Thack good luck with your scan this morning 💓 I don't think that's wrong, I'd say a lot of couples have that issue of one wants to know, the other doesn't, etc. but I think the final decision has to be made by you!

I’m not keeping us as much now with being back at work full time and teaching means work at home too so I don’t get chance to come on and post as much.
Lovely to see all the good news and scans!
Hope those who have worries get some reassurance soon.

Is anyone else experiencing bad pain low down? Only symptoms I have is retching still. My tummy was flat this morning too! I’m a stress head and my Friday can’t come quick enough so that I know all is still ok! I’ll be 13 weeks or 13+3 based on my last measurements!

Oldermum80 · 12/09/2020 11:00

@Thack I’m in the same boat. Partner’s first child and wants to know. My third and I always liked the surprise. I think my partner will tell his mam/sister if they also want to know and someone will accidentally slip up so I’ll end up knowing anyway. Thinking it might be easier to find out myself than have it spoiled and be upset.

Thack · 12/09/2020 11:08

@holb54 thank you, scan is actually on Wed. I've booked it off work so I can chill after (it's an early one and I need to use my hols)

I'll speak to hubby nearer the time I think. Maybe we'll get a sealed envelope and I'll ask him not to look until a few weeks before, 20 weeks seems like a long time (I'm sure it'll fly!).

ValidUser · 12/09/2020 11:16

@Dreamcatcher007 it's totally okay to feel what you feel. My whole life I pictured myself with girls, but the moment the IVF worked, I started to think of this one as my little boy, for no discernible reason.

Then, I found out he is a boy, and it's almost a relief? A girl would be totally great too, but it'd be an adjustment to stop thinking of him as my baby boy.

I always thought I'd be thinking the other way, and of course a healthy baby is the most important thing, but it is an adjustment when things aren't as we expect.

ValidUser · 12/09/2020 11:17

@chloxhunt looks like a boy to me, I think. But I'm no good at this. 😂

Phie04 · 12/09/2020 11:18

@chloxhunt looks like a boy to me but these theories probably don't work!

When are you ladies going to start buying stuff? Only being 13 weeks I feel its too early but christmas is right around the corner and feel buying a few things each month instead of all at once will be a lot more manageable. I've found a lovely moses basket in the sale which I want want want! I was considering ordering it but what do you think? Too early? Will I jinx it?

ValidUser · 12/09/2020 11:23

@Phie04 we've started. Mainly because I'm eye-wateringly disorganised as a person and don't want to be stuck doing it all when I'm also waddling everywhere. And I don't want poor little baby to have nothing to sleep in because I left it too late. Overcompensating? Me? Never!

Phie04 · 12/09/2020 11:26

@ValidUser ah glad its not just me. Im disorganised if I leave things until last minute. But I want to he organised for this and makesure we have everything we need so I'm going to order it, f*ck it 😂😁

LuHen · 12/09/2020 11:44

@Phie04 @ValidUser we have too! Bought cloth nappies, tutti bambino next to me crib because it was on sale £100 vs £185! Then I got a moses basket for free off marketplace, second hand travel system minus car seat and first baby grow. Helps for us to spread the cost and my boyfriend keeps saying be kind to yourself and let the excitement come Smile March isn't actually miles away pay check wise, after accounting for Xmas spending Shock xx

holb54 · 12/09/2020 11:48

@Phie04 only thing I got was a few things as a treat after the 12 week scan, a cute outfit set, little hat with ears and mittens, a small book, a teddy and two blankets! Nothing very practical but was just a treat because it's the first time we felt safe enough to do it 💞 hopefully 20 week scan is good and after that I'll start with the big items, hoping the January sales are good (or that they exist at all 😂)
