Congratulations everyone 👣

chloxhunt · 11/09/2020 15:02

@LottieDot aww congratulations!!

Enjoy07 · 11/09/2020 15:12

@holb54 glad it’s not just me! Just read your earlier post- my urine test at my 12 week scan picked up a uti. I had no symptoms though- just had to have a week of antibiotics xx

SherHar123 · 11/09/2020 15:49

Hi All, I'm new to the thread. Due 15th March!😊 Child number 3. Congratulations on all of your healthy scans xx

SnickerdoodleSnek · 11/09/2020 16:24

Hey lovely ladies!

Finally out of the hospital! Bladder wasn't full enough so I had to drink more water first, but baby is healthy and wriggly! And also already stubborn and awkward as they kept rolling away from the ultrasound while the sonographer was trying to get measurements!

I'm 12+4, due date March 22nd! So only one day later than originally predicted from LMP. I'll post a scan photo later, off to tell all the immediate family!! 😍

Sam202020 · 11/09/2020 16:30

Congrats everyone one lovely scans! There is a few of us due the 22nd!!

Just had a call off the midwife to say so that they found group b strep in my urine so will have to have antibiotics now and when I go into labour. Had a little cry but glad they know it is there now

holb54 · 11/09/2020 17:02

@Enjoy07 they did take a urine sample when I'd the 12 week scan but they don't give results then.. going to see how the weekend goes and go from there!

@SherHar123 welcome! Finally someone with the same due date as me 😍

@SnickerdoodleSnek that's excellent news! Can't wait to see a pic later 💓💓

@Sam202020 sorry to hear that, at least they've seen it and you can now get it treated right 💜

@Sam202020 I had group b strep in my last pregnancy and my son was perfectly healthy when born. They're treating me with antibiotics again this time around again just to be safe. Its an IV drip and they give you antibiotics every 4 hours.

SnickerdoodleSnek · 11/09/2020 17:39

@Sam202020 Sorry to hear this! Though as it's been caught early at least treatment can happen. Fingers crossed it'll all go smoothly for you. ❤️

chloxhunt · 11/09/2020 19:54

@SnickerdoodleSnek @Sam202020 ayeeee atm east they've caught it Sam! And that's all that matters!

LandMammal · 11/09/2020 20:25

yay for all the positive scans 😍

Is it just in England they test for Group B strep? I'm quite certain they don't test for it in Wales 🤔

My midwife said urine stick turned purple at my 12 & 16 week check up and it could be UTI. like you @Enjoy07 I have no symptoms though, she said she was sending it off for further testing though. eek!

chloxhunt · 11/09/2020 20:28

@LandMammal I guess so??? I think I'm being tested for it

Thack · 11/09/2020 20:33

Catching up after a few days, congrats on the scans and welcome to the new posters!

I count four of us North Walians, I'm glad you're here - I'd forgotten that the MW had said I'd just hear from her with results.

How is strep b tested? I've got the scan paperwork, I'll try and flick through tonight to see what's in the blood tests.

Rosehips89 · 11/09/2020 20:36

@Thack to m south walian if that counts? My friend spotted a mention of protein in her urine a few weeks before she was due. She asked the midwife what it meant, and they half assed came to the conclusion that they should probably test for strep b. Turns out she had it and all went ok at labour but it nearly went unnoticed.

You can pay for a private test if like me, you have no faith in my local hospital

Sam202020 · 11/09/2020 20:36

Thank you everyone 💓

Thanks @MrsAndMrs a positive stores makes me feel better 😁

@LandMammal I'm wales and I know they don't routinely test everyone so I may have been tested because I have bladder problems anyway, they tested my wee regularly for everything before I was pregnant as I was under a consultant in the hospital. Also, it's shown in my wee before too so maybe she did it because I'd told her about that. Originally she told me I'd just be tested at 37weeks so I don't really know 😕

Mrs1989 · 11/09/2020 20:42

Congratulations to all who had scans today! It’s so hard to keep up now but great that there has been so much positive news of late Smile xxx

chloxhunt · 11/09/2020 20:45

I've got a little bit of blood in my discharge again making it look like a dirty colour should i be worried? I only had my scan this morning??

MrsAndMrs · 11/09/2020 20:50

@Sam202020 if it gives you a little reassurance then I'm happy! If you want to ask anything, happy to answer what I can about my experience.

Sam202020 · 11/09/2020 20:55

@MrsAndMrs thank you so much! I might have to take you up on that with my little stressy head

Babafarmer · 11/09/2020 20:58

My friend who had group B strep paid for the privately

LandMammal · 11/09/2020 21:39

@Sam202020 ah ok! Good that they seem on the ball with you!
@Thack you were right re. screening results going straight to MW (I think it was you who mentioned it?!). I got mine at my 16 wk check and it was 1 in 100,000 for both tests, so that's good 😁

MrsAndMrs · 11/09/2020 21:55

@LandMammal they don't routinely test for it in Scotland either, they never told me about it initially until I arrived at the hospital to have my first baby. They've offered me a test this time due to previous history but have said its better to give me antibiotics anyway whether I test positive for it or not so I won't even bother testing this time.

chloxhunt · 11/09/2020 21:59

@LandMammal that's what happens if nothings wrong with the blood work the midwife i saw today told me if nothings wrong we will send it to your midwife and you'll get a letter

chloxhunt · 11/09/2020 22:37

Just wondering but are 16 week scans not a thing anymore? I swear they were because earlier they were only talking to me about my 20 week scan
