@Usplusone that sounds like such an interesting profession. I'm a real science geek but I'm so glad I don't have to do exams to keep my accreditation it must be really nerve-wracking, I just have a little folder to show my cpd.

For my exam I'm already super behind because covid nad lack of childcare messed up all my research plans. Fingers crossed by March I would have done a systematic review (hopefully with a paper submitted) so they will see it's enough work paired with all the stuff I did before corona. My research is based in maternal mental health and infant feeding and I'm supposed to be doing focus groups but obviously right now I'm not allowed so hopefully they will take that into account.

@Wavescrashingonthebeach it doesn't sound like he is in the best place right now but you never know, he might change his ways. I always see the best in people, which a lot of the time gets me in trouble, but some people are worth taking a chance on you know?

Wavescrashingonthebeach · 11/09/2020 12:26

@KatyCherry23

I really did try from the moment i told him i was pregnant up until about a week or two ago when eventually he had fully took the piss beyond excusing. I gave him chance after chance, even driving him around & staying up late to pick him up from work. But then he would drink & not even go to work. My family & friends are disgusted with him, & i think his are too, although i think they enable his behaviour by lending him money and allowing him to live there for free and cook all his meals. If he proves to be committed in future, then great, but i wont hold my breath & i certainly cant rely on him.

ElsiesJourney · 11/09/2020 12:28

I can't remember who posted about taramasalata.... but I don't think I've stopped eating it since!?!?

KatyCherry23 · 11/09/2020 12:34

@Wavescrashingonthebeach it's such a shame when families do that, they probably think they are helping him but sometimes a bit of tough love is required. I was a mess until my mum kicked me out in my early 20s and I realised how hard life was. Hopefully will get his act together when the baby comes because it really does change people but know you and your baby will be perfect happy without ❤️

Taylortyler · 11/09/2020 12:54

@ElsiesJourney I we allowed taramasalata? I thought it was made from cured fish? Isn't raw fish on the list of no-go foods? (I have no idea?)

MrsAndMrs · 11/09/2020 12:58

Sorry struggling to keep up today! Congrats on all the positive scans ♥️

ElsiesJourney · 11/09/2020 13:03

@Taylortyler the roe is salted/ stored in brine so effectively pickled before its made. Equally it's supermarket bought and sealed so stored at temperatures that would kill off any bugs, and it's super high in vitamin d! So I've taken it as ok. I wouldn't eat it fresh/ homemade though just in case.

Rosehips89 · 11/09/2020 13:17

@Georgiaa18 Yes!! my nose has been stuffy for weeks now! I don't mind it though, because the other symptoms come and go so it's my little reminder that we're still on track.

Rosehips89 · 11/09/2020 13:19

@Babafarmer We're the same time along! When are you due? I forget if I was told the 6th or 9th. I'm not paying too much attention because they never arrive on time!

Bit TMI... anyone else feel they have to push to get their wee out? I need to go but when I get in it's so slow even though it does all come out eventually! Going to drink plenty today and see how it goes but if it's still like this Monday might have to go to the doctor, really hope it's not a UTI 🥴

@Calgoose thanks for your post Smile Yes, it does spoil things a bit as I can’t imagine I would have been this nervous if I’d never had a loss, but most of us are there or nearly there with the 12 week scans! And we can hopefully feel a bit more positive if we’ve been struggling so far.

@HollieL567 sorry to hear of your losses and that you have been feeling this way too. I have not had strong symptoms either but am starting to worry less as I understand lots of women have few or no symptoms or have symptoms that come and go! When is your scan?

@Wavescrashingonthebeach yes, I was planning on telling our families after the scan but had wondered if I should wait for the screening results letter following the scan. Or even a few weeks later whenever stomach starts to grow! But now thinking if there is an issue with screening results it will cloud telling family so perhaps best to just tell them not too long after scan. Basically I’m still quite undecided, but am desperate to tell my mum and sister at the least. They will be so over the moon. I told them straightaway last time and they were ecstatic. Then a week later it started to go wrong. So that is why I have been reluctant to tell them just yet xxx

holb54 · 11/09/2020 13:34

I keep thinking once I see the Easter stuff out in the shops I'll know it's near time for baby but this is going a bit far 😂

@ElsiesJourney good to know! I might have some this weekend...

ChilternsHan · 11/09/2020 13:55

@holb54 yes I have this - I go fine but then have to sit there for ages and wait for a second mini wee. I've sort of figured that it's because my bladder is more squashed than normal...hoping my uterus starts moving up soon to free it!

Calgoose · 11/09/2020 13:56

@holb54 please tell me that’s not a recent picture!

Although I did just pop into tesco following the glucose test (which was bleugh and really boring) and saw they had mince pies in. I was tempted but settled for a 3 pack of Galaxy Ripples Grin

Taylortyler · 11/09/2020 14:17

Is anyone else obsessed with juice at the moment? I can't get enough fruit juice of any kind. I'm trying to limit myself as it's just sugar but it's so hard not to keep drinking it! That and sugar free Fanta 😋

SnickerdoodleSnek · 11/09/2020 14:23

@chloxhunt

My scan went well! I'm due 22nd March
So pleased to hear this! ❤️

Thanks for all the well wishes folks! I'm on my way now and sipping all the water I can 😂 today has been so stressful so let's hope all is well! 🤞🏻

Enjoy07 · 11/09/2020 14:25

@Taylortyler I went through this stage a few weeks ago- in the height of my morning sickness! Now I’m onto glasses of cold milk?! I’ve not drank them since I was a child!

ChilternsHan · 11/09/2020 14:25

@Taylortyler I went through a phase of just wanting apple juice! It has passed now though.

@Calgoose I was sat thinking greedily about mince pies the other day - I love them and I might have to actually buy some if I see them! Definitely using pregnancy as an excuse this year, but in my job I've had to attend retailer's Christmas in July showcases, and have definitely had a mince pie or two at those on boiling hot summer days!

chloxhunt · 11/09/2020 14:25

@SnickerdoodleSnek good luck!! Everything's going to be fine!
My little one kept doing flips 😂

Calgoose · 11/09/2020 14:37

@ChilternsHan sounds like my DREAM to go to the Christmas showcases! Just said to DH there had better be a good non-alcoholic mulled wine! Definitely going to make up for the lack of Baileys and Prosecco with mince pies and Yule logs. I’ll deal with the weight gain in April Grin

holb54 · 11/09/2020 14:47

@ChilternsHan didn't think of that, going to wait the weekend out anyway and see how it goes! Thanks 💓

@Calgoose only took the screenshot today! 😂

@Enjoy07 my big thing at the moment is glasses of milk too!
