@SnickerdoodleSnek it's starting to feel like somethings inside when I turn around and move my legs now idek if that makes sense or not
Oooo what about side pain?😂

MrsAndMrs · 09/09/2020 22:01

@Babafarmer the worst pains felt like contractions going all around my bump and coming every couple of minutes. It lasted for a good half hour or so and it really had me worried and I also felt what was like a huge prod to my tummy one day when I was stressed out and i felt like I had caused it. Thankfully, all is good with little bub and they are happily paddling away in there! Never stops the worrying though!

chloxhunt · 09/09/2020 22:03

When did everyone stop talking their folic acid? I didn't take it today as I'm now 12 weeks and I'm convinced that it was that that was making me ill more than morning sickness

LandMammal · 09/09/2020 22:08

@Sam202020 yes I'm N.Wales....ahhh then I obviously didn't take enough notice of what was being said then 😂 think I was just overwhelmed with everything!!
I defo had a letter with my last 2 though so things must've changed.

@NoGinNotComingIn we're not finding out sex either, we just loved the suprise at birth with our other 2 (one of each!).

ChilternsHan · 09/09/2020 22:32

@Babafarmer the ones I had 4-8 weeks were almost exactly like period cramps, and occasionally I still get a mild version of that, but I also get a tight stretching feeling low down if I stand too quickly. It's almost like I've over stretched something rather than a cramp.

A few times it's been a sharper, more shocking pain, but it clears within a minute or two. I've also had a definite stretching feeling to one side of my belly button - not painful like a cramp.

All this stretching and still nothing that looks like a bump, just looks like I've spent a weekend drinking wine and eating salty snacks!

@chloxhunt I'm still taking all my vitamins and omega 3. His little brain will thank me!

ValidUser · 09/09/2020 23:22

Posted too soon. Here's something backing me up. bmcmedicine.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.1186/s12916-019-1432-4

holb54 · 09/09/2020 23:27

@ValidUser which vitamins are you taking (brand) and how long do you think you'll stay on them?

TheFoz · 09/09/2020 23:29

Really interesting @ValidUser, thanks for sharing.

ValidUser · 09/09/2020 23:37

@holb54 I'm on Zita West pregnancy plan (they have iodine) and vital DHA. I'll stay on them at least until baby's here. Apparently they're good for breastfeeding too.

holb54 · 09/09/2020 23:54

Thanks @ValidUser! Interesting article, going to have a look at it later

ValidUser · 09/09/2020 23:56

@holb54 meant to mention, the folate in those is methylfolate, so more available for the body to use. That's the main reason I chose them, but my brain is a bit switched off today!

Rosehips89 · 10/09/2020 05:46

Woke up at 5am absolutely starving! I'm kind of enjoying my quiet toast-filled mornings with a glass of milk. Will get to snuggle back down for a few hours before getting up for second breakfast :)

ChilternsHan · 10/09/2020 06:47

Thanks @ValidUser that's interesting research (although the mention of the SPSS stats tool gave me horrible flashbacks to my degree). I'd continued taking mine as I figured there was no harm, but now there's potentially a quantifiable benefit! I've been taking the pregnacare multivit but going to look into Zita West.

ChilternsHan · 10/09/2020 06:48

@Aurora124 hope you managed to get some sleep at least. Good luck today x

ChilternsHan · 10/09/2020 06:50

Argh sorry @Aurora124 tagged the wrong person! Far too early Confused

@KatyCherry23 thinking of you this morning, and keeping fingers crossed.

KatyCherry23 · 10/09/2020 07:10

Hi all

I'm already up, the pain woke me up again. It's so bad, nothing I do will stop it, it's like the dull ache you get with periods or what I had in early labour. I've had no further bleeding since yesterday but whenever I say that I get some straight after.
We've got a long drive into the nearest city for the epu. Hopefully it's not too bad but I'm taking every waterbottle I own in the car. I'm not driving, my partner is taking the morning off but he isn't allowed in the scan with me, only in the consultation room.

chloxhunt · 10/09/2020 07:30

@ValidUser ahh okay thanks!

chloxhunt · 10/09/2020 07:31

@KatyCherry23 good luck today! I hope all is well!

c24680 · 10/09/2020 07:38

Anyone else using an oil diffuser while pregnant?

I've have really bad nasal congestion, it's been 8 weeks and it's effecting my sleep so got a oil diffuser and eucalyptus oil and I can finally breathe! Just thought this morning though as they safe to use during pregnancy? I don't see why they wouldn't be as it's similar to a candle I guess

chloxhunt · 10/09/2020 07:40

@ValidUser might switch to this one then instead of original?

ChilternsHan · 10/09/2020 07:47

@c24680 essential oil diffusers are fine to use, my local midwife led unit has them in the rooms for women to use in labour.

I love eucalyptus oil, have a spray bottle with a mix of that and lavender in - nice sprayed before getting into bed.

MrsAndMrs · 10/09/2020 08:12

@KatyCherry23 good luck today, sending positive vibes!

TravelGem · 10/09/2020 08:21
