@KatyCherry23 I'm so sorry you're going through this, I hope you manage to relax a little until your scan tomorrow.

With my first pregnancy, I bled a bit for the first 4 months around the time my period would be due. This time round I've been okay for bleeding but I feel like I've had more "growing pains" that can be really unnerving at times and every scan I've had so far I've been an anxious wreck and it was never justified but its completely natural to think the worst, no one tells you just how worrying it is being pregnant! Keeping positive thoughts for you! X

KatyCherry23 · 09/09/2020 19:09

Thanks @MrsAndMrs I just can't wait until tomorrow, I'll be crying either way.

I had no bleeding last pregnancy so this is all new to me and because we saw a heartbeat I thought we were in the safe zone. I normally just brush it off as normal spotting but the pain was so intense last night it was like early contractions or braxton hicks. I was managing to stay positive until I knocked my boobs and there was no pain at all and I've not been able to touch them for weeks because they were so tender.

Oldermum80 · 09/09/2020 19:10

@chloxhunt I had that when I was 8 weeks. I was panicking but they took a swab and all ok

Oldermum80 · 09/09/2020 19:17

@KatyCherry23 keeping everything crossed for you tomorrow. Hope you manage to get some sleep.

ChilternsHan · 09/09/2020 19:20

@KatyCherry23 could you have a warm bath before bed? Might help you relax a little bit and maybe help ward off any cramps.

I've had the growing pains that MrsandMrs mentioned too, at one point they were getting painful enough to wake me in the night (although full disclosure I didn't have any spotting with them).

KatyCherry23 · 09/09/2020 19:29

@Oldermum80 thank you

@ChilternsHan we don't have a bath unfortunately just a horrible wet room so I've been using every hot water bottle we have in the house for now. I've got a tens machine that I use for periods but I'm scared to use it in the slight chance there is still a baby in there and I don't know if it would have an affect.

chloxhunt · 09/09/2020 19:32

@Oldermum80 ahh really? I haven't had anymore which is a good sign

holb54 · 09/09/2020 19:49

@KatyCherry23 sorry you've had a particularly hard time of it.. you've seen a heartbeat already which is a positive and you've said the midwife wasn't concerned last time. I know it's hard but try focus on those two positives and you'll have your scan now tomorrow! I'll be thinking of you tomorrow 💛 (might not relax you but if it does my boobs were aching at the start and they almost stopped over night and I've just had a 12 week scan which was fine)

Booked my gender scan for 2nd October. Can not bloody wait I'm so excited!!!!!

MrsAndMrs · 09/09/2020 20:08

@Phie04 snap!! We are the same day, I can't wait!!

Phie04 · 09/09/2020 20:09

@MrsAndMrs ahh how exciting!! Only 3 weeks to go 😁

KatieG200394 · 09/09/2020 20:12

@Sam202020 i think girl

@chloxhunt mine has looked like that the whole way through, nothing to worry about

chloxhunt · 09/09/2020 20:14

@KatieG200394 loads of people seem to being saying this! It's really reassuring!

MrsAndMrs · 09/09/2020 20:24

@Phie04 do you have any ideas? I'm leaning more towards a girl.....

Phie04 · 09/09/2020 20:26

@MrsAndMrs were thinking girl too. I hope it is but I would also love a boy so I'm 50/50. I've kind of convinced myself it's a girl because of the skull theory. It's so round and petite

LottieX · 09/09/2020 20:54

Yayyy so relieved I had a positive scan although I came away and read the report saying "technically difficult scan" as little one decided to cosy head down they couldn't get the measurements. 15 mins later and some car park exercise baby wiggled round and did some ka -pows!! I'm now 13+5 days instead of 12+6 so due date 12th March!

chloxhunt · 09/09/2020 20:58

@LottieX aww congratulations!

holb54 · 09/09/2020 21:06

Great news @LottieX 💗

@KatyCherry23 I really hope everything goes well tomorrow.

@MrsAndMrs @ChilternsHan how do you describe your growing pains. I've had pains for the last week but not how I would expect round ligament pain to feel and I would describe them as a cramp.

Fab news @LottieX x

chloxhunt · 09/09/2020 21:26

@Babafarmer I've been getting cramps across my abdomen since I was about 4 weeks

Babafarmer · 09/09/2020 21:30

@chloxhunt yeah I got cramps early on from 4 to 7 weeks but these pains feel different. I wouldn't describe them as a cramp. I'm now 14 weeks and they are how I would imagine it to feel when things are stretching. But everything I read about 14 weeks refers to round ligament pain x

chloxhunt · 09/09/2020 21:35

@Babafarmer maybe that is what it is? I can't even imagine what round ligament pain would feel like 😂

Babafarmer · 09/09/2020 21:37

@chloxhunt oooh you'll know when you get it. I've had it a few times when I've sneezed or turned over to fast in bed. I thought I'd been shot. X

chloxhunt · 09/09/2020 21:38

@Babafarmer ohhh yeah I think I'll pass on that if i move too quickly or lay oddly I'll get cramping but that's it's 😂 x

SnickerdoodleSnek · 09/09/2020 21:46

Oh gosh yes! I cannot get comfortable in bed as it is, but turning over can be horrid with that pain as you move! I have to be so careful, because I move around a lot with back pain, I don't need front pain too! 😂
