@holb54 sorry I didn't mention - what a beautfiful scan pic!! Huge congrats Smile so lovely to see your little bean!

ChilternsHan · 08/09/2020 06:57

I dreamt that I gave birth Confused I knew I was in labour but was walking around and the baby just kind of came out...that's how it happens right?!

In terms of telling people, I found telling them quite nerve wracking but getting their lovely reactions and starting to talk about what the next year may hold has made me feel excited. I know if anything went wrong then I'd need support from the people I've told too, so I felt it wasn't a huge risk.

EmzG20 · 08/09/2020 07:34

Lovely scan photos from yesterday. Wish me luck mine today at lunch time. Woke up this morning and my nausea is the worse it's been hoping it's down to nerves

MrsAndMrs · 08/09/2020 08:02

@EmzG20 good luck today! I was exactly the same yesterday, I tried to eat before my appointment but I really struggled cause I felt sick. Think its just nerves! Looking forward to hearing later!

Good luck to all the other ladies who have their scans today too! 🧡

SnickerdoodleSnek · 08/09/2020 08:13

Lovely scans from yesterday, ladies! And best of luck to those going for scans today!

Mine is three days away now (Friday afternoon) and I am getting more and anxious. I've had a bad tummy for a past couple of days and I'm so worried it's caused stress or damage to baby somehow. My symptoms are still there but mild, apart from fatigue, but a lot of that is lack of sleep.

I definitely have to agree about anxiety being a constant thing through pregnancy and even afterwards! They're our children and we're always going to worry about them, it's only natural. ❤️

Mrs1989 · 08/09/2020 08:19

@aureliacecilia I’m planning to tell everyone at work much later than the few ladies I work closely with plus my family. I am wfh at the moment so can get away with it! But feel I would like the support of my closest colleagues as well as my family if things don’t go well further down the line.

@LuHen you are probably right that most people do worry but just don’t voice it! My mum is a worrier but she has always been an amazing mum, such a natural! That’s a lovely way to think of our worries as maternal instinct 😊

@ChilternsHan so pregnancy dreams have started! Tbh that apparently was pretty much the way of it when my brother was born! It was all so fast and mum claims it did not hurt at all! And I agree with what you’ve said about telling the people you need support from even if it is nerve wracking. I think that’s the way I have to look at it xxx

Mrs1989 · 08/09/2020 08:22

@EmzG20 good luck for your scan today

@SnickerdoodleSnek good luck for your scan on Friday! Might the bad tummy be down to nerves? Our bodies can play such tricks on us! And yes, my mum says you never stop worrying about your babies - even when they’ve grown up! xxx

LuHen · 08/09/2020 08:32

@EmzG20 good luck for today - scan buddy! X

SnickerdoodleSnek · 08/09/2020 08:33

@Mrs1989 It's probably a contributor! I also have IBS so sometimes I have bad reactions to certain foods. Annoyingly it's inconsistent so I can be triggered by something one day and be absolutely fine another! I'm trying not to get too worked up about it. I'm definitely still excited for Friday more than I am nervous.

chloxhunt · 08/09/2020 08:42

When have or when are you going to stop taking folic acid? Sometimes I'm convinced it's that, that makes me feel sick sometimes

LottieDot · 08/09/2020 08:42

Congratulations everyone on lovely scans ❤

I'm with you on the nerves especially around telling people. I actually dreamt last night I told my mum and she was just a bit 'eh ok then' not excited at all. Which I know won't be true as she knows our infertility struggles and will be so excited. I think telling people will make it more real and thats just a bit scary 😳

EmzG20 · 08/09/2020 08:46

@LuHen good luck today also

ChubbyMumFromSkye · 08/09/2020 08:49

Morning everyone,

Good luck for today @LuHen and @EmzG20 and anyone else who has a scan!

@Mrs1989 I agree that telling people might make it more exciting and you may worry a little less, or focus less on the worrying anyway once people know.

For all those worrying, you are not alone and there is nothing wrong with you, it is natural to worry 😊💞

SnickerdoodleSnek · 08/09/2020 08:53

@LottieDot

Congratulations everyone on lovely scans ❤

Oh it's definitely a bit scary telling people! I haven't told anyone but my DH and my SIL and I'm nervous about telling friends and family, but especially my workplace. I know it'll be fine really!
Babafarmer · 08/09/2020 08:57

Good luck @EmzG20 and @LuHen. Looking forward to seeing your scan pictures xx

MrsAndMrs · 08/09/2020 09:56

We decided to put a wee post up on social media to share our news last night cause all of our family and close friends already know and we were excited. However, I felt a little knocked sideways when rather than just commenting "congrats" etc....one person felt the need to ask 101 questions about how we conceived, whose eggs etc....I just felt those questions were so inappropriate, irrelevant and none of their business. Put a bit of a dampner on it for me! 😔

Enjoy07 · 08/09/2020 09:57

@MrsAndMrs there’s always one that has to spoil it!! Honestly just ignore their comment and enjoy all the others congratulating you!!

ChubbyMumFromSkye · 08/09/2020 10:11

@MrsAndMrs that's annoying, I would delete their comment from the post you put up and ignore it, they will get the message that it was rude and inappropriate! Grrr! Some people just have no boundaries 🤯

MrsAndMrs · 08/09/2020 10:30

@Enjoy07 @ChubbyMumFromSkye thanks ladies 🧡 we have removed it now....we'll soon see if it brings on a private message! 😂 I just couldn't imagine being so rude!

Babafarmer · 08/09/2020 10:37

@MrsAndMrs how rude, and did they really expect you to share that kind of personal information on social media. Hopefully they'll get the message now. X

holb54 · 08/09/2020 10:44

Thanks @LuHen! Best of luck with your scan today 💓 and best of luck @EmzG20 too 💓 can't wait to see more scan pictures!

@SnickerdoodleSnek I've IBS too so I can relate, anxiety really made it bad yesterday and not to go into too much detail but I spent the morning of the scan on the toilet 🤦🏼‍♀️ it's a pain, bloody anything can set mine off

aureliacecilia · 08/09/2020 10:45

Ouch that's so invasive @MrsAndMrs!

Phie04 · 08/09/2020 10:46

Congrats on all the lovely scans yesterday! I have my second attempt today hoping they manage to get good look in this time. Wish me luck!

MrsAndMrs · 08/09/2020 10:50

@Babafarmer @aureliacecilia I'm glad you all agree! Its not the space for those kinds of questions and I would rather not discuss these things with someone who has no understanding of it either.

@Phie04 good luck today!

holb54 · 08/09/2020 10:51

@MrsAndMrs that was completely inappropriate! Don't let it put a dampner on things, there will always be one ignorant fuck. Delete and get rid off, maybe play it up and say it was natural and that you and your wife were as surprised as them 😂
