Defiantly with you on the weight gain @lc86 😅 I’ve come to terms with it now I won’t be someone who just carries on their bump 😂

peachypetite · 04/09/2020 07:25

I’ve not weighed myself either but don’t feel I’ve put on loads elsewhere. My boobs which were already big are huge though!! I have some days where I am starving and then others where I don’t eat that much if I have heartburn.

confused107 · 04/09/2020 07:38

I've decided not to weigh myself and will only worry about what I weigh if a healthcare professional tells me I need to. Figure this will all be over in a few months anyway so I may as well enjoy myself!

Kj1010 · 04/09/2020 07:46

I'm just being very careful what I eat and limit the crappy stuff as I'm classed as obese before I was pregnant and small in height and frame plus I have days to where I eat loads and then days when I'm not that hungry

kkr168 · 04/09/2020 09:03

I'm up 10lb at 28 weeks, I think I gained the majority of that during august's eat out to help out scheme, we participated a little to much!!
I agree with what a few other have said though in that I have days where I am starving hungry, no matter how much I eat & other days I just don't get hungry at all.

Babyhope98 · 04/09/2020 11:37

Haha me too @kkr168 after lockdown I have over indulged in eating out and then the eat out to help out scheme did not help my weight out!! I’m trying to be good now no more eating out 😅

nearlyamummyof2boys · 04/09/2020 13:20

Hey all!
Hope everyone is well!
Finally had my appointment at my new hospital - took absolutely ages answering every question under the sun! Which is good I guess - however she was so not understanding about my situation. She kept saying I wouldn't be seen as a multiple pregnancy as I only have ONE baby now! When I knew I was meant to and when she finally went to see fetal medicine they confirmed that I was to be with them and they are going to spend the day with me next week which I'm really happy about.
It always seems to be one good thing and then one bad thing when it comes to care.
She also asked me what happens to my dead baby do I give birth to him or not?!?! How ridiculous is that!!
It sounded like the doctor and twin midwife are really nice so excited to see them on Wednesday and see my baby again ❤️

Been reading some interesting twitter feeds on how much of a rotten time is pregnant ladies are getting during the virus and it's so true - all these stressful appointments alone take their toll!

I love those suits @confused107

Babyhope98 · 04/09/2020 15:07

That’s awful @nearlyamummyof2boys how insensitive of her. Defiantly insist on the right care x

NaomiB79 · 04/09/2020 16:21

I just had my 30 week growth scan. The sonographer said she is 97th percentile for waist circumference and over 97th for head circumference! She's also estimated to be above average for weight at this stage. Got to say I am a bit worried she is going to be huge 🙈. Will wait and see what the midwife says when I see her in a couple of weeks. Was lovely to see her again and was an added bonus that my partner was allowed into this one x

danielasummer · 04/09/2020 17:26

@nearlyamummyof2boys glad you will be seen now by a nice doctor and midwife but what the heck at the 'care' you received today!! Hopefully now you will be seen consistently by the right people and it's plain sailing from here on in.

@NaomiB79 I don't know much about the percentile stats but those numbers are good aren't they? That she is growing at a normal rate? Also does everyone get a 30wk growth scan as I thought it was just 12 and 20? I'm clueless clearly!

EithneBlue · 04/09/2020 17:38

OMG running around school has given me chub rub. Emergency anti-chafe shorts ordered before Monday. Ouch :(

NaomiB79 · 04/09/2020 18:07

@danielasummer the stats mean she is growing well above average but loads of friends have said they were told their babies were measuring either big or small in the late stages but their size was totally different to what was predicted, so I'm not going to worry too much about it. Most people only get scans at 12 and 20 weeks, it's because I'm 41 I get an extra two at 30 and 36 weeks because I'm classed as higher risk.

peachypetite · 04/09/2020 20:02

Anyone else had Braxton Hicks? I’ve had it a couple of times, painful but passes quickly.

PipTed · 04/09/2020 20:14

I’ve now been taken on by the homebirth team, so plans are very much being put in place for that which is great.

Does mean that I am now under the care of a different midwife (who will be at the birth) and she was concerned that I STILL don’t have my bloods confirmed with paperwork or any of my urine tests. So she had to take bloods again, to check. 🙈

Also measured small ( opposite of your experience @NaomiB79) with the physical exam, but scan today revealed Baby is bang on the middle line for growth, which is such a relief!

I also fell down the stairs today, so was good timing for the scan, for piece of mind. Have 3 flog he s of stairs here so will have to be more careful.

Any one else’s teeth seem to be moving a bit? I’m struggling with a few wobbly ones. Also have trouble with ligament pain most days, more of a nuisance than anything else.

Anyone having a baby shower? My friends have egged me on to have one in October, but not sure how it will work with COVID.

PipTed · 04/09/2020 20:16

peace and flights

nearlyamummyof2boys · 04/09/2020 21:11

I thought I had it the other day - really felt like contractions but then I was sick so wasnt sure if was that? @peachypetite

How did you know it was Braxtons? If that's not a silly question lol

Snowwhite2020 · 04/09/2020 21:44

@NaomiB79 I have also been told I am carrying a big baby. After my bump measuring big at the midwife appointment I was referred for an additional scan and the head, tummy and femur measurements are all above 97th percentile and they estimated the baby was the size of a baby 3 weeks bigger than the due date. None of this surprised me as I have been feeling the third trimester aches and pains/ lack of sleep/ very sore back etc etc etc that we are all familiar with and my tummy looks massive- like a huge basket ball plastered on to my front as I am otherwise pretty small! They also tested me for gestational diabetes but this is not routine in my area and was as a result of the big baby measurements but the results said I do not have GA.

Can totally relate to what you’re saying about it being a bit scary getting that news Naomi...

@nearlyamummyof2boys I am appalled oh your behalf at the way you were spoken to at your new hospital. I think you could report that- totally inappropriate way to speak to a pregnant lady. My experience of health professionals has also varied quite considerably depending on who you get on the day it seems...

Love to all. We’re getting there girls 💪

Snowwhite2020 · 04/09/2020 21:46

*sorry three weeks bigger than its gestational date. Not the due date- that WOULD be massive! They told me any baby measuring more than two weeks ahead of their gestational age is classed as “big”. Not sure how scientific that is or if that is how they actually do it...

NaomiB79 · 05/09/2020 10:36

@Snowwhite2020 let's hope our babies growth slows down a bit so we don't have to give birth to huge babies! I've also been tested for diabetes and the test was fine so that's not a factor for me either. I think my baby is measuring about 2 weeks ahead.

Snowwhite2020 · 05/09/2020 10:46

@NaomiB79 are you going to be monitored moving forward? X

Coffee123123 · 05/09/2020 10:57

Hope you don’t mind me jumping on. I’ve just joined mumsnet and am looking forward to sharing experiences with other mums to be. I feel we’ve had a raw deal so far due to covid restrictions. I was so looking forward to meeting new mums and making new connections but there’s nothing happening locally with antenatal classes and it feels a lonely, sometimes scary journey ahead!

I’m 27 weeks on Monday. This is my first baby and I’m due early December. Can’t believe the third trimester is literally just around the corner!

NaomiB79 · 05/09/2020 11:10

@Snowwhite2020 they didn't say in the hospital but I will ask my midwife when I see her in two weeks. I have another growth scan booked in at 36 weeks anyway just because of my age. How about you, are they going to monitor you more closely?

@Coffee123123 welcome to the group. Hope you are keeping well? X

Snowwhite2020 · 05/09/2020 11:18

@NaomiB79 yes I was told I would have more scans but I wasn’t being monitored for anything else so I wonder if because you had another one booked is why you haven’t been told anything...? Is this your first baby? Xx

Dee96 · 05/09/2020 11:47

Place making, any has also been measured on the 97th percentile with a big belly Blush. Was meant to have a gtt test but they booked me in for over 28 weeks so now apparently I cant have it? In all honesty I'm pretty sure it's got something to do with the fact I'm 5ft and my partner is 6"4. Also as previous poster said scans are not accurate so I wouldn't be surprised if all our babies came out average. Anyone else suffering with rib flare? I'm getting it so bad under my right breast to the point that I cant turn at night or sleep/breath. I'm wondering how bigger we can all possibly get for the remaining months when the baby has already run out of room and I look like I'm about to pop!

Kj1010 · 05/09/2020 11:48

Morning all welcome @Coffee123123 this is a lovely little group . Does anyone else feel like there boobs are lumpy mine do especially my right one all over I take it's the mik glands etc lol I havent heard nothing bout my diabetes test was a week ago now so thinking nothing was found and am ok on that front was a little worries yesterday as baby didn't really move much but was keeping in mind what midwive said but this morning back to being quite active was gonna ring up and see but got movement now so am satisfied he ok I have my next scan in 2 weeks so that helps and then for the dreaded injections has anyone else gotta have them they for anti clotting to reduce risk from 28 weeks to 6 weeks after birth every day gonna have one sore belly lol
