@Amyyy1 I use this website

It gives you a really good timeline and facts!
Like my babies head is now the size of a lettuce!
And only 1 in 20 babies are born on their due date!

I keep waking up with dead arms where I'm sleeping on my sides which is annoying as takes a while b4 they feel normal again plus the waking up 2/3 times for a wee lol

alphabetti · 31/08/2020 08:58

I am almost 26weeks and trying to sleep on my left side but often wake up on my back. I’m waking up for the toilet about 3/4 times a night. It’s frustrating as means I get tired in the daytime and then it’s hard to concentrate on work.

We have bought most things now just need changing mat, bouncer chair and cot bedding plus nappies and wipes. I feel lots of movement but mainly when lying down. Scans have shown placenta is high up at back so maybe baby being pushed forward and that’s why I feel big kicks/lots of movement?

Pink15 · 31/08/2020 09:02

@Amyyy1 I think the nhs say 28 weeks xx

Babyhope98 · 31/08/2020 09:03

@Pinktruffle - I've been in twice for movements too already. Definitely a baby without a clear pattern and sometimes poor movement perception on my part (I'm actually now writing down every time I feel movement because 50% of the midwives tell me I must be wrong when I say there is no pattern and the other 50% are like "yeah that happens sometimes: so long as it moves regularly it's cool")-- but I figure it's better to keep attending and for them to think about it as a "risk" than for there to be an actual problem that I ignore. The worst case scenario is that they get boring, monitor more often and don't let me have a water birth: in the grand scheme of everything that's OK with me - I'd rather be sure I have a healthy baby.

EithneBlue · 31/08/2020 10:17

@babyhope98 That is a beautiful image!!

Babyhope98 · 31/08/2020 11:06

Thank you ladies 🥰 @nearlyamummyof2boys @MummyShark97 @EithneBlue

Jwl45 · 31/08/2020 11:36

@confused107

I'm glad it's not just me.
I do make sure I'm back on my side. I was cushions and pillows all over the place last night. 🤦‍♀️ Let waking up to check they were still there 🤣

confused107 · 31/08/2020 11:45

I'm also struggling to identify a 'pattern' of movement but I'm only 26 weeks do hoping it gets clearer in the next couple of weeks

My mom brought me one of these which I have just started using. I feel better when I can see she has moved during the day even if there is no obvious pattern and it's easier than writing it down

peachypetite · 31/08/2020 11:48

Isn’t pattern from 28 weeks??

Kj1010 · 31/08/2020 12:17

I was told by midwife start looking for pattern at 28 weeks as she cud feel baby move wen I couldn't even though I see a pattern forming already I wont start counting and worrying till I hit the 28 week mark

Bluebell2020 · 31/08/2020 12:28

I'm 27+ 3 and have absolutely no pattern. Some days I don't feel a thing and others it's like she's having a party! I actually went for a 3d scan on saturday... She wasn't in a good position (face squashed into the placenta) so got sent for a walk and chocolate. Second time she had moved a bit but not enough so got sent away for an hour plus more chocolate. 3rd time we went back she had completely moved but this time had her legs stuck right up over her face! I didn't feel any of the movements though. We've still not got a picture so back next weekend for 4th time lucky 😂😂😂

Babyhope98 · 31/08/2020 13:10

I can’t say I have a pattern either I’m 27+2 today, I always have quite a bit but quiet some days than others. So comforting most of you seem the same x

peachypetite · 31/08/2020 14:03

Yeh me too. I have my 28 week appointment this week and will ask midwife more about movement pattern with an anterior placenta and what that means. I’m looking forward to seeing someone in person again, the phone appointments have been pointless. I’ve also realised only six weeks until my next scan to check on my low lying placenta! When it was booked in it felt like an eternity to wait. The second trimester has definitely gone a lot faster than that awful first one.

EithneBlue · 31/08/2020 18:54

@peachypetite I'm 28+2 - one midwife told me a pattern "will" be established by 25 weeks and to pay better attention!! I don't think babies are an exact science 😂
I have my 28 week appointment on Thursday... the joy of more blood tests. Yay.
Back to school tomorrow: I am not ready for that alarm clock in the morning

Pinktruffle · 31/08/2020 19:02

You are going back @EithneBlue? How do you feel about that? My school are still waiting to hear for guidance from our MAT so I've been told to stay at home for now. I spoke to my line manager about half an hour ago and he said to me that he is hoping the MAT will be sensible and let me work from home so I'm hopeful that I won't have to go in.

Will still have to get up early as I'll be attending all the meetings/training tomorrow via Teams but not as early as it would be if I was in school.

EithneBlue · 31/08/2020 19:17

@pinktruffle I am going back: I have no other risk factors aside from pregnancy (although being over 28 weeks is higher risk) and my school are basically following the government guidelines that say even vulnerable staff can go back (with risk assessment). I have slightly mixed feelings about it (I must be anxious: I got a cold sore and I only get those when I'm a bit stressed) but I am genuinely really looking forward to being back in a classroom. In truth my bigger concern is just how tired I'll be after so long out of school on a timetable that requires me to move to the students. I am pretty happy with the distancing measures my school have in place so hopefully that's enough to keep me safe.
I hope your MAT are sensible and listen to what you want to do (especially as I think you said you had other risk factors?) - when are they going to let you know?

Pinktruffle · 31/08/2020 19:53

@EithneBlue I'm asthmatic, over 35 and BAME and they are all seen as additional risk factors so I would feel more comfortable working from home. No idea when they are letting me know though, they've just said to sit tight and wait.

I know of colleagues that have gone back too but they very much wanted to and I think people should be allowed if that's what they want. It does feel strange knowing everyone will be back without me, I miss them all! When have you put in for maternity leave?
