@Babyhope98 Good to know. Thank you for you response x

kkr168 · 25/09/2020 10:14

@MsBee13 I have the same most mornings, I just put it down to how my bump sits when I'm sleeping

peachypetite · 25/09/2020 10:41

I had terrible back ache yesterday night. Actually everything just ached and I found it hard to walk to the toilet in the middle of the night. Work has been really really hectic and I think I was on my feet too much yesterday cooking.

excitednerves · 25/09/2020 10:47

I’m really worried about the Covid restrictions @MummyShark97. Here in NI we’ve gone backwards and they’ve restated that there will be no visiting in antenatal, postnatal or induction wards. I don’t really want to do this on my own, although looks like for the most part I’ll have to. So I guess I better start getting into the right mindset. My heart breaks for FTMs, at least I know what to expect, although I’m in a different hospital this time.

I have such an achey back at the minute, low down near my coccyx. It makes running after a toddler not much fun. I’m having a lie down now while he naps.

confused107 · 25/09/2020 11:00

Thanks for the link @MummyShark97 I do hope things are lifted in time for us. I am a FTM but think I will be ok on my own if I have to. I just worry about having to deal with something going wrong on my own (I have this fear at every scan/appointment to be honest). It also breaks my heart that my husband is missing out on so much. This is our first and only child. It's half of him and he deserves to be there

confused107 · 25/09/2020 11:00

@nearlyamummyof2boys how are you all doing?

Pinktruffle · 25/09/2020 12:00

@MsBee13 I'm due on the 26th too, I've been having period type pains as well. They are pains rather than cramps and happen about once a day for the last week or so. I don't know if its growing pains or Braxton hicks or just my body getting ready for what has to happen in a few weeks! I'm not too worried about it though.

Babyhope98 · 25/09/2020 12:11

Baby’s using my bladder as a trampoline today keep getting the urge I will wet myself

Pinktruffle · 25/09/2020 12:17

@confused107 I can definitely empathise with what you are saying. I feel very sorry for my husband missing out on pretty much everything. We have 3 embryos frozen so there is a chance for a sibling but God knows if it will happen. I will be gutted if he misses the birth as I think that is a huge life changing moment. I am undecided about an elective C-Section and it makes me lean towards having one so DH can definitely be there. It will be harder for me to recover afterwards but I'll just have to make do. I just hope missing out on things doesn't effect his bond with the baby. Luckily he is working from home till at least January so will get to be around a lot. Even after that he will be working from home around 3/4 days a week his company have said.

MsBee13 · 25/09/2020 13:32

@Pinktruffle I have the same. It's strange as it lasts only for couple of hours and the. It's gone. Let's see what happens. Fingers crossed that all is fine xx

MsBee13 · 25/09/2020 13:35

@confused107 did you try private scans? That's what we did and my OH was over the moons to be able to see the baby. I'm sure it's still not too late to do 3D scan?

confused107 · 25/09/2020 20:13

@Pinktruffle nothing in the freezer for us and our IVF fund is drained. Also I'm 40 next summer so this is it for us

@MsBee13 we have been lucky enough to have 3 private scans (including a 3D one) which I'm grateful for, but nothing is explained like with NHS ones. So lucky we have been able to afford them. I think all of the services are stretched/ different. My midwife gave me a magazine and said that they aren't running NHS antenatal classes anymore so the booklet was to explain feeding/sleeping ect. We are lucky enough to be able to afford a private antenatal class but there will be many who can't that find themselves at home trying to follow diagrams on breast feeding and they are likely to be the most vulnerable. It's sad really

peachypetite · 25/09/2020 21:25

I feel quite lucky that my hospital is running proper antenatal classes for free, online, so I wasn’t forced to spend the ridiculous money I was quoted by NCT. Also, they have relaxed the rules so partners can now come to scans (I have one at 34 weeks) so I’m really pleased my husband will experience that. They’ve also relaxed the rules around induction and visitors post natally

MsBee13 · 25/09/2020 21:57

@confused107 I'm glad you managed to get to private scans. That's great. I know about antenatal classes and it's sad that we have to do these paid and private too. But at least there are options there.

Kj1010 · 25/09/2020 22:10

Really suffering tonight since having whooping cough jab I have a sore throat cough and blocked runny nose seems cant use much to help relieve it and I dont have much in house etc gonna be a restless night

NaomiB79 · 25/09/2020 22:23

Hi All,

If anyone is looking for cheap / free classes then I would recommend The Honest Midwife. The first class - Natural Labour and Birth is free then the others are only £10. She has 7 in total, we've done the natural labour one then one on Complex Labour and Birth where she explains assisted births, sections etc, a feeding one where she talked about formula and breast feeding and we have an infant first aid one booked too.

Also the Baby Academy run a 2 hour free class on Baby Care which was great as well. We've learned loads on these classes. Both are run by experienced midwifes who share the most up to date guidance on all of these topics.

Pinktruffle · 25/09/2020 23:49

@NaomiB79 I did The Honest Midwife class and thought it was fab, I will be paying for some of the others though I need to pull my finger out with this as I'm running out of time! Might book this Tuesday actually for class 2.

They are brilliant though, better than Baby Academy DH and I thought so I recommend giving her a go with the free class

NaomiB79 · 25/09/2020 23:57

@Pinktruffle I liked them both. The Honest Midwife was good but there was a bit of noise in the background during our classes with her family coming and going a bit during the class which was really a bit distracting. I probably preferred the Baby Academy one, but both excellent in terms of content and the fact that they were free / low cost.

jojanna · 26/09/2020 06:30

The worrier that I an has found something new to worry about - baby positioning, and when it engages with the pelvis! I'm now at 33 weeks... recently baby has sorta been back upwards, head tilted down, feet pointed up, although lots of overnight movement suggests she's on the move again (to the side/upwards). Kinda hoping she gets outta my lungs and heafed towards the exit before too long... have borrowed a Pilates ball to play with, and my NCT class is pushing some of the spinning babies exercises - not sure how much to set in store by any of these things!

Jwl45 · 26/09/2020 08:45

Morning all. Does anyone have any good tips on sleeping? I'm 33+1, sleep on my left side as advised.... And this last week has not been comfortable at all.
I'll go to sleep, wake up during night with a dead leg... The left one! It's not so much cramp but a heavy, dull ache. I turn on right for a bit then try and go back to left side. I've tried cushions, pillows , v-pillow, pregnancy pillow.... and a sorts of leg positions 🤣🤦🏼‍♀️ Nothing seems to work. Anyone been in this situation with some solution? X

Jwl45 · 26/09/2020 08:46

That should say... All sorts of leg positions!

december2020 · 26/09/2020 09:06

A stupid question but is anyone having this pressure around their pubic bone?

We had a horror day in London yesterday (tube delays, lots of scurrying and walk running). I'm not sure if that's the cause but since then I've had this weird pressure around the middle of my pubic bone/vagina.

I wouldn't say it hurts or is super painful as I can still walk/talk through it, but it's definitely there.
Slept 9 hours last night and it's still there. Has anyone else experienced this?

peachypetite · 26/09/2020 09:35

My pregnancy pillow is amazing. Just started using it recently. It’s huge and I find it comfy with some of the pillow in between my knees.

@december2020 I had similar couple of days ago...I'd only been doing some light housework... So kind of came from nowhere. Lasted couple of days... Hurt when I went to sit ... Or stand up after sitting and then walking. (Waddling at that point) Seems to have eased now though. Prob the extra weight pushing down...

Bluebell2020 · 26/09/2020 10:20

@jojanna I wouldn't worry too much. My little one has been breech on growth scans for last 4 weeks and they've said she has plenty of time to turn and get into position :) I'm 31 weeks x
