Been awake since 4.45, yesterday it was 5.15. Happens most days but it's 50/50 whether I get back to sleep. Makes work very difficult

december2020 · 24/09/2020 07:23

@MummyShark97 I have the same craving for ice cold drinks all day. And if not water then something that has a really zingy refreshing taste to it.

peachypetite · 24/09/2020 07:30

Yep I am getting through quite a bit of ice...at least no calories. I’ve noticed a definite increase in appetite so upped my fruit and trying not to eat loads of sugary snacks. Hard when you’re tired though sometimes to choose a banana over a bag of crisps!

Awkes · 24/09/2020 07:43

Congratulations @nearlyamummyof2boys 🥳 so pleased you’re both happy and healthy! 4lb is a fantastic weight aswell. Hope you and the rest of the family get home soon and enjoy these extra days with Wyatt in the world ❤️

Glad I’m not the only one struggling with sleep and I’m the same with the drinks especially at night. Such a vicious cycle tho as just means more wake ups for the loo. The best I’ve done recently is 3 trips 🤦🏻‍♀️ Seems to be the minimum now. I’m so so ready for maternity but 6 more weeks at work 😭 my team are looking after me so I’m grateful but just want to be home now

PipTed · 24/09/2020 07:45

I’ve woken up with such a thirst too! Our bodies must be working super hard now, with our milk supplies and lively, growing babies.

My appetite is all over the place at the moment. Some days I can barely eat (I either feel too full from lunch or heartburn dictates), other days I want all the snacks. I to am
Trying to fill hungry days with healthy snacks - but the sugar cravings are getting really strong.

I’m prepping my hospital bag and wondered-has anyone bought a waterproof mattress cover in case their waters break in bed?

peachypetite · 24/09/2020 07:54

The toilet visits are beyond ridiculous sometimes. I’ve just been about three times in 25 mins. Basically every time I stand up I need to go.

Kj1010 · 24/09/2020 08:16

Morning all @nearlyamummyof2boys wow congrats on baby wyatt coming into this world fantastic weight my sister was only 4.11lb full term well I didn't get much sleep last night due to the pain in my side from injection and omg that whooping cough one has totally killed my arm I asked why my weight hasn't been checked was told they do t check it often now found that strange havent had my belly measured either but then havent seen a midwife since 24 weeks even though never checked then either so weird that use get it but they ain't bothered where I am

kkr168 · 24/09/2020 09:04

@pipted I purchased some disposable bed pads, similar to the puppy training pads. We've got brand new carpets upstairs & I'm seriously considering covering those in pads nearer the time too 🤣

I've also been awake between 4-5 most mornings, I've been trying not to go straight on my phone & instead just lay with my eyes closed, sometimes I fall back to sleep eventually!

PipTed · 24/09/2020 09:12

@kkr168 yeah the pad mats are on my very glamorous list too. I’m contemplating covering the sofa in them as it’s velvet. 😱

H&M have finally come through with the maternity nightwear IN BLACK! www2.hm.com/en_gb/productpage.0796793001.html

Asianchick6693 · 24/09/2020 09:44

Morning girls, hope you're all well! I've got a whole new thing to start worrying about. My baby's movements were reduced all of yesterday and I thought she might be having a quiet day but the MWs reassured me they'd rather see me than not so I went in and typically she started kicking and fussing lots then! So I was pleased and relieved. However, the senior midwife has referred me for a scan this afternoon because apparently it seems like there could be too much fluid around baby? Of course since she's said that I've been non stop worrying. Anyone else has the same only for things to be okay? I'm sure I'll know by this afternoon but I just want everything to be okay 😭

Babyhope98 · 24/09/2020 15:03

Was everything ok @Asianchick6693 ?

Asianchick6693 · 24/09/2020 15:05

@Babyhope98 haven't been yet, appointment is at 4:40pm. I'm trying to stay positive and she's been really active all of today. Thank you for asking. Will let you know once I'm back x

confused107 · 24/09/2020 16:20

No advise or experience but best of luck @Asianchick6693

Babyhope98 · 24/09/2020 16:49

Yes try not to worry @Asianchick6693 x

NaomiB79 · 24/09/2020 16:50

@PipTed I've bought a waterproof mattress for our bed and the mattress was really expensive and it's new so don't want it wrecked if my waters break.

I also bought puppy pads for the car seat as the car is new also and I read a post from someone saying their car seat was ruined after their waters broke on it.

Of course having bought these things now is a guarantee that my waters won't go either in bed or in the car now but wanted to try and protect them as much as I could if it does happen.

NaomiB79 · 24/09/2020 16:51

@PipTed that was supposed to say waterproof mattress protector / cover

Asianchick6693 · 24/09/2020 17:54

Hey girls, good news baby is absolutely fine. Fluid measurement is normal and baby is also fitting nicely on the graph. Assuming the 3cm extra that the MW measured me at is just fat 😂 looks like I'll have quite a bit to lose once baby's here. Thanks for reassuring me girls.

Also rang manager to update her on my PGP told her I'll be off for a week at least as per my physios advice and she requested a sick note? Then my doctor was like ring back after 7 days when you no longer can self certify. Don't understand why manager wanted a sick note, thought she would know of all people. I'm just taking each day as it comes and still waiting to hear back from maternity action, they've received my question but seem to be taking their time answering.

MsBee13 · 25/09/2020 08:15

Good morning ladies, I hope you and you babies are all well! I'm due 26 November (currently 31+1) and experiencing bad period like cramps every morning for couple of hours, for the past few days. Anybody experiencing the same? It's only in the mornings. It literally wakes me up each time. I'm fine during the day. Thank you x

Kj1010 · 25/09/2020 08:42

@msbee13 8m not due till early december and dont have that yet but could it be Braxton hicks maybe if u are concerned maybe call midwife for assurance

Flowerpotmen87 · 25/09/2020 08:49

@MsBee13 braxton hicks tend to come on more when you’re dehydrated/have a full bladder/have been physically active. Guessing the most likely cause will be dehydration if yours are mostly in the morning, so maybe try upping your fluid intake?

MsBee13 · 25/09/2020 08:56

@Flowerpotmen87 @Kj1010 I will try to up my fluids intake (not being good at it lately tbh) and if keeps happening, I will call my midwife. Thank you ladies x

Hope that’s true!! @MummyShark97

Asianchick6693 · 25/09/2020 09:11

@MummyShark97 I really really hope they have changed this to support us pregnant mamas! I've still got ages left but I keep having anxiety at the thought of being alone before active labour. Also some women have good experiences and others not so much and it all depends on the hospital team etc and how straight forward your birth is but just having your birthing partner there is the extra boost of support every woman in labour may appreciate.

Babyhope98 · 25/09/2020 09:13

I sometimes wake up with an achy belly @MsBee13 I think it happens when my belly hasn’t been supported by my pregnancy pillow. I sometimes even have a dull achy period pain underneath bump I haven’t been worried as midwife said unless it takes your breath away not to worry and so much growing is going on now not surprised, I’m due 28th of Nov x
