@EithneBlue how is school? I’m finding work (from home) so tiring now so big respect to all you ladies who are working in person. I am honestly really feeling it now and feeling so grateful that I have so much annual leave to take and use before my due date. Initially I had discussed with manager finishing just two weeks before and I honestly don’t know how I’d manage now. Interesting that the midwife said that about instinct too!!

EithneBlue · 20/09/2020 16:32

@peachypetite - It's actually nice to be back in and teaching properly (I genuinely love my job) but OMG I am exhausted at the end of every day (and my timetable requires SO MANY STAIRS) - I've also discovered the joy of swollen ankles from being on my feet so much... super sexy.
(I'm also deliberately not thinking about Covid. The idea is too intimidating so I am taking all precautions and hoping for the best.)
Of course I haven't helped myself to catch up on rest this weekend - I've spent most of it doing the garden -- planting my over-winter onions and carrots for next year :-)

Pea1984 · 20/09/2020 17:14

@EithneBlue I hear you about the swollen ankles!! Since being back at school mine are so puffy every day. Not enjoying the tiny tables and chairs in YR/1 either. Not sure how I’m going to last until 38 weeks.

Pinktruffle · 20/09/2020 19:24

@EithneBlue yeah on the days I'm doing lots around the house, I don't think I notice baby moving as much. However, I do spend a lot of time sat on my bottom! I'm glad to hear work is going well for you, not long left till you finish now!

I think I've developed PGP, I'm going to have a chat with my midwife if/when I see her. If I sit for a long time and try to walk, i find it ridiculously painful and if turn myself over in bed go on to my back during the transition, it's also incredibly painful.

EithneBlue · 20/09/2020 21:49

@Pea1984 Oh yikes: at least my chairs (and students) are normal sized! My leave starts at 37 weeks officially but because of half term I actually finish at 36 weeks. If you really do start to struggle you could always go off earlier or request some additional support? Depends on your school I guess?

excitednerves · 21/09/2020 08:42

Teachers, you have my full respect! I’m WFH and I’m exhausted! I go off at 35 weeks, so just 6 weeks to go for me. I’m also only doing 3 days a week and it seems so scary to only have 18 working days left! Eeek!

Although TBH the thought of end of 3rd trimester with a 1 year old makes staying in work feel positively relaxing!

Kj1010 · 21/09/2020 10:51

Morning all well I've had a mare I've had to take my son for a covid test as he showing a couple symptoms so now cant work for 24/48 hours also had to cancel hospital appointment so will be now 30 weeks wen I get seen that will be the 2nd time since positive test and to top it off had a email from sons college to say another positive e covid

chubbyhotchoc · 21/09/2020 11:43

Morning all. After another horrendous night of acid bile in the back of my throat and no sleep I've just got a prescription for omeprazole. Anyone else taking it? I'm at my wits end with terrible heartburn and reflux. Can't take it anymore

MummyShark97 · 21/09/2020 11:48

@chubbyhotchoc

Sympathise with this ! Mine was so bad last night had no choice but to sit up in bed for a good while in the early hours. Just awful isn't it! Starting to feel those "I'm a bit fed up" moments now.

Grateful my OH has been so supportive, I've disturbed his sleep so much and he's always so kind! Not sure I'd be so cheerful at 3am.

I am going to look into some medication too now though.

Also, if anyone has been suffering from itchy skin on their bump (mine has been so awful!!) I have now started using calamine lotion and it's literally been a life saver and worked amazingly for me!

@MummyShark97 I went in the front bedroom in the end. I just felt like I was choking all night. I've been taking rennie but it's just not cutting it at all. I can't stomach gaviscon at all. Even the tablet versions make me sick.

kkr168 · 21/09/2020 11:55

@chubbyhotchoc my acid reflux hasn't made an appearance for a couple of days now, thank god!

I had barely any sleep last night, couldn't get comfortable, felt like babies feet were stuck in my rib cage!

Did anyone see today's announcement? They are predicting 200 covid deaths per day come November, I really hope that won't be the case.

Babyhope98 · 21/09/2020 12:07

I started on it last week it has been a godsend I couldn’t take it anymore @chubbyhotchoc

chubbyhotchoc · 21/09/2020 12:09

@Babyhope98 how long did it take to work? I'm
Wondering if I can carry on with the rennies as well

Babyhope98 · 21/09/2020 12:23

I noticed a difference the first day and completely stopped the next day I take it in the morning 30 minutes before food @chubbyhotchoc

peachypetite · 21/09/2020 12:54

I’ve only had heartburn a couple of times so far but it is so awful. Glad you’re getting medication. The surge in corona is worrying. I just said to my husband that nobody will be coming to visit our newborn except family who will have to self isolate the couple of weeks before, at the rate we are going.

nearlyamummyof2boys · 21/09/2020 13:23

Hey all,

What a pregnancy this has been! I'm back in hospital - I've got a tear in the membrane of my sac and was leaking amniotic fluid.
which means I've got a 50% chance of going into labour in the next 48 hours - so they're keeping me in the see.
I feel fine and baby is healthy and strong 💙
If I don't go into labour while I'm here I have to come in twice a week because of high risk of infection and will be induced at 37 weeks!
I'm moving house on Thursday!

I'm feeling ok though I know I'm in the best place and that baby is well and if he comes early he will be in the safest hands 💙
I don't want to go into labour early but I'm also so over this pregnancy and ready to meet this miracle baby!

You must all be fed up of me all I do is come here with bad news 😂

I've got my own room and tv this time so just resting and praying I make it through the first 48 hours 🤞🏻

nearlyamummyof2boys · 21/09/2020 13:25

I hope your new medication helps @chubbyhotchoc there's nothing worse then acid.

That's rubbish @kkr168 this bloody virus can really do one now can't it! I've just had my 3rd test in 10 days argh!

nearlyamummyof2boys · 21/09/2020 13:26

@Kj1010 what I said below about Covid as well!

Babyhope98 · 21/09/2020 13:48

Aww hope the little bubba stays in for as long as possible.. At this gestation the odds are defiantly in your favour and he defiantly is a fighter, stay positive ❤️

MummyShark97 · 21/09/2020 14:09

@nearlyamummyof2boys

We're never ever fed up of you! Always just admiring how you keep going and happy to be here to support you!

What a strong a little boy! You'll have so many stories to tell him one day. Wishing all the best for you and you're definitely in the right hands, keep going xx

OP posts:
Pinktruffle · 21/09/2020 14:17

I hope you and baby are both doing ok @nearlyamummyof2boys. Please keep us posted and fingercrossed everything goes your way. Are you 32 weeks now?

nearlyamummyof2boys · 21/09/2020 14:21

Thanks all ❤️
I'm 31+5 @Pinktruffle so they're giving me steroid injections to help baby grow incase he does come early. But survival rate is 99% at this gestation.

NaomiB79 · 21/09/2020 14:33

@nearlyamummyof2boys what a pregnancy you have had! I have nothing but admiration for how you have dealt with it all, you're one incredibly strong lady! Keep us posted on how you are and how things develop over the next 48 hours. You're in the best place for you and your baby to be taken care of xx

Pinktruffle · 21/09/2020 14:34

My friend recently had hers at 33 weeks and baby is doing brilliantly after a few days in NICU. Fingerscrossed, if yours comes early it will be a similar situation but hopefully he will hold on for a while yet. All the best xx

lionsmum · 21/09/2020 14:54

@kkr168 I think they are saying that without any further action the number could end up at 200
deaths per day by then... probably saying it in order to prepare us for the news which is about to come re. stricter guidelines & tighter restrictions in general

@nearlyamummyof2boys oh my goodness, it really has been relentless for you, you must be exhausted with it all. Sending lots of love to you and your baby boy, please keep us updated when you can about how things are going💙
