@nearlyamummyof2boys oh no you just seem to have one thing after another you poor thing. @kkr168 that’s so cute!

NaomiB79 · 14/09/2020 17:24

@nearlyamummyof2boys hope everything is okay, you really don't need this need, let us know how you get on.

@peachypetite I feel the same way about work, I've got six weeks left then hoping to have three weeks off before the baby comes. Struggling for motivation at work now but just focussing on my handover and hoping it goes in quickly

nearlyamummyof2boys · 14/09/2020 17:51

Thanks for wishes everyone. All ok! Baby is well 🥰 they think maybe a bit of my placenta tore off. So just got to keep an eye on it and rest!

Have to say care was amazing today. Never made to feel silly and doctors and midwives were as quick as they could be in a busy unit.

Babyhope98 · 14/09/2020 18:21

Great news @nearlyamummyof2boys try to take it easy!! X

Anyone else gets days where they have aching along their pubic bone? Feels like a period pain but my midwife said that as long as it doesn’t take your breath away not to worry. Wondered if anyone gets the same..

excitednerves · 14/09/2020 22:10

I’ve ordered lots for my hospital bag today. My first came at 33 weeks and I rocked up to the hospital with nothing, totally thought I was overrreacting and would be sent home again. Luckily DH could bring stuff in for me back then. There’s no postnatal visiting in my trust so if it happens again I’m screwed, so I’m getting my packing done early this time.

excitednerves · 14/09/2020 22:11

My back and under my bump have been aching the past few days. Anyone else? From my last scan, baby is now head down but I feel like she’s trying to break my pelvis in half now!

danielasummer · 15/09/2020 06:31

@nearlyamummyof2boys I feel like you can't catch a break bless you, glad to hear everything is ok with baby. Hope you can get some rest!!

danielasummer · 15/09/2020 06:32

@excitednerves eeeek what did you order? That's so exciting!! I think that's on my to do list for this week too.

Can I ask what people have bought in terms of a nursing nightie for hospital?

peachypetite · 15/09/2020 06:43

I’ve ordered about four packs of boots maternitt pads. A friend with two kids said to order way more than you think you’ll need Sad
Also disposable knickers from JoJo
I already have nice mini sanctuary products for myself for toiletries.
Nightwear have found www.bonprix.co.uk/products/Marl-Shirt-Nightie/_/A-960989_18?location=7

excitednerves · 15/09/2020 06:57

@danielasummer I’ve ordered breast pads, a pack of maternity pads for later on but in hospital I plan to use Tena lady pants. Used them with my first and they were amazing. No need to worry about sticking pads in knickers or ruining knickers.

Next on the list is pyjamas, I’m just ordering normal ones in a size up. I nursed my first in normal T-shirt’s so I have the hang of it now.

Then I think I have everything else except snacks.

Oh and I’ve bought a new cabin case. Can’t wait for it to arrive!

nearlyamummyof2boys · 15/09/2020 07:20

I'm super excited for my new bag as well @excitednerves I've also got tena pants I've found them so much better then big pads.

I feel the same @danielasummer 😫

Kj1010 · 15/09/2020 07:57

Morning all I'm gonna make a start on hospital things any ideas as changed so much since I last had my daughter ino pjs pass etc

peachypetite · 15/09/2020 07:59

@Kj1010 there are endless threads on here if you search and I also found www.nhs.uk/conditions/pregnancy-and-baby/pack-your-bag-for-birth/ helpful

kkr168 · 15/09/2020 08:59

@Babyhope98 I get this, especially when I wake during the night for a wee, I hobble along holding my bump!

@peachypetite they looked great, just ordered a couple

What bags everyone going for, to take to the hospital? I had a small suitcase (slightly bigger then carry on case size) last time & the midwifes made out that it was huge! I'm planning to take similar this time, plus a backpack with snacks, drinks etc as I'm assuming we won't be able to wander all over the hospital this time, with covid restrictions.

NaomiB79 · 15/09/2020 09:04

@danielasummer I bought this checked nightdress in Tesco was only £12 but buttons right down the front and is really cosy and roomy. I never wear nightdresses ordinarily. I bought the pj top too (it buttons about half way down) and they have several bottoms you could buy to go with it. I really struggled to find nightwear that buttons down the front!

@nearlyamummyof2boys it’s the little things that are exciting! Ha ha ha!

Tena pants are so good! My husband picked them up randomly when I was in hospital the first time and I’ve never looked back. I recommend them to everyone. Don’t know why this isn’t a more widely known hack?

excitednerves · 15/09/2020 09:16

@kkr168 I’m going for a cabin case. Maybe an extra bag with snacks etc. My trust doesn’t allow any post natal visiting so all I get is what I come in with. I was in for 5 days last time so I’m over packing!

@NaomiB79 I always found it easier to pull a T-shirt up than undo buttons for feeding. Everyone’s different though and I guess we all work out what works for us. I’m short too and normally wear high waisted jeans when not pregnant so there’s never much skin on show. In hospital I won’t care!

peachypetite · 15/09/2020 09:19

I’m definitely going to be packing shitloads of snacks if the rules are still really strict about visiting. Planning separate bag for me and baby and will put a baby bodysuit, sleepsuit and hat in a couple of different sizes in small freezer bags clearly labelled for husband

nearlyamummyof2boys · 15/09/2020 09:37

I got this bag to take in I wanted to treat myself after a rough pregnancy and liked the fact that it had matching vanity cases.
It was only £19.99 ok studio though! Not sure what it will be like it's coming this morning ☺️

nearlyamummyof2boys · 15/09/2020 09:39

The handbag part will be solely full of snacks and cans of coke - I craved full fat coke after labour last time and was on my own so had to wait for my first visitor to come to get one!

kkr168 · 15/09/2020 09:50

Does anyone know anyone that's given birth recently, were they confined to 1 room?
With my 1st I was pacing up & down the corridors & outside the hospital for hours, I'm hoping were not just shut in a room this time.
The closer I'm getting to full term, the more I'm panicking, been having so many awful labour dreams too.

excitednerves · 15/09/2020 10:01

Oooh that’s lovely @nearlyamummyof2boys! I like the matching handbag of snacks idea!

@kkr168 I’ve had a few really down days thinking about labour - more the postnatal no-visiting bit and if my baby ends up in NICU again. Im worried about going into triage on my own although my husband says I was totally on the ball last time and didn’t need him, but maybe that’s because he was actually there? Lol. My first labour was really fast too so I’m worried he’ll miss it.

Thankfully I know a midwife who works in my hospital so I’ll be begging her to come and see me!

NaomiB79 · 15/09/2020 11:26

I just saw my midwife and she says I'm measuring over 33 weeks (I'm 31+4). I have another growth scan booked in anyway for 36 weeks so she said they will make a plan then as to whether I'll need to be induced early or not.

I'm happy to be induced early if that's the best thing for the baby so will just need to wait and see but even more reason to get my hospital bag in order!

Jwl45 · 15/09/2020 11:43

@nearlyamummyof2boys Ww this looks really nice. I had one on wheels last time.... But that's now broken... So did think of something similar.. or I have a little case..... Not sure about the whole case thing 😂.

lc86 · 15/09/2020 11:49

Oh my god tena pants sound genius, why have I never thought of that! Would they be ok after a c section? And also ladies that have used them before did they hold the 'loss' ok? Not leak through etc x
