@TerribleImagination, all around us had extra restrictions in place, but we didn't until today!
Already have quite tight restrictions at our hospital compared to some others (nothing updated since June time) hoping they don't make them any tighter. Other local hospitals in areas with higher numbers/been under tighter restrictions, have reviewed theirs and eased some of the maternity rules ...seems we're a bit behind! 😔

TerribleImagination · 12/10/2020 19:54

@BS9790 Oh no! That sucks you’re just in that tier now 🙁 The different rules at different hospitals is so frustrating isn’t it? It just seems so unfair.

BS9790 · 12/10/2020 20:08

@TerribleImagination, yes.. Didn't mind the maternity restrictions when it was the same for everyone. I feel its really unfair that the experience you/your partner get during this time depends on your postcode.

If we went 5 miles down the road, my DH could stay for 3 hours at induction, and visit twice a day for 2 hours at a time, I could also have 2 birth partners if I wished.
Here it's 1 birth partner at 4cm, stay an hour after the birth and 1 hour visiting a day (DH only) x

BS9790 · 12/10/2020 20:09

I know there's worse things going on in the world... And I'm done complaining now 🤣🤣 just needed a whinge!

TerribleImagination · 12/10/2020 23:12

@BS9790 Haha don’t worry about complaining lovey! I’m so done with COVID and lockdown and everything now, it feels never ending sometimes!

We’re the same here, no partner until 4cm etc etc... What a ballache! I feel very very lucky that my bestie is a midwife, so my plan (all being well) is to stay home as long as possible and have her tell me when I need to go in! Hopefully by then I’ll be over 4cm, so DP can come with. I’m very aware that plan will absolutely depend on how baby girl wishes to enter the world though 😂 so we’ll see! What will be will be eh!

@Ejb86 how are you coping? So sorry to read you tested positive, I hope your doing as well as you can under the circumstances. I hope your being well looked after your end of things 🤗

ChampooPapi · 14/10/2020 05:54

And the late stage pregnancy early wake ups begin... Sigh 😔. On a good note though I got my section date yesterday so we are looking to have bonfire night babies 🎇 booked on for the 5th of November when I'll be 37 and 2

Ejb86 · 14/10/2020 07:35

Awww @ChampooPapi that's lovely! They'll have fireworks every year to celebrate their birthdays!

I'm ok thanks. Just a little weak now and no sense of smell at all. It is really bizarre. I have my 20 week scan on Monday so I'm counting down to that and checking she's ok. Hubby will still be isolating, so I'm going alone, but that's ok.

SunnySideUp2020 · 14/10/2020 08:23

@ChampooPapi omggg i am so excited for you!!!!!!!! 5th November is like tomorrow!!!!!!
You'll meet your baby girls 💓💓💓💓💓💓
You're getting to the finish line, you've made it 😉

@Ejb86 i also have a scan on monday, will be thinking of you xx

I have been growing some weird anxiety because of nightmares that i am not pregnant anymore. So annoying. I promised myself i wouldn't start again with these thoughts it's exhausting.
I am feeling so normal these days that a part of me is convinced it is not possible that i am pregnant. 😑

Whiffle77 · 14/10/2020 11:48

Don't apologise @BS9790 it is hugely crap and making an already anxious time more anxious for us all! Its pretty rubbish.
Oh wow @ChampooPapi thats so exciting, almost there now! Thats when I finish work so I will be on countdown with you too. I feel you in the tiredness, I barely slept last night and feel utterly awful.
Glad you aren't feeling too bad @Ejb86 and good luck for the scan, sure baby will be fine.
I have had some crazy dreams whilst pregnant @SunnySideUp2020, it can leave you unsettled. I also felt the same as you at your stage - its annoying to hear i know but try and enjoy before you start feeling pants again haha!
I had a rubbish appointment at the hospital yesterday, seemed a bit pointless and no one seemed to know why I was there! But on the plus side all looks fine with baby on the scan. Back at nearly 38 weeks to see if i need a c section.
Feeling very grumpy and tired today! Bah!!

TerribleImagination · 14/10/2020 12:53

Ahh that’s so exciting @ChampooPapi! What an amazing birthday to have ❤️ Mine is on Halloween and I love it for the same reason, it’s like everyone comes out to celebrate 😂

I’m feeling a bit nauseas again today! It’s been creeping up, so I wonder if it’ll return for the 3rd trimester 🤢 Luckily I have half day off work today, a well-being day they’ve told us all to take, so I’m off for a lovely nap 🥰

MilsCookie · 14/10/2020 14:41

@ChampooPapi ahhhhh this is SOOOO exciting!! 🎇🎆🎇🎆🎇 not long to go at all now!!

@Whiffle77 sorry you had a rubbish appointment 😞 why might you have to have a c section?

@Ejb86 @SunnySideUp2020 good luck on Monday, will be thinking of you both 😘

@TerribleImagination sorry the nausea has returned lovely 🤦🏼‍♀️ not cool when you're wellllllll last 1st trimester and pretty much in the 3rd!!

I had my weekly scan today and thankfully everything is still looking as positive as it can be. I get so anxious every week just before it thinking, 'omg what if they tell me it's time to get them out?!' but today she said if things continue as they are then they'll push towards the 34 week mark - which would be AMAZING! (Cos it was originally 32 weeks, then 32-34) so I'm just praying everything stays the same. They estimated twin 1 as 2lb 4oz and twin 2 as 2lb 14oz, which I'm pretty pleased with for 28 weeks! 🤞🏻🙏

MilsCookie · 14/10/2020 14:43

@TerribleImagination *past 🤦🏼‍♀️ not last!

P.s. forgot to say I also had more bloods taken again today checking for pre-eclampsia AGAIN because I now have permanently swollen feet and ankles 😞

TerribleImagination · 14/10/2020 15:15

Thanks lovey @MilsCookie! It’s really not that bad in comparison to the 1st trimester, thank god! 🙈 I’ve just had a nap and that’s eased it too, so I think it’s probably adjusting to getting up early again for work and having less sleep haha!

That’s GREAT news about your scan! 34 weeks would be so much better. Your little girls are tough cookies! 🥰

BS9790 · 14/10/2020 17:48

@milsCookie, that's great news!

@TerribleImagination, that's rubbish you're feeling sick again hopefully it won't stick around for long.

@Whiffle77 I hear ya on the pointless appointments... Feel like half of mine have been like that.

We're having another quiet day movement wise, seems to be a once a week thing! Gonna see how things go this evening and hope he moves enough to calm my nerves. I really just want him here now 😩

Leok83 · 14/10/2020 18:47

Hey ladies, I've had a week off with DH which was lovely especially as my morning sickness eventually eased enough for me to enjoy food and life and walks again! I didn't spend much time on my phone so have soo much to catch up on!

@TerribleImagination I really hope your nausea is not back to stay for third trimester, it really is just horrendous being constantly sick🙁

@Ejb86 you poor thing having COVID, 🤞 you start to feel better soon and thank god you didn't get it bad! Can't believe your 20 week scan is coming up soon!!

@ChampooPapi that's so exciting you have a date to look forward to..and it's soo soon too!! You are almost there!! So in the next few weeks we will have lots of new babies born here😊😊

@MilsCookie delighted your scan went well again. It's looking so positive for you now!

SunnySideUp2020 · 14/10/2020 19:07

@Whiffle77 thanks for reassuring me.
I think i get anxious when i can't sleep at 3am.
During the day i am much more confident in that my body is doing its job and baby is ok.

@MilsCookie another good update! 🥳
My mum who had twins said she had a big swelling problem but due to water retention. Could you also suffer from that if not PE?

BecsterG · 14/10/2020 20:41

Wow @ChampooPapi, 5th November is so close how exciting!! Not long until you meet your girls.

@MilsCookie brilliant news about your scan. 💕

BS9790 · 14/10/2020 22:54

My hospital has suspended all visiting as from midnight tonight due to spike in covid cases 😭 was only allowed DH for an hour a day and even that's not allowed now!

So fed up now 😩

Ejb86 · 15/10/2020 06:31

I've just read something that said someone has had no sense of smell for 7 months after having coronavirus. This has devastated me. I might never smell that newborn baby smell of my little girl. Sad

ChampooPapi · 15/10/2020 11:13

Light a candle tonight if you'd like to ladies for wave of light 🕯️

SunnySideUp2020 · 15/10/2020 12:03

Will do.
Lovely idea @ChampooPapi thanks for sharing.

Whiffle77 · 15/10/2020 12:17

I have a fibroid @MilsCookie and they arent sure if will block babies exit! So will see where they are later on and make a plan. Great news about your scan!
@SunnySideUp2020 everything is worse at night, im panicking and lying awake at night a lot too!
@BS9790 that is utterly rotten, im so sorry 😔 another area close to us has just gone up a tier, so I dont think we are off. Its completely miserable isn't it?
Glad you had a good break @Leok83
I think long covid is quite rare @Ejb86, fingers crossed you will be back to normal soon
Thanks @ChampooPapi I had seen that, seen a lot of posts about baby loss awareness week which has made me feel quite blue too - but awareness is completely the right thing.
