So... I have tested positive for covid!

SunnySideUp2020 · 11/10/2020 18:47

@Ejb86 oh damn... sorry to hear 😔
How are your symptoms?
Are you gonna have to isolate?

Ejb86 · 11/10/2020 19:06

@SunnySideUp2020 I've been isolating for the past week as I worked in a class where there have been a number of positive tests. My symptoms started on Tues, so I can come out of isolation next weekend.

Symptoms are ok now, just feel like I have a bad cold. Felt really weak and achy initially and couldn't get warm.

scrumdiddly123 · 11/10/2020 20:22

Oh no @Ejb86 sorry to hear that! Hope you’re feeling better soon x

TerribleImagination · 11/10/2020 20:27

Oh no @Ejb86 you poor thing! Glad to hear it hasn’t been really awful for you though and that you’re on the mend!

How’s everyone’s weekends been? I’ve been down in Essex visiting my fam and friend (I’m originally from there but live in the North now). The car journey (5 hours) was a lot tougher than I thought it would be! DP was driving, but I ended up so uncomfortable!! 🙈 Had a lovely weekend though, but glad to be home now to my own bed (and pregnancy pillow - oh how I missed it!😂).

MilsCookie · 11/10/2020 21:07

Oh no @Ejb86 !! So sorry to hear that. Glad your symptoms haven't been on the scary side.

I've had a very productive weekend with DP painting the spare room (with the help of my sis and her bf) all in preparation for new carpets in there and babies' room a week tomorrow. Then can start putting furniture in and can finally organise all their clothes!!

28 weeks tomorrow and very excited to say we'll have made it to the 3rd trimester!! 😅 every week we get to now just feels like such a blessing/relief. Scary to think that they'll be here in 4-6 weeks max! 😬

BS9790 · 11/10/2020 22:01

We've decorated our bedroom this weekend, I think I've spent that much time in it over the last few months that I'd had enough of looking at it 🤣 glad that everything in the house is back in its place now its done!

Have brought moses basket & bouncer downstairs ready to put them out tomorrow so that the dog is used to them being around. I don't think she'll bother with them other than a quick sniff but I want to make sure 🙈

BS9790 · 11/10/2020 22:03

@Ejb86, hope you're feeling fully recovered soon xx

TerribleImagination · 11/10/2020 22:20

Busy DIY days this weekend! Got to love prepping for baby’s arrivals though 😍

SunnySideUp2020 · 12/10/2020 06:29

You are brave @TerribleImagination
I would definitely not to 5 hours car ride 😅
After our road trip in summer i literally now have an aversion for the car!

I started using pregnancy pillow night.
Being 15 weeks and sleeping on my back thought it would help me get into the habit of side sleeping. But no! Instead I slept on my back surrounded by the pillow, it was awesome 😐

@Ejb86 i hope you feel better soon 💓
Will you have to go back to work after you come out of isolation?

Ejb86 · 12/10/2020 06:34

@SunnySideUp2020 yes. I think so. I'm hoping this might make the head think about letting me work from home once we get to 28 weeks. It is so scary. I've been lucky that I've had a mild dose. I actually think this is the second time I've had it, but the first time was before testing was available and before I was pregnant.

AlviesMam · 12/10/2020 06:41

@Ejb86 Aw no hope it goes away soon bless you! Glad your symptoms are only mild!

Went for Sunday lunch yesterday with friends and got some more lovely gifts, this baby has a better wardrobe than me!

@MilsCookie Omg third trimester! Amazing, these four weeks will fly by!

@BS9790 I was thinking the same regarding my dog haha trying not to let him feel pushed out and getting him familiar with all these new things!

I'm still at the in-laws and will be for another 5 weeks so I'm having to just settle and sort things for her arrival.

Hope everyone had a lovely weekend xxx

37 weeks today wtf!!?? It feels surreal

MilsCookie · 12/10/2020 08:24

@AlviesMam wow 37 weeks - you're full term!!! 😃 I'm so excited for how many of our rainbow babies are going to be born on this thread in the next few weeks! 😍🌈

TerribleImagination · 12/10/2020 08:38

@SunnySideUp2020 That was definitely my last long car journey for a while, that’s for sure 😂 Sleeping in my own bed (with my beloved pregnancy pillow) was bliss last night! 🥰 Welcome to world of amazing pillows 😂 The side sleeping does take some getting used to!

SunnySideUp2020 · 12/10/2020 09:14

@MilsCookie congrats 👏💓 i missed your post! 3rd trimester, you made it!!! So happy for you :)

@AlviesMam you will be moving after giving birth? Is your house being purchased or renovated? Sorry i can't remember why you are staying with in laws! It was a few of us in this situation 😁

MSG92 · 12/10/2020 12:08

Hi, not part of this thread but saw the title and wanted to ask, how long did you all take to conceive after MMC? I had a chemical with my 1st in July and no luck since... Don't get it, 28, fit and healthy, been off contraceptive for a good 6 months or so, tracking ovulation but its not working :(

TerribleImagination · 12/10/2020 14:18

@MSG92 So sorry you find yourself here lovey. There’s quite a variety of here of how long it took to get pregnant again after MC. Personally for me, it was 5 months. I was also confused as I’d fallen pregnant on the 2nd month of trying the first time, so didn’t understand why it wasn’t happening. I think sometimes our bodies need time to get over the MC and get back to where they need to be to carry a pregnancy again. Fingers crossed that it happens again for you very soon! We all ‘met’ on a thread for TTC after a MC, which was so helpful to all of us. I’ll post the link for you ❤️

MSG92 · 12/10/2020 14:24

Thanks so much, best of luck

MilsCookie · 12/10/2020 15:52

@SunnySideUp2020 thank you lovely! Can't quite believe it!! Beginning to feel more and more positive that these babies will make it... I just want them to stay cooking inside for as long as poss!!

@MSG92 so sorry you are going through this. For me it took 4 months to conceive after my mmc and they were some of the longest months of my life. I remember just thinking it would never happen again. But like @TerribleImagination said, I think our bodies just need a bit of time sometimes to get back to normal. I know now in the grand scheme of things that 4 months was actually such a short amount of time, and I'm really grateful that I conceived again that quickly. But when you've experienced a loss and you want something so badly, the waiting for it to happen can be torture. I'm sure the girls on the TTC thread will welcome you with open arms. Good luck :-) x

Whiffle77 · 12/10/2020 17:15

Congrats on final trimester @MilsCookie and full term @AlviesMam 🎉🎉🍾 both are big milestones!
Hope you feel much better soon @Ejb86, you poor thing.
I dont think my dog would notice to be honest @BS9790! My cat has however been sleeping in the car seat which is very annoying!
I am super grumpy today, I dont know why. Have a scan tomorrow so perhaps maybe that, although I don't feel as anxious as previous scans at least. Hopefully in a better mood tomorrow! I was meant to see some very close friends this weekend just gone too, which fell through due to covid, so that has left me feeling blue. Not seen them since I have been pregnant and now worrying I won't before the baby is here! Just really sick of it all now (as I know everyone is, and it could be a lot worse!)

BS9790 · 12/10/2020 18:37

How is everyone been affected by the new restrictions? We're tier 2... Can't see it changing before the baby arrives in 2 weeks, so grandparents might have a long wait 😭 my mum will be devastated - she is following really strict distancing, she has hardly been anywhere since March and started isolating today along with me & DH. But she doesn't live alone so we won't be able to form a bubble 😩
X

BS9790 · 12/10/2020 18:38

@Whiffle77 haha no to be fair, my dog sleeps around 20 hours a day... But does have her loopy moments so want to be sure she knows they aren't for her! X

Whiffle77 · 12/10/2020 19:00

We are the lowest tier at the min, but all around is counties that are tier 2 so that doesnt bode well...I feel for you and your mum, its gutting and I'm terrified the same will be the case for me by the time I give birth. This pandemic has taken so much from all of us pregnant people already, its so tough. It could, as always, be worse but its easy to feel sorry for yourself!
Hopefully your area will drop down a tier quickly @BS9790 but the uncertainty is really tough.

TerribleImagination · 12/10/2020 19:44

@BS9790 We’re tier 2 still, so same restrictions as we’ve had for a while now... DP’s entire family are in Liverpool though, so tier 3 🙁 His Mum is just gutted to be missing out on seeing us and seeing bump grow. I really really hope this doesn’t carry on until January (when I’m due).

I just don’t understand why London is apparently totally fine?! 🤷🏻‍♀️ It was darker on all their maps just now, the South is SO BUSY in comparison to the North (I was down there this weekend).... I just don’t get it.
