AlviesMam · 09/10/2020 18:13

@SunnySideUp2020 if you like it keep it 😁😁😁 it's cute! I also love navy!

ChampooPapi · 09/10/2020 18:15

Phone is on the blink

ChampooPapi · 09/10/2020 18:21

@AlviesMam the point where you can no longer see your feet is monumental! Congratulations, you are officially incredibly pregnant 🙌💖

@SunnySideUp2020 it's lovely, and a woman after my own heart, I love blues on a girl, I've got tons of blue, have a little blue suit myself from John lewis, do have pink thing's too, but I also love a brown, and a deep green always looks really unusual and cute too.

These brown ones are from baby Mori and are bamboo, scuse the 🐙, my daughter is obsessed with it and insisted it go in my photo. She sleeps with the thing 🙄

AlviesMam · 09/10/2020 18:27

@ChampooPapi I'm loving the brown and nude baby clothing atm!! ☺️

ChampooPapi · 09/10/2020 18:34

@AlviesMam yes! This is exactly why I got them! They came with nude as well 😍

ChampooPapi · 09/10/2020 18:35

@AlviesMam I'll link them for you, they are eye-wateringly expensive I'm afraid but at the time I had a twenty percent discount code i think, there's usually some code knocking around for mori

ChampooPapi · 09/10/2020 18:40

@AlviesMam

babymori.com/products/ribbed-front-opening-sleepsuit-2-pack?variant=32087005167702

Yes the code is still there but it was 20 percent off 100 pounds and as I needed four I qualified for that. I need to stress they are the only new clothes other then two bundlers I've brought the twins, it was one of those naughty purchases but Mori is such quality, it really is worth checking their sales on future. The stuff washes and washes and looks the same years later

Not trying to temp you....but this would look very lovely on a baby girl as your into blue, and it is reduced (nudge nudge)

@SunnySideUp2020 if you like it, keep it. You may get a lot of strangers referring to 'him' while she's wearing it, but as long as that doesn't bother you, I say crack on!

This baby girl will be wearing a lot of DS's old clothes!

@BS9790 sorry that you've got to make that decision. In your shoes, I'd also opt for the c section.

This next bit justifying why I would make that choice might be a bit scary, so feel free to ignore, I'm just a big believer in having as many facts as possible to allow for an informed decision, and your consultant may not have mentioned them.

The recovery from a planned section is usually quicker than from an emergency, and from what I've heard/read the operation itself is usually quite relaxed as it's 'routine'. My emcs wasn't bad, but I wouldn't describe it as relaxed, and because DS's heart rate was dropping their priority (rightly) was to get him out ASAP, rather than minimise any injury to me (not that I think they didn't minimise injury to me, if you get what I mean, but it could be they had to make a larger incision to get him out quicker). Also, you're more likely to be tired if you labour for hours first, and the operation is more complicated if baby has started making their way down the birth canal.

If you needed interventions during a vaginal birth you could end up with severe injuries, induction brings its own risks, and I think if the risk of shoulder dystacia was increased that would swing it for me.

SunnySideUp2020 · 09/10/2020 18:51

@ChampooPapi i was already looking at the website after you added the first link already got a basket 😆
Need to figure out if they deliver outside UK.
DP is not gonna be happy though!!!! We said we ll wait after the 20w scan to go crazy on baby stuff 😭

I love the nude and blush colors too!!
But the ones i liked are only available in newborn. How do i know if newborn is not too small? Got to wait right?

@AlviesMam
That view is awesome !!! A whole human is in there. Fascinating.

FireflyGirl · 09/10/2020 20:37

@SunnySideUp2020 you won't really know until baby is here, but most newborn clothes go up to 9lb, so most babies fit in them for a couple of days at least! DS was a long 7lb11, and he was in newborn for a couple of weeks, but if it was something £££ that I loved, I'd buy a bigger size to get more wear out of it!

@AlviesMam it's when it starts moving all by itself that it is really weird Grin I haven't seen anything below my belly button for a few weeks now, God knows what it looks like down there!

I had my 36 week midwife appointment today, and I was less than impressed. Apparently there's a slight amount of protein in my urine, so they'll check that again at my next appointment (um, yeah, that's a given!!). Which is in 2 weeks. By which point, I will be further on than I was when I had DS!!

I asked about my birth plan - she said that they should have done it at the antenatal class. I explained that was an absolute shambles, lasted 2 x 40 minute sessions in one evening, and the instructor was feeding her child to sleep through the second half. Which would be fine, except that she switched her camera off so there was no engagement whatsoever, and she finished the session very abruptly without giving us any details about further sessions. Of which there have been none. Today's midwife told me I should complain, and look on the hospital website for the info to complete my birth plan. Very helpful, thanks!

I asked about the cramps I keep getting, and she said it's probably something called pelvic girdle pain. Which just highlighted that a) she hadn't even looked at my notes, as I have been having treatment for pgp since my 16 week appointment and b) she wasn't listening to me as I'd mentioned it not 10 minutes before when I had to struggle up onto the examination table! Hmm

Sorry for the vent, I'm just so uncomfortable and fed up, and I know you ladies will understand!

ChampooPapi · 09/10/2020 20:58

@FireflyGirl I totally understand, I'm so 'over' midwives at this point

ChampooPapi · 09/10/2020 21:02

@FireflyGirl I feel as if every appointment is like the first, the groundhog day experience is starting to grate on me. But then I did fantasise about lunging through the post office shield booth earlier and grabbing the teller by the throat so I'm fairly irritable at the moment 😬

ChampooPapi · 09/10/2020 21:03

I was obviously very polite, but the mayhem I unleashed in my mind was disturbing

BS9790 · 09/10/2020 21:56

@FireflyGirl am with you on this.
Ive had no one mention feeding, birth plans or anything to me! Just googling my way through pregnancy lol!

My bump is so hard, tight and sore. Is this normal? I've mentioned a few times to various professionals that my bump is really tender and sore, but had no response so guessing it's nothing...
My bump is measuring small and baby is measuring a whopper... So assuming it's literally just down to being stretched to the max?! X

BS9790 · 09/10/2020 21:59

Thanks for everyone's advice and input. I have spent the day reading about both options.
I think we are swaying to a c-section at the moment, but with a few questions I would want answers to from consultant before I commit.

I've had a few tears about not experiencing labour as I was weirdly quite looking forward to it! Going to spend the next few days on my birthing ball with my fingers crossed haha!

FireflyGirl · 09/10/2020 22:30

My bump is also hard and tight (which bit depends on where madam is sticking her bum/limbs out), and I get soreness on and off across the top. I've concluded (as medical professionals seem to want nothing to do with me!) that this is due to me over exerting myself.

@BS9790 I've found a copy of the NHS birth plan that the antenatal lady emailed to me. If you want to PM me your email address, I can send it to you to have a look through - even if it's just to see the sorts of things you have a choice about (in principle)!

I'm happy to try and answer any feeding questions, too, although answers about breastfeeding will mostly be what I have researched/learned from friends as DS and I did not have an easy breastfeeding journey and it ended after he went on nursing strike at 10 weeks.

Ejb86 · 10/10/2020 09:20

@BS9790 can I give you a positive outlook on a section? It isn't always as bad as it is often made out to be.

At around 37 weeks we booked in for an elective due to George being breech. We were given a provisional date and were asked to go for pre-op the day before. That day it was confirmed wed be having our little boy the next day, so we went out shopping and bought Christmas baby stuff (e.d.d was 28.12.17 so we hadn't dared!)

The next morning we arrived at the hospital early and we were told that we were the last on the list and may be bumped if an emergency came in. In which case, I'd then have to wait a week until the christmas period was over. Luckily it all went to plan and I went down to theatre mid afternoon.

Not knowing what to expect in theatre, I did get a bit worked up when they were ragging me around on the table trying to get him out. He was wedged under my ribs and it took a lot of effort on their part. That was probably the only negative part of it all. It was very calm and relaxed. I'd done hypnobirthing hoping for a natural labour but believe that the hypnobirthing helped me. He had snuggles with Daddy while I was being sewn up and then was placed on my chest.

We were taken back to the ward afterwards. Hubby stayed as long as he could. I got told off by the midwives because I dealt with the first poo on my own without calling them. I just cracked on and dealt with my baby. But my attitude has always been my baby, I'll deal with it. I did buzz them a lot to check his latch as I really wanted to breastfeed (almost 3 years on we are still going!)

The next day we were discharged. While I was waiting to leave, staff were coming in the ward and cleaning the other bays and were cracking me up. I was laughing so hard at them whilst sat cross legged on the bed. They even commented that most women tell them off and stop making them laugh because it hurts too much, but I was honestly ok. We went home 24 hours after birth.

You obviously have to be aware of not doing too much too soon, but it was honestly not a bad experience at all. If I was in your situation I would definitely be making that choice, as it seems safest all round for mum and baby.

ChampooPapi · 10/10/2020 20:22

Really getting uncomfortable now 😞 I have never experienced groin pain in my previous pregnancies, I've realised how unbelievably lucky I was now! It's god awful, women are too amazing for words really, yes pregnancy can be fine, and straightforward, but when it's hard it's HARD. This groin pain is terrible! I hope it goes away after I have these two babies, bloody agony

BS9790 · 10/10/2020 21:09

Thank you @Ejb86 😊😊

My main worry with the section is blood loss & healing, as I have low platlets and do bleed alot. I'm sure they will keep me in for a few days because of this.
Because my hubby will only be able to visit for 1 hour per day, I was hoping Id be able to go home the same day as the birth. I know this is the same at other hospitals too and am sure other ladies have the same worry with current covid situation.

I think we're going to go for the Csection.

Still hoping I go into labour this week before he gets too big though! I'm only comfortable when I'm in the bath... Not sure I can spend the next 2 weeks in the tub ha!!!

@FireflyGirl, thank you. I will message you RE the birth plan!

Whiffle77 · 11/10/2020 09:20

I'm having a surprise @SunnySideUp2020 but have still got lots of blue! This baby is going to be dressed up in all sorts of ridiculous outfits, no matter what they come out as!

Sorry you had a rubbish appointment @FireflyGirl my midwife has been great but all my info about birth plan i have got from a book, we haven't actually discussed it yet! I read the positive birth book which I highly recommend.

Hope you are feeling a bit better @BS9790 i think from reading other threads they are getting c section patients home from 24 hours or so, so hopefully you won't be without dh too long. That's my worry too though.

sorry you are feeling rough @ChampooPapi. These later weeks are hard, even with just one!

BecsterG · 11/10/2020 09:23

@BS9790 it's a difficult one but I think I'd go for a section so it's all planned and can be controlled. Fingers crossed you don't lose that much blood and you get out the same day or the following at worst. I lost a lot of blood when I had my placenta removed and they thought they might have to keep me but I seemed to bounce back and still got home the same night so you never know although best to think you'll be in for a bit. Is this your second baby? Sorry my memory is mush right now. If so stayed in will mean you can nap when the baby does but I know there's nothing like getting home.

@ChampooPapi you're right, women's bodies are truly amazing! I take my hat off to you I ain't two though. Really can't imagine what it would be like to be pregnant with twins this late on. Not too much longer left for you.

OP posts:
ChampooPapi · 11/10/2020 09:28

@BecsterG agreed, staying in a night, or even two is no bad thing! You get to establish feeding and rest and recouperate, and a complicated vaginal birth can definitely lead to having to stay in hospital as well
